"Don't...save yourself the aggravation. I was a bit lazy in my research and it has come back to bite me in the !

"I ordered an LG 47" LED TV before Thanksgiving. The price was very good. That same day a service rep called me to verify the shipping address and offered me UPS shipping at a very affordable price. He also offered me additional warranty, which I declined. 8 days later the TV arrived. However, to our dismay, it had a broken frame. I called and reported it and was told they would send UPS a Pickup Order and upon getting the damaged TV back would send me a new one. I felt like everything was going to be okay. 5 days later, I call UPS to see when they would be picking the damaged TV up. They tell me there is no "Call Tag" in their system to pick it up. I try to email Butterfly Photo, only to get the emails back as undeliverable. So I call Customer Service. The automated system puts me on hold. 30 minutes go by.......45 minutes go by. But I wait it out. Finally someone answers. I explain my problem. They can't find anything in the system about my problem. Evidently, the 1st customer service rep didn't care enough about my problem to even enter it into their computer. Nothing had been done about notifying UPS to pick up the damaged TV so it could be returned. The customer service rep apologized and said he would try to take care of it tomorrow. I guess we will see what tomorrow brings. Of course I can understand why they are in no hurry. They have their money. They now have the loss of the damaged TV (I don't think it was damaged in shipping because the box isn't crushed - probably happened during packaging) and they will have to replace it with another new TV (if they ever get around to it). In the meantime, where does that leave me? I have nothing to show for the money I spent. To say the least, I am very disappointed with their service."

"I wish I had read these reviews prior to making a purchase with Butterfly. I do NOT recommend this vendor. I purchased a TV in July which was never delivered due to an inaccurate address. I tried to explain to Butterfly the delivery company would not deliver to the correct address. The TV sat on a dock for weeks. No e-mail, phone call nothing. It took me weeks after I finally discovered what was going on to get the TV returned. I have an RMA and to this date 6 months later I still have not received my $1000 credit. This will involve lawyers."

"I was leaving for a vacation and needed a camcorder. So on Monday I ordered Canon Vixia HFS20 from Butterfly photo and paid for 2 day delivery. I was hoping for it to get it by the latest following Thursday. Monday Evening, a sales rep called me to upsell a high capacity battery and insurance but I declined. He confirmed for me though that the order in being processed and I should get it by coming Wednesday. I waiting until Thursday but the order didn't arrive. I checked online and order status was "pending". So I decided to call them and they told me that there was a hiccup with their supplier and they don't these models in stock, even though it was still listed on their website as "in stock". Even if I give them the benefit of doubt, I still don't understand why I never received any emails or phone call from them, in due time, explaining supply problems. So I could've purchased my camera somewhere else. I had to call them to find out that there was a problem and I will not be receiving my Camera. So I ended up cancelling my order and left for my vacation without the camera. My take on this is that since I didn't order the extra battery and insurance, it was not profitable enough for them to honor my order and they were never going to send it. I will never do business with them again. "

"ButterFly Photo has proven to once again that they are very customer oriented and great to do business with. A Panasonic HD and Sony Bravia HD were purchased from ButterFly, both arrived unscathed and work perfectly. The best price, super customer service, and repeat customer benefits...whats not to be happy about. Thx u to all at ButterFly Photo and please, keep up the great work. Much apprecitated."

"After researching for a 3D tv for about two weeks, I decided to go with Samsung 55'' 8000 series. My next mission was to find best possible price and quickly I came upon this site "butterflyphoto.com" and loved the Package deal of the TV I was looking for + THE Samsung 3D blu-ray player and a 3D kit of two glasses and a 3D movie + bonus cables & cleaning kit. I decided to check some reviews of this site since this was going to be my first purchase from this site. I wasn't too thrilled about what I saw (4.5/10), i then decided to call the phone # on the site and try to get the feel of people from the site I was assured that I will not have a bad experience and I was told I can do a COD (cash-on-delivery) just to be sure. I figured I can't go wrong with COD, so I placed my order using credit card (I was told its just for address verification and charges will be made to it).
A day after my order was placed I recieved a phone call (like everyone mentioned in their reviews that you will get a call trying to cell addtional items), person on phone was very poliet and offered me a lower price than advertised if i bought a 3 year in-home service, it turned out that for additional $80 and price adjustment I can have 3 year in home service which i did take.
I also added a WALL-Mount which i originally wanted.
Now all i had to do was wait for everything to be delivered, delivery was delayed for two days but all arrived and I noticed everything was there Except the free cable/cleaning kit, I could have rejected the Delivery but I wasn't too concerned about the cables/cleaningkit, i decided to accept and pay for it. Next day I called to complain about missing Kit, the person once again was very nice and he apologized for it and assured me that it will be sent out the same day and I should have it in no more than two days and for sure two days later I had the kit in my hands.
Apart from the delivery delay and not being informed about it my Experience with "BUTTERFLYPHOTO.COM" was great and I will defnately buy from them again. :-)

"I bought a 58" plasma TV on October 8th. Granted I made the purchase on a Friday, but the TV did not get picked up by the shipper until the following Wednesday. When the TV finally arrived, (12 days from purchase) the screen was shattered. I refused delivery, and Butterfly promised to send a replacement the following day. On that day, they assured me the TV would go out the following day. On the next day, they promised it would be sent expedited delivery on the next business day. Are you beginning to see a pattern? So was I. At 5pm of the day of the latest promise, I canceled my order. Obviously it had still not gone out. These guys are dishonest, so I would avoid them.

