"It is another scam. They send conformation without item description and price (first scam warning). When you call they try to sell you additional overpriced accessories. They told me that camera Nikon d5000 has non-rechargeable battery and I need to buy another one from them for big dollar. Remember: you cannot buy new Nikon d5000 less then $600. If you see the price less then that, most likely it is the scam. Look at reviews dates. Do you see my point?"
"BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! I ordered a digital camera as a gift and while inquiring about the status of the order, I was asked "if I would also like to purchase a rechargable battery for it?" i told them that I have the same camera and it came with a rechargable battery; they replied that their's comes with a "ONE-TIME USE ONLY" battery... this is certainly not disclosed in their ad regarding a Panasonic DMC-ZS5 camera.... WORST & SHADIEST company I've ever come across!!!
Their 'reply' tells you all you need to know: "They're a wholesale company, so you may NOT receive the merchandise that you believe you are ordering.... however, they DO NOT disclose in their advert what is different in their offering, than what the other websites offer.... Notice also, there is no Toll-free number :)"

"I was told that the firmware to make my canon HFS21 camcorder work costs an extra $250.00. I cancelled the order since it became cheaper to buy the camera else where. I've used many canon camcorders without upgrading firmware - I do not trust digital elect any more. If the camcorder will not work without a firmware upgrade, then the additional price increase should be on your web site. especially since you won't sell it without the additional firmware update!"

"i placed the order & i couldn't find where i can get a copy of receipt. Didn't hear from co in a few days & called to ask where order was. i asked for a copy of the receipt and he said i had to wait for the box to ship. Never received invoice. Told shipping was an additional fee. (something like $25 additional for shipping) I got mad and I asked to cancel order. Got the story... cheapest around.. not going find another cheaper one like this. Was working and needed to go. I told him to cancel order. Next thing i know order shipped. I received box with camera. Box looked like it was a used item. Box had tape all over it with missing pieces to the box. I called to tell them i cancelled the order and after waiting 30+ minutes was told that i didn't cancel order. I requested a code to return item. Gave me a bad time told me i had to wait for an email, then email them back and then wait for another email. The gentleman was rude and tried to make it my fault. I asked him how much $ would be credited and he said i got to wait for the email that will detail the amounts refunded. Its been days and i have not heard from them. Bad business practice. I wrote them tonight requesting immediate FULL refund... if i dont get the full refund i will be contacting consumer protection or contacting my credit card company and filing a dispute. In these hard times if you run a business and you want people to purchase items from you, you should take care of your customers. 11/3/10 - seller has contacted me and we have taken care of the matter. I am satisfied and am changing my rating of them to a 5. Thank you David for understanding my concerns."

I had a bad experience with this reseller that caused me to cancel my order with them. I ordered a Canon T2i (body only). Their price was around $100 less than most other resellers. Two days after I ordered the camera, I started getting emails that said I needed to call them immediately about my order. I called the (toll) number several times before finally getting through to someone. They said that because my order was > $500, it had been "flagged" for confirmation. They confirmed my bill/ship address, and...that's when everything started to go to hell. They started by telling me the camera came with a "20-minute non-rechareable battery" (a lie) and told me I needed to buy a battery for it. I refused. Then they asked me "what year firmware I wanted installed, 2009 or 2010." I said, "whatever firmware is on it is fine." They told me the camera *had no firmware* and would not work out of the box (a lie). I said, that's fine, I'll install the firmware myself. They told me that's not possible. That's when I decided to cut bait and cancel my order. Fortunately they didn't give me any trouble there - they cancelled the order and no charge was placed on my credit card.
It's clear that they're using borderline-fraudulent practices and they're attempting to hook-and-ratchet every customer - just look at the reviews here. I suggest just spending the extra $100 buying from a reputable vendor in the first place. I learned my lesson, and took my business elsewhere."
"This company is completely unethical. They sent me a different camera body than I ordered after I got the "'upgrade treatment" regarding the battery. I have called them five times and finally was emailed a "Return Authorization Form". They filled out the package price as being a refund of $335.00 and my invoice has a price of $809.99. They are trying to steal money. Their contract on this form is equally unbelievable: No matter what the reason is for the return they require a 15% - 25% restocking fee. I only have five days to get a RMA # and that is only valid for 14 days. But I cannot fax to them the request for A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. The fax number is incorrect. If I sign the form (with the incorrect sums for refund), it states that I lose all rights to further negotiation and agree not to pursue the matter by any means. I will NEVER EVER deal with this company or one by the name of Crazy Camera (a parent company, I guess). Also since I teach a lot of photography workshops I will insist that my students/participants never use this company. Once they have your money, they just send you whatever they have and you can "spin your wheels" forever trying get what you originally ordered and what they sent to you returned. I want to contact the Attorney General in New York for relief from this company. They are completely dishonest and should be severely punished or they will continue to pry on people over the internet. Updateof 11/29/2010 After speaking with several different men I finally got the Return Merchandise Authorization, boxed everything up and sent off with a return receipt. One of them had said that they would credit my credit card for the return after I write a new (presumably good) review of my dealings with them. I said "No" I didn't trust them after this experience and that I was a person of my word and I would write a review of how this transaction ended. Finally I received a credit to my credit card for all the money I spent less the shipping fee of $39 (so they said but I was not going to quibble). I would say this to any prospective buyer: "If it sounds to good to be true it usually is" and if you want to save yourself a lot of aggravation just go with a retailer with a good, honorable reputation even it costs you a little more. "BE CAREFUL IN DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I ordered a Canon 7d body from this company last week. They called me back to lure me buy "high power battery" because there's only a "one-time-use demo battery" there (clearly a lie). Because their price was good, I decided to give in. 15min later, I suddenly realized that the prices didn't add up correctly and I would pay much more than buying from many other vendors, I immediately called back -- I was told that there was a 9% "insurance" charge which I should have seen on their website (WHAT?!) I still tried to save the purchase and just asked them to remove the "high-power battery", they rejected and I had to cancel the order. The 9% insurance was the most ridiculous thing I have ever met!!"

