"I was looking fro some new sunglasses and came across FD on a google search. Looking here I saw some ratings not great but called up and WOW!!! A human being answered the phone! She was very personable, asked about the weather (turns out both in TX so she knew) and when I told her the sunglasses I was interested in she squealed in delight claiming she has the same sunglasses! So ordered them and received them in 5 days! She was right, EVERYONE compliments me on my Prada shades and I tell them Framesdirect.com!! Now to pick out my next pair, so many choices, I love it!!!"
"Buyer beware! this was a bitter sweet experience. I know it is easier for us to complain than praise. It's human nature. I hope my review will save someone I don't know from becoming as disillusioned as i.I could vent and rage and expunge my anger but that would not help anyone ... so my appraisal is simply stating facts.Delivery - Please specify they do not send to you via i-Parcel who tried to scam me indirectly for 60 euros import tax. Then delivered 3000 miles away to South Africa, and then split the two pairs up and sent them 2000 miles away to separate addresses in a different, but once again wrong country.Discounts - please clarify the discounts and ask for them in writing from frames direct BEFORE you place your order. I happily paid 746 dollars which they HAPPILY took upon ordering. You don't get something for nothing. Not in this life!Billing and invoices - When i received a final receipt it was for 628 dollars. I now have to account for that missing 118 dollars to the tax man in my annual return this month. And as I am sure you all know, that is not going to be easy! I WILL END UP BEARING THIS UNACCOUNTABLE COST.Customer service - always cheerful and seemingly helpful but sadly the eagerness to take your money is not matched by a concern for your customer satisfaction. My order numbers and order values changed more often than you could possibly believe. and ultimately 118 dollars of which I PAID cannot now be accounted for. Watch and read any communication emails closely ... the wording is very ambiguous and is designed to cause confusion. Scam is an art form and verbal platitudes fall easily from professional smooth talkers. I was naive and taken in. Please don't let yourself get caught out in this way. Like all good scams, it becomes so confusing you have no where to hunt for proof or find evidence. Although I was offered discounts and refunds and reimbursements for the tragedy that this order became ... all i received was some of my own money back, MONEY WHICH WAS MINE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I am still out of pocket and hurt that for someone who believes there is good in people, I've been made to feel embarrassed about standing up for my rights. It hasn't got me very far admittedly, but it's taken it's toll on my health, made me suspicious of internet purchasing (which has never happened before)and has left me out of pocket.In all fairness and without prejudice I will point out that, all in all, the glasses are great and I do not regret buying them. But I would urge anyone considering purchasing from FramesDirect.com to search long and hard first for other online retailers who offer better value for money and have a more principled and fair-trade approach to their business.There are many out there and you could save yourself much stress, time, upset and ultimately money by choosing a different company from whom to buy your glasses or lenses.Jonathon Ackroyd"
