"Deltacamera.com is a bait and switch scam outfit, which overcharges for their extras, refuses to send what is purchased and refuses returns without a 25% charge; they have refused to refund my money even though they received their camcorder over a week ago. I purchased a Canon camcorder online at DeltaCamera.com for $399.00 and received a call from a salesman stating that there was a problem with my order, that there was no battery or charger with this camera, then, when I agreed to buy both said I needed to upgrade my purchase to include the 5 hour battery (for an additional $79), instead of the two hour battery and a battery charger (for an additional $69), which he said he could send out immediately. He couldn’t send the $399 camcorder for 8 weeks but had a special for a total of $669.99 that could go out immediately, with an extended warranty from Canon for $119. When the package arrived a week later, the evening of 11/11/09, I was disappointed to find only the standard battery BP809, no charger, a certificate for warranty from a company I never heard of—not from Canon. Also, there was a tiny tripod and a small box with lens cleaning fluid, which I had not ordered; all was not worth the extra $270. I called Delta Camera’s salesman who was always unavailable and I left messages, detailing the problems and asked him to call me. To date, no calls have been returned. I sent emails to Delta Camera’s Customer Service, info@deltacamera.com, none of which were ever acknowledged or in any way responded to, even though the Delta Camera website says this is how to contact them. I called Delta Camera’s Customer Service several times and finally stayed on hold until, finally, Tom answered; he said there would be no credit for anything. He said the battery I got was the battery I ordered and that the adapter was used to charge the battery and there was no charger. Canon lists the adapter as standard in the package and the charger under additional items which can be ordered in the Canon camcorder Instruction Manual; the battery, BP809 comes standard in the box and the 5 hour battery is BP 827 and can be ordered. These items are not even carried by Delta, according to their website; they lied that the were sending them. Tom said that Canon had no extended warranty and the warranty Delta Camera sent would be used to fix my camera, but I would have to find a repair facility that honored it and send the camera, if I had a problem. I told him that I wanted what I ordered or a refund. He kept rudely interrupting and yelling at me that I was getting a great deal, even though I wasn’t getting what I ordered. I told him I wanted to return the package since he would not honor my order. He said he had to fax me a return authorization to sign for a $514 refund and that I should agree that I was paying $155 for restocking about 25%. I said there should be no restocking charge since Delta had not sent what they had promised. He yelled that the fee was per Delta’s internal rules, protecting them from “bad apples” like me. I hung up while he was still yelling at me. I am a retired grandmother who shops online all the time and I sometimes have to return something. I never have had trouble with online products or returns and have never been called names by Customer Service. 11/16/09, I called VISA and was told to return the product with a receipt and tracer from the USPS or UPS. I took pictures of the package, packaging and address and I sent it that morning via UPS, with insurance to make sure they got it in good condition and cannot cheat me and, in addition to photos, I have a witness. Delta received it 11/23/09. I Googled Delta Camera and found out they are a scam outfit with a lot of different names. I have sent emails to Delta Camera’s Customer Service, info@DeltaCamera.com, regarding the shipment and my plans to take my complaint about their bait and switch thievery to the authorities if I do not get a full refund, immediately. On November 16, 2009, I purchased the same Canon Vixia HF200, with the 809 battery and adapter from Amazon.com , for $530.25, not the $669.99 Delta charged, and received it almost immediately. The extended warranty from Amazon.com would have been an additional $49, not the $199 charged by Delta. To date, I have received no refund from Delta and not even an acknowledgement that there is a problem. I finally got one email from info@deltacamera.com after I sent them over a hundred large emails, including copies of online complaints against them, on Sunday evening; the anonymous person stated that I was welcome to spam them but would have to wait for my money because I disputed the charge—another excuse not to refund. At least I now know that there is someone at info@deltacamera.com; I had thought it was a dead box.
"Same negative exper./scams as others. Better Business Bureau has a different address for them, and American Express has a different name for them. (They don't take DiscoverCard; probably 'cuz Discover has them on their 'fraud watch' list.) Note: stopfraud123 wrote a very negative review, but gave them a 5; probably reversed rating scale. Also, I'm told that william12345 works for them, & there r suspicions that mike11223 & the cammanjoo do, too??"
