"I had a very BAD experience with this company , I purchased a camera from them over the new year weekend , When monday came around I recieved a e-mail saying they couldnt process my order without speaking to me first .
So I called the company got a story about a battery that i needed and it was on sale for 50% off from the manufacturer , I was busy at work and said do I NEED this battery for the camera to work ? they said yes you do, so i said send it to me but if i find out I dont need it I will be ****** He went on to say why would I lie to you....Didnt you read the website information !
So when I got a break I went to the website and found out the information he gave me was bogus and I called the company NO answer , Called three times more , Left a message on the answering machine and then finally called another number from the first e-mail I recieved and got a rep .... I asked to cancel the order and they wouldnt give me the cancellation code that they say you HAVE to get from the company via phone , And so i asked to speak to a manager , At this point I was livid and just wanted my cancellation code , I put him on speaker so that the employees of my job could hear how he was being rude , Screaming at me and refusing to give me the cancellation code I requested .... When he realized i was on speaker phone after 5 minutes of his rude behavior he spat that both orders were cancelled and he hung up on me!
I called discover and blocked any charges from the company EVER .... theyr a BAIT and SWITCH company BEWARE!!!!"

"They pulled the same scumbbag bait and switch with me that they pulled with everybody else, it seems. I have the same story... order a camera at a fantastic price, didn't hear anything, finally called, got lousy customer service and the "would you like firmware so your camera will run, $65 more" speech. Needless to say, I cancelled my order with them faster than you can say airline pricing scheme. The worst part of it was that I thought I had done my research and that they could be trusted. They seemed legitimate and they raised my hope that I could actually own a nice camera on my budget... That's why I'm really upset with them, they're downright cruel!"

"Word of warning: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS OUTFIT !

The bait and switch scam on battery, charger and warranty is complete misselling. In my case a Canon T2i kit. Canon USA have since confirmed that there is no such thing as a 20 minute single use battery. And that the battery and charger in the T2i kit is standard - do not be fooled by 12 hour charger, single use battery, etc. Warranty is also standard on parts AND labor for 12 months. I want to warn others not to be scammed by these people. The original price was shown as $609 (good low price = scam!). Walk away whilst you can."

"Nothing more to add to everything already said - true Bait & Switch - in my case it was the extra charge for the Firmware for a Canon Camera at $239.- What bothers me the most is the blatant lying - in my case that the extra firmmware charge was disclosed at checkout. DON'T BUY from them."

"This is the worst internet company that I have EVER dealt with! I ordered a Canon camera at what I thought was a great price. I got what I now know is the standard email that said I needed to call them. They said that I accidentally ordered two cameras (which I know I did not!) and, by the way, did I want a real rechargable battery not the 20 min one-time use battery. The website clearly says "battery pack" in the product specifications. Also, did I want a memory card since it didn't come with one of those either. I was told that there was a 30 day price match guarantee so if I found these accessories at a cheaper price then they would refund the difference. That is the ONLY reason I agreed to the "package" that they were offering. I have since found the items much cheaper. I called them and wanted to return just the accessories and keep the originally ordered camera. No deal. I was told I had to return the whole "package" at my expense and pay a restocking fee of at least 15-25% then reorder the camera and pay more shipping and insurance. I then said that I wanted them to honor the 30-day price match guarantee. I was told that they didn't have a guarantee. At which point I started to lose my cool. The customer service rep was rude and talked to me like I was stupid, which I was because I fell for this scam. I was told to send then the links for the cheaper prices. I've sent then twice with no response. I now consider myself officially blown off by them. Please do not do business with these scammers!!! In the old days they would have been strung up from the highest tree next to the horse thieves and cattle rustlers."

