"Do Not buy from CDW.com. If you order when they are planning a price increase, they will let the order expire and then tell you that you have to pay the higher price! Recieved several emails confirming my order then nothing for a week until I emailed them twice and finally got an email back saying they had to put the order on hold and I would have to pay the new price. BUYER BEWARE OF CDW.COM!!!!!"

"My husband purchased ACER mini lap-top. He received 2 confirmation e-mails followed by phone call from one of the managers who wanted to verify billing & credit card info. Order was shipped with DHL service, and was already on a local truck for delivery. It didn't arrive on time, and we called DHL service to find out what's going on. First, we were told that they attempted to deliver it, but they had a wrong address. When we called 2-nd time, we were told that delivery was stopped by seller because it was a fraudulent package (???!!!). When I called CDW for the explanation, they told me that they stopped the order because it was placed from Russia (they checked computer's ip address) (?), not from New York! I was explaining them that the fact that my husband uses Russian e-mail service doesn't mean that this computer is phisically located in Russia, but then they would come out with different kinds of other weak excuses like that the bank didn't confirm billing address, etc (even though the card was charged right away and money actually was deducted from my husband's account!). After 2 hours of deliberations I just understood that they themselves are involved in some fraudulent activities: I don't see otherwise why our order wasn't delivered and they would blackmouth us like that! I am very dissappointed with this site - this computer meant to be my birthday gift - and would never ever recommend cdw to anyone I know!"

"I have done business with CDW for years. My company has spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. For the most part, the service was good. In the last year or so, I have had the "bait and switch" done to me, have had wrong items sent, items that didn't work, etc. Several times I have really been left in a bind and they have recently left me in my last bind with them. Ordered a laptop which in 3 months died, ordered a replacement as it is for a senior partner here, sent the new one and a hard drive enclosure so I could retrieve the info off the old hard drive. Sent the wrong one and after I called a couple of times, sent another and it is still the wrong one. Now they won't call or take care of it. If this were the first time, I would try again but after the amounts of money we have spent and the number of times this has happened, we will be looking for another supplier for our firm. If anyone knows of a reputable one, please let me know."

"DO NOT TRUST 'RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES' ON CDW.COM

Along with a new OKI mono laser we purchased 2 hi yield toner/drums from CDW. These 3 items were quoted by a CDW senior account rep. When it was time to replace the old stock toner with hi yield we realized it was the inncorrect toner. CDW refused to replace the $338.00 in toner with the correct ones because it was passed 60 days. However, they did apologize several times while talking in circles and blaming OKI DATA for publishing the mistake their site. Aside from sales reps hounding me over the years, CDW.com is a good resource for researching some products. For purchasing, I much prefer provantage.com."

"They confirmed the order, called and emailed o verify the payment. Next day they called and said it's out of stock, and they can offer me something similar. Next day i checked and it was back in stock, but much higher price. They said it was a mistake. Typical bait and switch. I know there might be a system errors but why this rep is calling me and confirms everything, and next day he is asking me to buy something else because it was too cheap. The order was for $1k - and i still have a hold on this money on card."

"very nice service. i bought this for personal use but had it shipped to my office. i got a call from cdw verifying the shipping address then item shipped same day and i got it the next day. very professional website and customer account is very detailed, i'm able to see who is handling my order.

will buy again in the future."

"We needed new computers for our entire office and ordered them through cdw. This company indulges on the worst kind of bait and switch - not only were we not shipped what we ordered - customer service was so impossible (not only do they never know what you're talking about, they can't be bothered to find out), we ended up returning everthing just so we wouldn't have to deal with them anymore! I can't even get a list of what we have been credited for versus what we ordered - fortunately I kept every shred of information associated with this order! No one I talked to about cdw had ever had any problems with them - I wish I had read the reviews for this company before I ordered even a keyboard from them. I won't be using them again."

