"Well I have to disagree with the positive reviews like clarice. They are either lucky or got paid for a favorable review. Anyway I ordered a cover for my iPad and did not notice that they took over 2 and a half weeks just to ship the damn thing out. I emailed them a couple of days after I ordered to cancel and they refused. They told me that they have 2 and a half weeks to ship. I asked them that if the item wasn't shipped why can't they just cancel it and WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO SHIP!! Order was placed March 23 and it is now April 3. Well they just kept giving me the runaround and I still after 1 and a half weeks have not received the item. Terrible customer service. Buyer Beware."

"I wanted to write this because I realize most people tend to report on issues that are negative. I think it's important to let others know about issues that are resolved positively. I too had a problem with scheduling an appt very similar to others listed here. At first I received the same response (give to someone as a gift). So I elaborated - giving a detailed explanation, and was immediately refunded. My faith in Groupon restored and coming from a customer service background wanted to remind others that you should remember that while you may know what you are trying to convey in an email - but what comes across may be interpreted differently. Make sure your message is clear and thorough."
"Like some of the other reviewers I have only purchased local restaurant coupons from them. They have all been good deals and saved me money. From other reviews I would not purchase items from them or resort deals. Most of the resort deals are for resorts that have less than stellar reviews, and they inflate the prices to make it appear you are getting a good deal. "
"I have to disagree with most reviews here. Like windbite I have obviously been lucky with Groupon up until now. Their deals have saved me loads of money but I can only say this for the deals for restaurants and other services cos I’ve never ordered any products or anything. I’m really pleased with their service. Hope it stays that way. "

"I have used Groupon until Living Social and Amazon Local had beat them for the deals prices and customer service. I purchased a massage and chiro consult on Feb 4th, valid until May 5th. The vendor has no evening or weekend availability (apparently for Groupon customers only) I then called them as a "private customer" and, lo-and-behold, they found an evening spot for me or a Saturday, whichever I wanted. After explaining all that to Groupon's, so called, "customer service", I got a run around telling me that if I could not use the massage myself "Groupon makes a great gift". I explained that no one I would give it to would actually take a day off to get a massage because everyone I know works for a living and the vendor does not offer schedule compatable with most people's work schedules. I got the same type of email again, this time from the "supervisor". So I gave up and made an appointment for early morning one weekday, however, when booking was confirmed the massage therapist was a male. They dont have female therapist. Period. I dont feel comfortable with that, so I cancelled appointment, and contacted Groupon again, asking to get a voucher refund in Groupon Bucks, so I could use it on another deal. They have not replied back at all. Amazon Local and Living Social both offer money back protection if a vendor does not work out. Groupon does not. No wonder their popularity is waning. I hope they go out of business alltogether!"
"Dont any anything from groupon , I just buy a spa coupon half a year ago , when i try to make an appointment , its fully booked before expiry date , when i try to contact groupon and ask for a refund , they said they have no guarantee that u can make an appointment . So in other words , what they are trying to say is ` we are trying to sell u a coupon , and u might not be able to use it before the expiry date , coz they always have the right to say its fully booked , and we are not going to give you a refund .`"
"Worst customer service, I am never doing business with them again. A Groupon expired and I was traveling a lot then laid off, etc and Groupon will not refund the money back to my account. They have a strict policy that they do not refund---but the vendor should allow you to use the money toward any very highly priced service. Forget it. I am not spending more money. SCAM. Money lost. I misunderstood and thought the money would never expire in that it goes back to my account. No exceptions whatsoever customer service informs me. Customer beware, No exceptions! With Groupon, its only a matter of time before you will lose money with them if you get too busy or are traveling/out of the country and unable to use it it in time! I don't appreciate companies like this, so I am done. Never going back. "

"I had really bad experience with groupon, I bought a service for snow mobile and the I cannor book an appointment on weekends as they are booked for whole winter. I cant go on week days. When I contact groupon they asked me to go on week days or give as a gift to friends. Their refund policy sucks. I will never buy anything on groupon. If it is even few bucks more I will directly go and buy from merchant, their refund policies are better than these money suckers."
"Bad customer service. I purchased a cleaning offer from them and I contacted the cleaning group several times. Each time they took my information and say that they will contact me later and they never did. several months and several calls and still the same. Last time I told them I am moving and I want to use it before I move they said ask groupon to refund your money because we are fully booked. After waiting for weeks for the Groupon response, they refused to return my money and they ask me to give it away to anyone."
I ordered an iPad case/keyboard. After about 9 weeks, it quit working. I sent it back to the manufacturer for repair, with all ancillary items including the charging cord.
The manufacturer advised me by e-mail that the item was working fine, and offered to return it. I accepted, and they sent it back - WITHOUT the charging cord. Now I have no way of keeping the item workable. IF it worked, that is; it doesn't, since I can't get it paired with my iPad.
I advised Groupon of all this and requested a refund. No, said they, since it's been too long.
Too long, when the manufacturer itself kept making mistakes? (They failed to reply to any of my requests for a charging cord.) What a rip-off.
I won't be ordering any more goods from Groupon. Restaurant vouchers are different, and I've had good success with them."
"I've been lucky with Groupon I guess. The site has saved me a ton of money in regards to restaurants and even some merchandise. The only thing they do that I'm not a fan of is post the amount spent on gift certificates. Makes me look like the cheapskate I am! One word of advice, RESEARCH the products/merchants BEFORE purchase! Some of the items are total poop and not worth the shipping cost!"
"Feb. 3 - Purchased coupon Feb. 12 - Attempted to use coupon (vendor did not honor coupon) Feb. 12 - Called Groupon. They refused to refund because it has been over 7 days of purchase.
One of the worst customer service experiences I had ever had from any online company. They do have some good deals from time to time; however, if a vendor does not honor the coupon then it is very difficult to be refunded if it has been over 7 days of purchase. Does that seem like a reasonable policy? If the coupon is not honored then regardless of the date of purchase you should receive a refund.
"I was a good customer found a few good deals here and there until the last few I bought. One was a restaurant groupon for the Italian inn. They wouldn't answer the phones there you only got recordings. Then no return calls. Then next was for a news paper subscription. Groupon denied the offer I paid for even after I called the Fort Worth Star Telegram newspaper several times and they said they would honor it. They hung up the phone on me, called back again they were more than happy to refund my money on the newspaper subscription but not on the restaurant groupon. Just be very careful with these so called good deals!!! I will never use them again!"
"A $15 Groupon I purchased had expired. Within 5 days of its expiration date I emailed them to see if they could swap it for the EXACT SAME valid deal with the EXACT SAME restaurant for which I purchased the deal. After emailing with a customer service rep and a supervisor they both repeated over and over how their policy is not to refund and they could not swap the deal and I should use it for its value or give it as a gift to a friend. I was appalled that they would not accommodate a simple and small request for the sake of good customer service which would result in no loss for either the company or the restaurant who was still offering the same deal. It takes one small act of poor customer service to turn me off for good. I will never purchase another Groupon."
