We have been buying from the guys at CoolDrives for about a year now, usually ever few weeks for some odd thing.
Quite frankly, I'm a bit suspicious as to the postings here,as it is the polar OPPOSITE from the experience I've had with them.
They have ALWAYS been prompt and timely in communication, answered questions immediately, and have always shipped our orders immediately.
My only guess is that some folks want presales support, which is *NOT* what the cooldrive guys do. If you don't know what you want, or want somebody to hold your hand, go to BestBuy and pay thru the nose for one of the dorkgeeks to help you.
I would recommend cooldrives in a heartbeat - we switched to them over the friewiredepot guys (who IMHO are the biggest bunch of crooks on the planet, and who still owe me around $800) and we've never been dissapointed with a single order to date.

"Prompt shipment. Excellent product. Pre sales tech questions were answered quickly. I found none of the negatives that others are reporting here. Product is a 5-drive sata raid enclosure. I installed the drives, formatted and configured the raid in less than 30 minutes."
I ordered 3, 8 inch "latching" SATA cables but, was shipped 3, standard non latching cables.
I should have heeded the dire warnings about CoolDrives before I ordered but, I couldn't imagine how they could screw up such a simple order. I am now a firm believer that all of the negetive comments about them are absolutely true.
I already told them it wasn't worth my time to return such a small order and would just relate my experence here.
Bottom line, CoolDrives shipped me the wong items and no amout of "spin" from them can justfy that. The invoice included with the wrongly packed items clearly states "latching" cables with a different part number than the ones shipped.

I ordered a Quad SATA Enclosure at a great price. Then the problems started. They emailed me to tell me they would need to build it slightly differently and it would cost an upcharge of $10. I approved. Then they emailed me to tell me they would need to build it slightly differently for an other upcharge of $20. I approved.
But stupidly I asked if I would be able to return the unit if these configuration changes meant that it wouldn't work.
They first responded not to worry it would definitely work but they wouldn't be able to give a refund.
Four minutes later they responded that they had canceled my order.
"The Bad: Very poor experience. Received a RAID card in an open whitebox, looks like used merchandise. ESD bag was open (doesn't even fit the card), and shipped with no instruction leaflet, driver disc, or cables. The Good: Cheap prices if you don't mind receiving stuff in this condition!!"

After a long search I was able to find a phone number (and by the way this company has many other names this I found out by checking addresses) by this time I am very pissed off I had a very short conversation with (no name given) and told him to go to hell. A short time later I received TWO E-MAILES THE FIRST “This is a copy and past from e-mail”--> (yes we will post your info on all sites as well TKS) THE SECOND: “This is a copy and past from e-mail-->(we do have our records as well, since you posted false information we will share your data with other merchants hava a nice life CC: fraud@secursite.com) This is the real name of companys-->secursite.com I consider these e-mails a type of threat or intimidation.
I have not posted false information I have all the invoices/order confirmation/e-mails. I agree with all the other reviews VERY BAD COMPANY, VERY BAD SERVICE, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY( Read reviews from other people)the same complaints are listed, "Please read other shoppers reviews"