"My experience with Delta Camera is similar to other complaints here. I ordered a digital camera on-line. The next day I received a call telling me that the camera needed batteries. What, I asked, no batteries included? The answer was no but it sounds like these guys use cell phones with lousy connections. Understanding what was being said was difficult. OK, I thought, I’ll order batteries. The $19.99 batteries would last three hours, so I was told and the $29.99 batteries would last 10 hours. I went with the 10 hour batteries. The camera arrived and red flags were all over the place. The camera appears to be repackaged. I’ve bought Canon products in the past. This box was plain white with printing in black...not the colorful box you would expect if you bought it from a retail shop. The box did not include a registration card...uh, oh! A “grey market” product! And the 32MB memory card was missing. (Why would someone take out a cheap card?) I was willing to bite the bullet on all this if the camera worked. I charged the 4 very expensive batteries that I paid extra for and they would not charge. (By the way, there WERE batteries included with the camera.) I packed the whole thing up and returned it to the return address on the shipping box. In my letter I outlined my problems and said I was returning the camera under the “100% Satisfaction Guarantee” as stated on their web site. I also asked them not to contact me regarding this as we had nothing to discuss. I held my breath. A few days later my credit card was credited with the full amount. Whew! Bottom line, stay away from Delta Camera or, if you’re willing to buy from them, be aware that there will be issues."
"Stay away from these people, website states...shipped in 24/48 hours. I kept going to their website to check on my order, it was in process, called them about a week later and was told item was backordered. After reading bad reviews, I canceled that order, called Camera Kings on Thursday and had my camera the following Monday...scbill"
"I tried to order a Nikon s570 from these people yesterday and as soon as I saw the 'please call to confirm your order' email I knew I was in trouble. This has happened to me before when I was trying to purchase a head unit for my car, and it is a 100% bait&switch scam. These companies get your credit card info, force you to either buy a warranty/extra equipment, or tell you to *go fly a kite* and cancel your order. Literally, they tell you they're canceling your order and hang up on you. You call back, they talk down to you again and hang up on you. They're running a scam, they know it, and when they know that you know it, they just cease all communication and become abusive if you call back. It's borderline illegal, but because they are not selling knock-off equipment & do intend to give you what you buy (once you break down and spend the extra money on the warranty/extra equipment), they cannot be charged with anything the BBB or any other govt agency. You can only hope the word gets around and their customer base shrinks to the point they're no longer viable. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company and others like it at all costs."
"Same story as other reviews. Wish I had found this site first. Placed order for projector at about $100 less that what other sellers were advertising. Next day, received email to call and "confirm" my order. Salesman informed me that the price did not include the bulb, and which bulb did I want to purchase? Would have been several hundred more dollars. I cancelled the order and am watching now to see if I get my money back. Stay away from these guys, very shady, definite scam!!!"
"Buyer beware!!! I ordered the Mitsubishi HC6800. The advertised price was around $2,100. When I called to "confirm" the order, I was told that the unit would come with a "50" hour bulb, but if I wanted a "4,000" hour bulb, it would cost extra. The unit ended up costing $2,650. I stayed with them because with screen, the package deal was still good. They sent the projector, but the screen was suddenly "backordered," but they had a more expensive one if I wanted it. As for the bulb, I contacted Mitsubishi directly and was told in explicit language that there was only one bulb available in that unit, and it was rate for 4,000 hours (part number VLT-HC6800LP). Their salesperson lied to me."
"Do not buy from them!!!! scam Same as the others, place order at low price, they ask you to call to confirm next day, never tell you the item is back ordered, tilll you call. Then they say is going to take two weeks, but if you want they do have the complete kit in stok for hundreds of dollars more. Called after two weeks and again the said it would take two more weeks, so I cancelled my order, which of course would have never come!!! Did I mention how rude they are????? could not believe how vulgar the are when on the phone, like they dont care at all!!!!!!!"
First they advertise a very low price on some camera, probably just to get your credit card # (catch you in their net)! Then, the order says 'call the confirm".. never seen that! When you call...they say the item is back-ordered for a period 'unknown'... and abruptly hang-up. Just from their suspicious nature, I canceled the order (even I had no problem waiting). Just did not appear to be a legit place.
