Ordering from CPU solutions was a painless process with good sales support. When I received the system it was exactly what I wanted and had been configured exactly as I had specified. As I used the system I noticed that Windows would not boot properly if the system was cold (turned off for a couple of hours) though it would eventually boot when the system warmed up. I had excellent support from the technician that built my system and when we determined that the issue was with my motherboard, CPU Solutions paid the shipping to get my system returned and fixed. I purchased the reasonably priced extended warranty and have no doubts that it will be honored if I need it. Before ordering a new system I did much of my own research, to which the CPU Solutions folks added a significant consideration I had overlooked. They did not try to oversell me.<br><br>In unboxing the system at home I noticed a loose cable. I sent them an email about it, and expected a reply the next business day. Less than five minutes after hitting the send button a CPU Solutions technician called me and walked me through evaluating the situation (it apparently got loose in transit and easily fit back in the motherboard).<br><br>About a week later I did the same with a video\/graphics issue. Again, I only had to wait five minutes to be contacted. I used online chat, and received a quick and courteous response.<br><br>A week after placing my order, I called them to change the video card. They accommodated my change easily.<br><br>I received my custom PC 10 days from order date, and that was just fine for me (especially since I made a last minute change). I was not in a rush. All the components that I ordered were installed (no substitutions). The shipping box was well packaged\/padded, and they included the CPU box plus extra cables and manuals.<br><br>I had ordered my PC without an operating system, because I wanted to install Windows XP Home SP3 myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to install XP (got blue screen of death during the beginning of the install). I called CPU solutions and was helped by a builder named Kip. We checked various settings in the BIOS, and he finally walked me through downloading and updating the BIOS. After that, XP installed just fine.<br><br>The Intel DX79TO motherboard was shipped with the original BIOS version 0281. There were several BIOS updates since then. I would recommend that CPU Solutions load the current BIOS on the motherboard as a service to their customers. Also, I understand that XP does not support AHCI; and in my order notes, I requested that they change the BIOS to IDE for me; but it was shipped with setting AHCI...not a big deal, since it is easy to change.<br><br>Another recommendation is to have a power supply estimator as part of their website. After selecting various components, I would like to make sure that I have selected the correct size power supply.<br><br>Another benefit to their website is that you can submit your quote for review (so they can check for problems with your quote...like an under sized power supply, if applicable). I used this feature as well.<br><br>I am happy with my purchase, and I plan to purchase another PC or two from them in the near future. Compared to other custom build websites that I\u0027ve seen, CPU Solutions offers the most choices, the most detailed information\/descriptions, and the best prices.<br><br>God is a refuge for us.<br><br>UPDATE<br>After my good experience with CPU Solutions in March 2012, I ordered another custom PC for a family member in April 2012, and one more custom PC in August 2012. Each experience was just as good as the first. "After having too many PCs not really made for gaming I knew I wanted to do something different this time. I don't have the time and/or inclination to learn how to build a computer myself, and the crappy reviews for places like cyberpower and newegg (for complete systems) had me scared to gamble my money on them.
In a web search I found these guys and am I ever glad I did! For about the same amount of money I spent three years ago at Best Buy I got 10 x the computer and it is up and running as we speak!
They had it in shipping in the amount of time promised, total turn around time was about 10 business days with shipping. They responded to my nervous nelly email in a couple of hours..me checking to be sure they got the order. Out of the box, there was a loose cable that prevented it from turning on, but was a 2 second fix. I blame Fedex for that! It's running my games on all ultra settings and I am a happy camper! I will definitely be back when I need another, and am happily recommending them to all of my friends. I will never buy another "big box store" computer again.
Oh..one quick thing. The computer did not come with a power cord. This was no big deal because I have about 6 of them laying around. Not sure if this was an oversight or not, but just to give anyone ordering a heads up. And if you are like me and shopping for a computer for the new WoW expansion..the 4.2 ghz with an upgrade to a Nvidia GTX 560 Ti will run it on all ultra settings with 133 fps :-D"