"Our company buys most of our printers, monitors, accessories, etc. through CDW. Their website is horrid, their inventory system is horrid (if I order 10 things "In Stock", at least a few will be put on backorder). I'm actively trying to get our IT department onto another etailer. The account managers are okay, but not really necessary if things didn't go wrong so often. Oh yeah, we get something called special pricing 3, which is supposed to mean we pay 3% more than CDW does originally, but even with this "special" pricing, they're still more expensive than most of the other big sites."

"I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering at this store. I ordered a simple fingerprint scanner. They said it was in stock. I needed it quickly so I paid premium next day shipping. Two days later they have not even shipped the item yet. What a joke of a company!"

"they had a very low price on a dmc-lx2s (silver) for just over two hundred dollars. I placed my order, gave my credit card info and got a confirmation.

a few days went by and I got an email saying the price I bought it for was no longer valid and would like to buy it at the 'current' price (more than double).

bait and switch, at least on this kind of sale ;(

I was told they had a limited # of them at that price and my order 'didn't make it'. I find that very suspicious as I ordered as soon as I heard about the good deal.

I believe the seller changed their minds and decided not to honor the special sale. they said it was not a price mistake, yet they still refused to honor the sale price.

I would not recommend such a seller. they actually did ship some at this special price (confirmed online) but they would not ship to me. I don't think this is a completely honest seller.

"This is a review of a CDW by an IT company.

CDW did not provide the level of customer support that we required, so we have switched to a better supplier for our computers systems and those systems for our clients."

"Very dissatisfied with the service. Do not order from this company if you require a customized pc. You give them your requirements, their quotes come with their own set of features and not the features you ask for. This will take a couple of weeks back and forth. Not worth saving a few bucks for the trouble and being shipped a unit with missing products. Resolution for the missing product(s) will take another few weeks or probably go unnoticed. Buy directly from the manufacturer."

"Ok, CDW's not the cheapest place on earth... however ... the price premium equals one thing other places don't have: phenomenal service. Any time I need a mission-critical part - as with this recent order, I call up CDW. I ordered an ink-roller & consumables for our Phaser 8500 - and they got the order out *AFTER* their Cut-off time, and it was to us 2nd business day (as requested - however - a day early!) Now that's something you don't see often.

The Customer Account execs are great - just give them a call, let them know what you want - and that's it. 1-2 minutes to place an order by phone! Wow! Especially nice - if you order the same things over and over - like consumables. "

"I ordered a power adapter for my new Lenovo T60 laptop. I received it, threw it into my laptop bag and didn't attempt to use it until I was on a business trip. That's when I found out it wasn't compatible. I emailed CDW and asked them to exchange it for the right one. I had ordered the correct one per the information on the CDW website and they admitted that they had the wrong part number listed. The pushback came when I told them that I no longer had the original packaging. Here is a direct quote from an email I received "I will speak to my manager about returning the other adapter, but I am afraid that we will not be able to exchange it without the packaging.Let me know if you would still like to purchase the other adapter." (This was after they had figured out they had incorrectly listed the adapter as being compatible with a Lenovo T60 and had added a prominent note that the adapter was not compatible with that model.) I am expected to pay for their mistake?! I finally got this kicked up to a manager who agreed to give me a refund. I found the adapater on Amazon for $9 less. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

"I stop using this site months ago because they mislead customers by showing product status as 'In Stock' and then giving you all kind of excuses why thay can not ship the products after you place an order. Their sales reps keep calling me and asking to come back and give them another try almost every week so I decided to take a chance and place a new order again.
The same story. I orderd 2 hard drives that appeared as In Stock and ready to ship. Days after I checked their site to see where's the package and again the order is marked as Backordered with no estimated shipping date. They didn't even bother to notify me about this.
My 2 email requests to cancel my order to account reps remained unanswered. I sent another requests to their customer relationship manager and finally got a confirmation that the order has been canceled.
I will never deal with this site again."