STAY AWAY FMROM THIS SITE if you dont want hassle and credit card mess etc!! "
"It started out as a normal Internet transaction. I got an invoice in the email for the camera I just bought but there was a note that I had to call and confirm the order (the first red flag!). I also had a call from the salesman. I fell for the misrepresentation about the batteries and the deal on the web page that you would receive 2 for 1. After I got off phone and reviewed the invoice online I saw that the invoice changed from an itemized price for the camera and shipping to a package deal that went from $896 to over $1300 for the camera, the batteries and the extended warranty plan (buy 3 yrs and get a 5 yr plan). I called and complained that the prices don't even begin to make since given the battery and warranty prices on the web page. The salesman, Chris, said that the battery wasn't listed on the web page because it was so new and that it was so much superior. He said that he had also made a $50 error and brought the price down to $1275. I then got a call from my credit card company that there was a possible fraudulent charge being made on my card (This should have been a big red flag but it has happened before; the company must be in the data base as a scammer.) When I received the order there was only 1 battery, not the 2 promised. When I searched for the price of the battery, I found them selling for $15 to $20. The bottom line is that I paid about $275 more for the camera and accessories than the actual price advertised. I can't believe I fell for the sales pitch, I should have known it wasn't legtimate when the price advertised was so low and the price was listed as a package deal without an itemized price list. I should also have researched the battery instead of falling for the blatant lies of the salesman. It turns out that I paid high retail for the camera and got a lesson that I won't forget. After seeing the other reviews at this site and others, I fell lucky that I at least received the camera at all."

"I placed an order with DeltaCamera.com. I didn't order a photo card or anything except camera. On the confirmation call I was told, "you can't take pictures without a photo card". At 4 times the cost of photo cards at local stores, I replied, "no thanks, I can buy that locally." Then I was told "the batteries that ship with the camera will explode and mess up your camera. And they'll only last 15 minutes." I replied, "I already have rechargeable batteries. I only need but the camera." On August 4th, I called when my status still said "processing" on their website. Was told the camera was on backorder for a "few" weeks. On August 6th, I had a friend call and inquire about the same camera. It is in stock and she could have it in 5-8 days. I called back...surprise, surprise..."the camera is on backorder for a few weeks." When I explained about my friend calling, the story immediately changed to "you ordered with a Visa and our Visa terminal is down. It'll be a week before it's fixed." I then spoke to a "manager" (another scammer) and was told the camera in stock was the "retail version" (price over $100 more than advertised on the website) and the camera on the website was the "wholesale version". I asked other than the price, what was the difference. "The retail version comes with a cable and an English Owners Manual. The wholesale version (website) has a Chinese Owners Manual." I asked why the website didn't specify this. He said, "I don't have to say that on my website. You pay for what you get." I cancelled my order. I called Canon to report this dealer. They are not an authorized Canon dealer so there's nothing Canon can do about them. I was also told that if I had ever received the chinese version of the camera, the warranty wouldn't have been honored in the US. I then cancelled my credit card. These people are scum. It is apparent from further research that these people simply change the name of their company when their current name gets a bad reputation. I wish I had found ResellerRatings.com before I ordered from these low-lifes as many reviews sound the same."
"I ordered a GPS system, received a call from William a few days later stating I needed to order updated maps for a deal of 59.99, when I questioned this William said he could give it to me for $39.99, when I hesitated he said "It's not a million bucks lady, do you want it or not"? I canceled my order, he would not give me a cancellation order but did say nothing had been shipped or charged. I won't wait to find out, I am calling my credit card company first thing tommorow!"

"Totally agree with DMT. I ordered a Canon SX10 from Deltacamera, a day later they called to verify my order (which I thought was nice) but insisted I purchase all these other accessories. I had everything else since I was simply upgrading from another camera. When I asked if my order was going to be shipped immediately, they rudely hung up on me. My order remained on backorder until I cancelled it 4 days later. I would STAY AWAY from this company."
"My experience with DeltaCamera.com was very good. The products that I ordered were were cheaper than anywhere else on the internet, and I was really pleased with the service they offered. I will order again from DeltaCamera.com whenever I need some camera equipment"
