"PRO FOOT AND CALF MASSAGER / Item # 651455 I ordered a foot massager via the internet and paid with PyaPal. They charged me two times ($654). After four emails and PayPal’s help, I received $327 back in my account. Three weeks later I am still asking when will the item be delivered. After five emails, I am now being told the item has been canceled and I will have to order it again. BUT !!! I still do not have my other $327 back from them and the foot massager has gone up $100 All this time I thought I was talking to CUSTOMER SERVICE ! I was under the impression that customer service department was to help you and not fan the flames. "
"Really bad customer service! I ordered an item on Saturday, April 2nd. The order confirmation touts how they can't modify orders because the order is sent directly to the warehouse for shipment. Getting the shipment out the door is their number 1 priority, so they say.
I received an order confirmation immediately after placing the order. I never received shipment confirmation despite their pledge to send that information as soon as the item ships.
On April 5th, I sent an email to them asking what the issue was that I never received any notification about my item whatsoever. I never received a response.
However, the item was finally shipped on the 4th and delivered on the 6th. So, the time-to-deliver was extremely good. Too bad the automated system/customer service sucks..."
"Bought a 599456 power adapter and dual USB charger. In theory good concept, save number of gadgets with multi plug and same time can charge 2 USB devices (ipod and bb in my case). Stopped working next day (fuse ok). Shoddy mfg and poor design. COntacted Brookstone customer care and so fare only autoreply then a cut an paste of return policy no answers to specific requests"
"DO NOT buy the protection plan. They tell you "all you do is bring the bag back if it breaks and we just hand you a new one, no questions asked". They dont tell you that they do not keep any of your info and neither does the protection company. So, long story short, if you dont keep the receipt for the 2-3 years you bought the protection plan for, you are out of luck. To quote the customer service rep, "you are kinda screwed, dont you know to keep your receipts? do you think we would returns something without a receipt, its only common sense sir.." Their customer service is the WORST. Im not even sure why I buy overpriced things there in the first place- never again.."
"Ordered 2 x "4 for the price of 3" Christmas window candles (site clearly said quantity 2 = 8 candles). Received email confirmation. Received only 4 candles. Emailed customer service w/ copy of confirmation. They replied that the deal was actually BOGO (same total price for 4 vs 8, despite confirmation of 2 x "4 for 3") and they were "unable to honor my request." Another email never got a response. A call to customer service did get my 4 other candles, but the whole experience left me with a bad feeling for a retailer I used to love. To top it off, I got an email the next month promising a $10 gift card for submitting a review of the product I purchased. I submitted a review much like this one and (of course) have reviewed no gift card. I guess you only get the gift card for POSITIVE reviews. I will be hesitant to shop/order from Brookstone again."
"I only made the one order with Brookstone for an item that was to be a gift. Just received a mailed letter that the order had been canceled, the item no longer available.
Well, sorry Brookstone but how can you expect customers to trust you with their information when you cannot even maintain your own product database? In this day and age, a company that cannot even maintain its own inventory records is certainly NOT secure enough to maintain customer information.
I've asked them to be removed from their mailing and any database lists. I hope they do, I just hate getting spammed from places I'll never order from."
"I do not have a problem with the order. I placed an order and received the merchandise in a timely manner. It's what happens after that, you get placed on Brookstone's e-mail list and can not get removed. I receive a marketing message almost every other day, sometimes 2 a day. For 2 months I have been sending back "unsubscribe" messages. I receive a sorry-to-lose you message in reply but fail to be removed from their address list. A phone call to customer support has no effect, even though the customer service lady said that my e-mail address had been removed from their list. The only option left is to change my e-mail address. I will never order anything from Brookstone again."
"The first chair mat (see earlier feedback) arrived and it was fine. Shipped new with no damage.
I moved into my new office and had a second mat shipped there. I was very satisfied with that mat too. I can't recall why, but I got a $15 coupon after the first order. The live CSR gave it to me, when I called in my order to make sure they did not start selling my name (see their privacy notice).
First feedback: I saw a wood chair mat on their site and ordered by phone (to avoid having them sell my name or e-mail). The lady was very nice taking my order. A few days later, I received a letter that the item I ordered is no longer in stock. The website says the item is "NEW.""

"Ordered a catalog/web only clock from the website. Order stated that the product would be shipped on the 7th. Didn't get any email confirming order or stating it has been shipped. Calling customer service they stated it has been backordered to the 19th, and can't promise it will make it for Christmas. Now I'm stuck hoping it'll make it on time. Although the woman I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant I'm very dissatisfied with the overall treatment I've received from this merchant. Especially since I've received at least 2 advertising emails from this merchant after my purchase, but nothing on my order status!"
"Received order within a week or placing it. Box was well packed and in excellent condition. Item was exactly as expected and the price was competitive.