Another point - I went ahead and ordered the TV from a local store last night. (Incidentally, it will be delivered today.) When I asked the salesman about the online price, he told me that the store could not be an authorized dealer as Samsung would not allow the TV to be sold under a certain price. I went to the Samsung site and sure enough, Butterfly is not an authorized dealer. I checked a handful of online stores that are authorized dealers, and in fact there were no stores touching Butterfly's price. Caveat Emptor.

Note: This company also has the domains LCTVs.com and BuyersEdge.com.

UPDATE: It's been 48 hours since I canceled my order and Butterfly Photo has still not issued me a refund.

"BEWARE I order a Canon PowerShot G11 10MP Digital Camera - 3632B001 on Oct 11th 2010 atracted by the low price with a rush order 3-5 business days and a week after Oct 18th 2010 I call back because on their site was no info about tracking details and a lady inform me that they didn't send the order becasue they don't have it. After 1 week after I make a phone call they inform me my order will never show up. VERY DISAPPOINTED my wife birthday is on 20th and now i need to spend extra money to buy something on rush plus we celebrate in Vegas so i need to spend extra money to get a camera because they will return the money in 24-48 hours. "

"**BUYER BEWARE** I purchased a Canon 7D from Butterfly Photo last month. Service was great, order came quickly. AFter a week I noticed focusing issues with the camera. I sent it in to Canon USA for repair, assuming it was under warranty. Canon USA called me the next day to inform me that the camera was COUNTERFEIT! What this means is that 1. It is not a USA product (no warranty card) 2. The serial number on the camera was fake 3. The camera was from Europe and probably bought off the black market. Canon USA cannot fix a camera that is European or one that does not come up in their system due to the fake serial number.

I have contacted Butterfly and continue to contact them. I have received NO RESPONSE. I did my research and read through many reviews on this company. There are many great reviews, and many bad ones. This type of fraudulent business ethic is unacceptable and I will be pursuing every avenue of possible to hurt their reputation.

Not only am I out $1500, but I have lost weeks worth of business as I have had to cancel/reschedule photo session with my clients.

**PLEASE BEWARE** Call the Better Business Bureau.

"Purchased a Canon D-SLR camera from Butterfly recently. Attracted by the low price but had to deal with an aggressive upselling salesperson on the phone afterwards. The 3 year insurance plan offered started at $100 and every time I said "no" it decreased in price until finally it was $50. Then there were the offers for battery, case, filters, lenses, and storage cards. I accepted one offer: paid $30 for a $10 battery. The order shipped the day after the phone call and would have been in my hands a day or two later had UPS not left it in their warehouse an extra night.

Note that Butterfly Photo is *not* an authorized Canon dealer (see http://usa.canon.com/CUSA/assets/app/pdf/dealer/CanonAuthorizedDealers.pdf) but the camera was a US model (no warranty card). Canon will still honor the warranty though, despite all of this.

Overall I still saved money from anywhere else, but given the number of bad reviews and the hassle of the salesperson, next time I'll go with the piece of mind of a more reputable place.

"The representatives at Butterfly Photo were extremely helpful in assisting me order the Canon Rebel DSLR Camera we purchased. This was the first time I had purchased a camera of this sorts, so naturally I had quite a few questions, and in addition I needed it to be here on a specific date (two days after the time I ordered it!) Steve, the representative that helped me made sure that the camera was here on the date that he told me it would be, and did an excellent job explaining things that I would not otherwise have known about this specific camera. I will definitely order from Butterfly Photo again, they treat customers in a manner that make them want to keep coming back!!! Thank you! "

"Steve did an excellent job of informing me of additional products & services BF offers that went with my new camcorder. While I didn't purchase everything, I did purchase an upgraded battery & the 5 yr service plan. So far, I have been extremely pleased with the camcorder, the extended life battery finally ran out of juice for the first time last night after over a month of use & the service plan gives me piece of mind that if something were to go wrong with the camcorder it would be taken care of promptly. This is my third purchase from BF & I have had a positive experience every time. Good people, good prices, good service. "

"Very good customer service. Although it took eleven days to receive the television, it arrived with no damage. Price I paid was far less than I would have paid with local merchant, and free Blu-Ray player sealed the deal. I would definitely buy from ButterFly Photo again."
