"I order from BLT all the time. They usually have the lowest prices I can find, and I never pay a penny in shipping. Being so cheap, one would expect terrible customer service but that's never the case with BLT.

If something shows up damaged or defective, I fill out a form online and they email me a prepaid return label and ship a replacement for free. How can you beat that?

And, real people answer their phones and they respond to email almost instantly. Great prices, great service, great company! I'm glad I found them a few years ago. They have saved me thousands of dollars!

"PROS: Exceptionally low prices. Free shipping. Fast shipping. No sales tax. Excellent customer service. Emails to update order status. No wait to talk to live reps on the phone. Carry some hard-to-find and exotic items. Ship from multiple warehouses. Customers can check real-time inventory for item availability in different warehouses. Provides tracking for shipment. Protection against identity fraud.

CONS: Plain, unexciting website. Many items do not have a picture; (you would have to find out more about the items elsewhere.) Limited catalog. Security check if your addresses do not match, which could be a hassle.

DETAILS: I ordered the Haier 4.6 cubic foot compact refrigerator in stainless steel (model no. HNSE05SS) from Bottom Line Telecommunications (or "BLT") on for $152.67. That was the lowest price I could find for a mini-fridge of that size. I found BLT on Google Shopping, and I had never heard of them before buying this fridge. I browsed through the positive reviews here about the company, and I decided to take a chance with them.

My billing address was different from my shipment address, and I paid with a PayPal single-use secure card. So I knew BLT would ask me to confirm my identity, and they did. They requested me to upload a scanned copy of my driver license or actual credit card to their secure website. I called them a couple times to find out how they would handle my personal information. The two reps I spoke to were very courteous in answering my question. (I did not get the name of the first rep, who was female; the second was David.) They assured me that they would erase my personal information from their server after they reviewed the information. They also told me that I would need to do that only once; if I buy from them again, I will not have to go through another identity check.

I placed the order and uploaded my information to their website on Friday, May 21, 2010. They shipped my order from Pennsylvania on the following Monday, May 24, at 11PM. They emailed a confirmation on Tuesday, May 25. The fridge arrived in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, May 28, in the same week. (So the free shipping was also fast.)

My other concern was that the fridge would be damaged during the shipment. Thankfully the box arrived intact, and the fridge was in a beautiful condition. A month later, it looks great and is working fine. I am not too happy with the interior design of the fridge, (i.e., the fridge has narrow, short compartments and is unable to store more than a couple medium-size or tall bottles upright; and I have mostly tall bottles,) but that has nothing to do with BLT.

I would buy from BLT again -- assuming I can find something I want at their website. They seem to have a limited catalog and do not carry too many items. On the other hand, they offer some hard-to-find items at fabulous prices."

"On Sunday afternoon I ordered parts needed to install an aftermarket radio in my vehicle . I had the parts in my hand on Wednesday, delivered by Fed Ex with free shipping. The price was very good and I especially liked the free shipping. The speed that my order was filled in was outstanding."

"Outstanding customer service! The day I placed my order, I received an email as a security precaution for the card I was using. Following the confirmation, I received an update my item was shipped. Very fast shipping and delivery time was short as BLT has a warehouse in my state (PA). I sent email for great service received and got more follow up from the company! Will definately shop again! Great service and prices!"

"Could not possibly be a better online retailer.

Ordered an RBC32 battery for my APC UPS on Sunday. Immediately received a confirming email.

Monday morning I received a second email confirming "in stock" and acknowledging that the order has been processed and shipping was expected later that day.

Monday afternoon I received a third email confirming "shipped" and providing FEDEX tracking info.

Arrival scheduled for Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, they shipped from their California warehouse, but still!

Free shipping, no tax, fabulous price.

I will ABSOLUTELY shop with these people again in the future, if they sell what I need.

Absolutely top-notch recommendation."

"I ordered an HP ZR24W monitor from ShopBLT on a Tuesday afternoon as soon as I saw appear in the real time inventory. Within 20 minutes I had an email saying they expected to ship it out later that day, so needless to say I was impressed with that. I woke up next morning to a tracking number saying the monitor was coming from Texas and would be delivered that Friday. I live in PA so I was very happy to see that since most times, unless you order early Monday, you don't get packages the same week from that distance. Because of how fast they shipped the order it got here the same week.

Not only that, but this is all with their free shipping, and they have multiple warehouses in the country. Had the monitor been in stock at their PA warehouse I would have had it the next day, but the bottom line is everything went smooth as could be, they had the lowest price on the monitor, free shipping, and the fastest ship time I've seen on a site. You order something and it ships the same day within an hour. I would definitely do business with them again."

"The best communication ever for an online company. I buy online all the time and make a habit to initiate and continue communication to track orders and items.

Bottom Line Telecommunications never gave me a chance to do this!

The item I ordered was on back order which I knew from there website. Once I placed the order, I got an email receipt saying they had received it.
They sent me an email the next day reminding me they received the order and that my items were on back order, when they expected them in, and what my expected ship date was and from where. Two days later they thanked me for the order and let me know the items were in and were going to ship today. Two hours later they sent me my tracking information!

To top it all off, they had the best price, and free shipping. It doesn't get any better than that, and I hope they keep it up!

“Our policy is to ask for a photo ID -OR- quick, low resolution snaps of the front and back of the credit card, if we are unable to locate you in public records at the address provided, and you provide an unpublished telephone number. This is no different than showing your credit card or ID to a clerk at any retail store, or giving your credit card to the waiter at your favorite restaurant.

You are not required to do both, and we certainly don't spring this information on you after you order. This information is clearly displayed on the order form, before you checkout.

Unfortunately, a very common fraud involves a criminal gaining access to someone's account, changing the billing address, then having the order shipped directly to the criminal. If we cannot verify that you have some association with the delivery location, we request additional verification.

Lastly, we did not state your email was free. We stated various reasons why we were requesting the information, separated by "and/or". If your email address was not a free one, then the "or" would have applied in your situation.

We're sorry that you declined to provide a photo ID bearing the delivery address, but we must protect ourselves and cardholders from unauthorized credit card usage.”
