"Initially I was pleased by the polite and reasonably efficient service. I was told that all items were in stock when I placed the order, however, one was not shipped. When I enquired about the missing item to get an idea of availability, I was told that it would probably be shipped in a few days. When it did not arrive in a week I called again and was told it would ship the next day. I recieved an e-mail to confirm shipping the next day and was surprised when I later learned that it hadn't been shipped. After one more failed attempt to get the product (Minolta BP400) I cancelled the order and purchased it from another supplier. Your Company then sent the item 2 days later even though they admitted when I called that I had cancelled the balance of the order 3 days before. The package was returned by UPS.I think that you definitely need to overhaul your inventory system. This started out as a positive experience that turned very bad. "
"They mailed me a camera without a UPC code on the box so I could not send my $50 rebate to Pentax. When I called back after some frustrating times I finally got them to sned me one so I could get my rebate. I felt they misled me. i was very dissapointed since it was my very first time ever ordering online. It left a bad taste in my mouth. "

"Ordered Sony camera from Cameratopia for $468.20 w/shipping included.Order not received within 2 weeks. Called and was told they did not have any in stock at that price, but could priority ship immediately w/ extra accessories for $528. No charge for priority shipping. Shipping took extra 10 days, and I was also charged extra for priority shipping. UPC code was removed before shipping to me, depriving me of opportunity to get $75 rebate from Sony, and I was charged $628.19 by you in addition, to which I never agreed. You refused to also give me UPC code needed for rebate. I felt completely misled by your company and overcharged by $234.19 which included the $75 rebate loss from Sony. I am protesting your bill with my credit card company."

"This was my first and lasts time with this vendor. I ordered a Digital video camera on Nov 18th and cancelled the order when I hadn't received it by Dec. 11th and getting the run around by everyone. On top of that, the person I cancelled the order with convinced me to still send the d8 video tapes (5) and I realized after the fact a $25 dollar purchase had a $9 shipping charge. This is a real bad operation. "
"I recommend to everyone to stay from Cameratopia. Their pricing is deceptive and if you want to return something they charge a 15% restocking fee (not disclosed to me by the sales person when I submitted my order) on top of an outrageous shipping fee. I was buying a digital camera for an Xmas gift to my wife and they would only allow me 4 days after Xmas to return the item if it was not satisfactory (of course w/ 15% restocking fee charge). All other venders I contacted allowed a return period of 30 days after Xmas with no restocking fee. I returned the merchandise to Cameratopia and purchased the camera from Buy.Com at a lower price with better terms. I plan to fight the restocking charge through American Express, the credit card I used to order from Cameratopia. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!Chris Sailer (302-655-6115)"
"Good experience-the site was simple and straightforward. The guy that called (Patrick?)to acknowledge the order was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and did a great job of "up-selling" in a manner that was not offensive--God forbid!...the guy even had a sense of humor. I was getting a little bit concerned about delivery, but strangely, even as I loggged into the site to track my order less than 20 minutes ago, I had to take a phone call and while I was on the phone with the site staring at me, my secretary walked in with the package. I just recommended the site to a friend here in the office who is also buying a camera for his wife. Good job--I guess we will know more on Christmas Day...."
"My salesman, Sam B., was extremely helpful in both pricing and availability of a highly sought after Mini-DV camcorder, a Sony TRV-22. Cameratopia's prices were way below advertised prices of both their competitors and their own posted prices. I was very pleased with my purchases. "My experice was pleasant and the salesperson seemed to be well informed of the product. He also gave me some discount prices. He also volunteered his services if I had any questions. The only problem is that I tried to get through to him and have not been able to get ahold of him. So I still have a problem to solve."
"Cameratopia had the best price after doing an extensive internet search for my particular digital camera- Minolta Z1. My first choice was on a 3-5 week backorder, so I went with my second choice and received it promptly.My only complaint was the verification of who I was to Cameratopia. It's great that they were trying to protect unauthorized use of my card, but it was a little difficult. Since I was in between permanent residences (waiting for my house to be built), I had to call my credit company and put an alternate address on the bank's computer. I was told to put it in the "comment" section of the bank's computer. I did it exactly as requested, but still had problems verifying who I was. Good security, but bad hassle. Needs some perfection."
"Placed order,and was asked to call to verify my credit card. Called 11/18 and was subjected to sales pitch for xtra add on's. Also was asked about extended warranty. I insisted that I did not need any of it. They promptly said that my order would be shipped in 7-10 days and hung up. As of 12/12 I had not heard anything and was beginning to get wise to their scam. I again called for tracking and was told that the order had not shipped. I asked if I could cancel the order and they did so on the spot.[As they hoped I would do in the first place.] Let this be a lesson to all who would approach them."