"Hi,I recently ordered a digital Camera and the sales person was very helpful and polite, he answered all my questions without rushing me, I received the Camera as promised, all was in perfect condition! I would not hesitate to buy from them again. Walter"
"Digitalelect is one of the only online stores that actually ships a product when they list it as "In Stock", not say it's available then put it on backorder later"
"I am very disappointed in the service of this company. Digital Elect is intentionally misleading and has sub-par service. I ordered a camera last month, they charged my credit card on September 22nd, and I discovered that it only SHIPPED today, October 6th, two full weeks later. I hope the camera will arrive in the next week, as I need it for biological field work, which is why I ordered it over three weeks before I was due to leave for the field.
What they didn't tell me when I ordered the camera is that it is a wholesale model that doesn't have a fully functional battery, and that the normal battery is going to cost 50 bucks more. They cleverly hide this information on the website until you have committed to the purchase, and then they call you on the phone to talk you into spending the extra money so that the camera that you ALREADY ORDERED will actually work properly when it arrives.
They then charge you quite a lot (16 dollars or something) to ship the camera. I know that isn't exactly a deal-breaker, but free shipping on high-dollar purchases is pretty widespread among reputable sellers.
I hope beyond hope that the camera works properly when it arrives. I cannot even begin to fathom what a complete and total disaster it would be if I actually needed to return something or contact the company for any other reason.
**Update: after e-mailing the company about my poor experience, they did let me cancel my purchase without charging me a re-stocking fee on the same day (two weeks after purchase) that they said it was shipped. Not really a reason to shop there, but at least I escaped unharmed and can resume business elsewhere."

"Worst experience I have ever had and will never order from here again! They are very difficult to get a hold of, incredible rude on the phone, have no problem lying and when questioned will start yelling and interrupting you so much you can't even finish your question. I ordered on Sept. 9 but because of holiday website said would be processed Sept. 13, called several times and emailed requesting tracking # after 8 business days. On Sept 27 called and received a tracking # but he was incredibly rude and degrading, constantly yelling and interrupting and never let me finish a sentence. Turns out my order wasn't processed and sent on Sept 15 like he said but Sept 27 during my call. Also FYI their table top tripod is actually a mini tripod only 4 inches high and after you place the order they will call lying about something being incorrect to get you to upgrade your battery stating battery it comes with is "non-rechargable"."
"Worst service ever! The representative suggested me to buy additional batteries since, according to him, those in a kit can be used just 20 min. His approach was very rude, asking me why am I buying $900 camera and not buying batteries. After he told me the price for batteries and memory cards I told him I need to think about it since I am a student and I saved a long time these $900 for camera, so additional $200 is a significant amount of money for me. He said, again very rude and ironic, that there is no point then of buying camera since I can't use it. After I asked him why is he so impolite throughout the conversation he asked me which card I was using to pay my order. I told him it is international American Express and he replied that I can't pay with international card. I tried to explain to him that I already payed, that I haven't received any error or cancelation message and that you have other countries offered in your billing address options, he told me that in that case billing and shipping address need to be the same. I thanked him on his help and asked him to send me then cancelation e-mail. He responded, what difference does it make for you if I send it to you or not? I have never experienced something like this in my life, and i hope this will help you in your decision. "

"BEWARE!! Bait and switch or upsell.com should be their real name-be prepared to get a phone call telling you they are "surprised" you didn't order the real battery the camera needs--as if I thought they would ship a demo battery so they could upsell-also,I paid for 3-day shipping on 8/31 and recieved the product on 9/7-I was phone promised 9/3-so, no camera for my trip-I'm sure the salesperson is pleased with his upsell commission- "No Gimmicks-No Games" must mean something else-- as I said--Beware"