" You really shouldn't even try dealing with these bozos unless you are a professional proctologist! I was looking for a Nikon D90, and they had a $609 price listed. I emailed them to make sure, because the site said it was a US model, new, factory sealed with all accessories. They actually emailed me back and said, yes, that was correct. I then called, and they verified it again, so I ordered on the website. I got an email verification the next day. Then, nothing for a week. Then an email saying I had to call to verify the order. When I called, they wondered why I hadn't bought a battery with the camera. I told them that their website stated a battery came with it. The moron I talked to said the included battery wasn't rechargable! I told him that I had gotten an email from them saying the body came with all factory accessories, and at any rate, I didn't want to buy the accessory battery (at $99 each, no less). He said they would have to cancel my order, just because I wouldn't buy extra accessories, and hung up. I called back, and it sounded like I got the same moron. Yes, we can't fulfill your order unless we can rip you off. Anyway, be careful. If their lips are moving, they are lying to you. And because I tried to get the camera from them, I missed the oportunity to buy a legitimate one from B&H during their Christmas sale.

Anyway, my New Years wish is to see the idiots put out of business. Spread the word!"

"Never do business with this company, they are unethical, have no customer service skills and just don't care about anything except taking advantage of the customer"

"Digital Elect is a bait and switch company. They advertise low prices, and then bait and switch you with outright LIES. They sent me an email asking to call them about my order, which I did. They said I had placed 2 orders for the same product, which I did not. They then explained that the Canon camera I ordered had a demo battery and a charger that charged the battery in camera only. After I agreed to change the order to have a battery and charger the really good price they advertised was very close. This company is not honest, nor reputable and low prices they advertise are not real either. "

"What other customers said about this outfit are true, they are very dishonest. I WOULD NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN. I ordered a Canon camera, thinking getting it at a great price, but only was notified by e-mail that I need to call back to "verify" my order. During the phone conversation, I was told the camera came only with a single-use demo battery and I need to purchase a rechargeable one. I told them their online spec says it comes with battery pack and other necessary accessories, and I fully expect the camera be at its full functionalities right out of the factory box. If this is not the case, they can cancel my order. The man at the other end, without hesitation, said that your order is cancelled. Obivously, selling that camera at the listed price does not make sense to them, and they would either have to make a significant profit on selling other add-ons or not sell it at all.
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!"

"I ordered two cameras for Christmas and while the initial price was low they called and stated that I needed to buy various items such as a battery etc. to use the camera before they would ship it. The shipping was delayed, the price increased, charges such as mandatory insurance were added, and customer service was rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I was not provided shipping information for one of the cameras that has been in transit for a week. This store definitely has been overrated and is one I would not deal with again. "

"I too got hammered by this gang of thieves. I will of course not do business with them again; I also will not deal any longer in New York City for anything. IMHO, the companies' ceo's begin on the streets with three card monte and move up from there. thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent my disgust.

"Terrible internet retailer!
Poor service.
Deceptive.
I was upsold on "extended life batteries" on 2 cameras I recently purchased.
Batteries were standard batteries (I verified with manufacturers sites) when items finally arrived.
Furthermore, I didn't receive until 19 days after order placed, after being assured items would be shipped promptly.
Customer service was not helpful and insisted I had received the "upgrade". I was then placed on hold for >16 minutes before I hung up.
I've notified my credit card company about these con artists and urge everyone to stay away!!

"I GOT BURNED. They said similar things about a temp battery and that I needed to purchase a new one. They charged me more then $300 dollars for this. They will not respond to my e-mail and call. The price I was charged for this "package deal" did not match their on-line price. I will be sending a letter to NY attorney generals office. "

" had ordered a Camcorder for my wife for Christmas. I was called telling me that this model was "no longer available". I was being "upgraded" for free (there's my first hint) to a better model. Then it was batteries, the one's that come with the camera are not good enough. Then that led into why I didn't just purchase the "package deal" that they had with a bag, batteries, etc. When I asked the price, it was going to be just over $900. I said NO because I wasn't familiar with this camcorder and I wanted to research it first. (Thank GOD I did that.)
The funny thing is that the original camcorder I wanted to order is STILL listed as "In Stock" on their website. Not only that, the camcorder I was being "upgraded to" was listed for $609. That's $300 LESS than what I was quoted by Alan on the phone !!

S T A Y A W A Y F R O M T H I S W E B S I T E ! ! !

Look them up on BBB if you have any doubt in your mind. I did, and canceled my credit card for protection. BBB has their location on Google Maps. Looks questionable to me if you read their "policies" page as to their explaination as to why they can sell so cheap. Also did a reverse phone search on their phone number. Oddly enough it doesn't come back listed as a place of business."
