"STAY AWAY!!!
I tried buying a monitor on their website. They charged my credit card but sent me no notice as to shipping. When I called and got through, they did not have the product in stock, could not tell when it would ship or if it would ship. I was hung up on by John x207. It turns out there are two websites californiacomputer.com and californiacell.com either may have info about your order.
I canceled my order and am awaiting a refund via paypal.
Bad customer service - stay far away."

"STOP! Do not buy anything from California Computer Center! This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. So bad in fact, that it has driven me to write my first review.
I ordered a laptop and was told that shipping would take 5-8 days and I would receive the tracking number in 1-3 days. 8 days went by and though my cards was charged day 1, I had no Laptop and no tracking number. Repeated emails and phone calls got me no where. I would have canceled the order but they hit you with a 4% fee. This is the scam i think. You buy something, the delay the shipping so you get impatient, they refuse to give you information so you cancel the order and they get the 4%. Pretty good deal for them - bad for you. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I cannot stress this enough."

"SCAM-DO NOT ORDER FROM CALIFORNIA COMPUTER. IN MY CASE ,THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY FOR A SAMSUNG LASER PRINTER THAT WAS NOT IN STOCK, AND NEVER SHIPPED! THEY DID NOT RETURN MY CALL RE SHIPPING STATUS. THEIR E MAIL RESPONSES WERE EVASIVE . THIS COMPANY IS NOT REPUTABLE. THEY EVEN TRIED TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL $78 SHIPPING CHARGE 10 DAYS AFTER ACCEPTING THE ORDER FOR A PRINTER THEY NEVER SHIPPED. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE."

"The worst, horrible service never received order for computer or tracking # call 4 times and emailed them that I have not received order they said it was shipped. Then never returned calls. Credit card was charged. Gave up trying after 16 days. Put cc charge in dispute
They just waste your time"

"California Computer Center is a scam. I bought a computer from them. After taking the computer out of the box and turning it on, the computer started overheating. I shut it down and tried it a few more times, only to see it overheating repeatedly. I contacted California Computer Center, and its staff was unhelpful and misleading. I finally convinced them that the computer was defected, and they provided me with the return instructions. After shipping the computer back, I never got my refund. I tried repeatedly to contact California Computer Center to get my refund, and they just ignored my request. I am working with my credit card company to pursue California Computer Center's fraudulent business practice. Don't fall for their slightly cheapter prices, because they use low prices to lure you in and rip you off!! "

"The customer service from California Computer Center is the worst that I have ever experienced. The only way to check the status of an order is through email. I emailed a few days after placing the order and received no response. I emailed 8 days later when the item hadn't arrived, and no response. I called and left a voicemail ref the order status, and still no response. I will never shop here again and would encourage any potential buyer to look elsewhere."

"I am writing because I purchased a Toshiba laptop, order number 76528, from your company on May 25th. At that time, my credit card was charged $603.00. Included in this price was a promise that I would receive the computer within 5 - 7 business days. Therefore, I would have received the computer by June 4th at the latest. Instead, the computer was not mailed until June 9th. After calling the company to complain, I was promise a $15 reimbursement as well as receipt of the computer by Tuesday, June 15. I was also told that a manager would call me by Wednesday the 16th. I stated that if this did not happen, I would call the BBB. The computer arrived on Thursday, June 17th, I did not receive the reimbursement, and I have yet to hear from a manager. As a result of these issues, I filed a claim to the Better Business Bureau, #98530886.

I am now asking for a full refund. Again, the computer arrived on the 15th. After using it for less than 4 hours on Friday the 16th, I received an error message stating that the computer's cooling system is not working and to bring it in for service. In other words, I was sent a late, broken computer.

I am asking for a full reimbursement on the computer. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Ever."

"I placed an order on May 11, 2010, for an LCD computer monitor. The site indicated that the free shipping could take up to ten business days, so after receiving an order confirmation and subsequent credit card authorization confirmation, I did not give it any more thought for a coule of weeks. Finally, nearly five weeks after placing my order, I emailed customer service, only to receive the following response from Lupe (a name others have mentioned in their reviews here):

Dear customer,

I apologize for the inconvenience.
I have forwarded a copy of your
order to our shipping department
for an update status & requested
to ship it out ASAP.

Thank you

I have now emailed each of the following two weeks since that time. I am now calling my credit card issuer to dispute the charge.

"This was the worst online purchasing experience of mine. I bought a Acer notebook from them on 6/1/2010, and confirmed with sales by phone the item was in tock. The credit card was charged immediately. However, the status of the order was never changed, and the item was never shipped. My many e-mail inqueries on whether the item is in stock were always answered by a person named "Lupe". The replay is always one sentence: "I have sent a request to our shipping Department to ship your item ASAP", no matter what questions I have asked. Lupe did not change the answer even after my order was marked as Cancelled. Knowing that it is easier to talk to a live person in their "sales Dept." in the company, I called them by selecting the "Sales dept" option. I asked whether this same item is currently in their stock (and I'd like to buy one), Without any hesitating the person told me that the item is in stock, and it can be shipped immediately if I buy now. I then confronted the person with the fact that I have ordered this item on 6/1/10 and the item has not been shipped, the person then changed the story be telling me that this item is no longer available, and then hang up on me. After trying for a few hours, I finally get talked to a live person again and cancelled the order (the order is now marked as cancelled w/o surcharge). When I asked when my credit card will be refunded, I was told that I need to stop the payment. Called the credit card issuer, and I found out the stopping payment option is already too late, and the only option is to dispute the charge. Trying to contact the company by phone and e-mails again were never successful since then. I am still trying. Seems to me the only way to get my money back is to dispute the charge though my credit card issuer. "

"This company seems like a bunch of shysters. The order status phone and customer support line go to one extension. He answered the phone once. On their site they say "Our ability to assist our clients on important decisions on software, hardware and rapidly changing technology is what has made us leaders in our industry and kept us serving Fortune 500 companies in Los Angeles since 1993. Being accessible to our clients is what has earned us respect and helped us not only survive these tight economic times, but even expand. Not only do we sell our products, we demonstrate, teach, answer questions and provide follow-up training. When you walk into California Computer Center or phone us, there are no lines to wait in and no recorded voices telling you which buttons to push. You can bet when we ask "may I help you?" we mean it."
That is not true.It has been 5 days since ordering
a computer laptop. There have been no updates
or changes in order status. I ordered through paypal. I am going to try to cancel my order. I have never had this kind of experience with any online retailer. They are very scary. Do not buy from them please. It has been almost two weeks since I first wrote this review. Since then I have made a complaint to Paypal, where I made the payment. The owner, named Jayvee, wrote me that he was going to investigate his merchandising department. That was a week ago. He has not made contact since. I want a refund. How can I trust this company with a service plan even if I receive the computer. My experience has been really bad and hope that I do not lose my money completely
