I received the first shipment with a missing ball mount and the item was not in a box but was just the bare hitch with many scratches and the parts bag was taped to the item and the parts bag was open. The Amazon return process was very simple and not the stress i expected. A few days after submitting my return, i received the second shipment and this time just the hitch arrived with no ball mount and no parts bag, just a bare hitch. I submitted yet another return request and my replacement order was not automatic as with the first return. A call to Amazon was very pleasant. American customer service rep (YEA!) who was very helpful and said that i would receive a refund and could order the item again once i received the refund if i would like but Amazon policy is two returns of the same item MAX. Apparently, Amazon pulls all items and inspects them when an item is returned more than twice. Not exactly what i wanted but not bad customer service at all!
I waited for my refund which came within days of shipping the item back and then i ordered again. Item received with all parts. "

"Amazon is fast and convenient, especially if you use Amazon Prime for two day shipping. Prices are generally competitive, though you can often find a cheaper price if you look hard enough. However, the huge inventory and convenience make Amazon the first place I look when comparing prices. When everything goes well, Amazon is great.
Unfortunately, Amazon customer service is horrible. You might as well be dealing with nameless, faceless robots. I received multiple correspondence from "a customer service rep" who was also quite rude. Good luck reaching customer service through the phone or getting your message returned. Also Amazon can arbitrarily terminate your Prime account without refund if it thinks your buying habits are abnornal--even without proof of misuse. Finally, the return policy states Amazon is not responsible for items once they are turned over to the shipping company. So if you order an item that arrives broken, according to Amazon's return policy, they have no obligation to replace or reimburse you for the item."
"My review is specifically for the items sold by Amazon LLC and not the third-party sellers as they vary from each seller.
I'm a doll collector and I have ordered lots of items from them, mostly shipped to India and some in USA.
Every time I was satisfied with everything! They always sent correct items (my luck), their payment process is quick, shipping is good and best of all is their staff.
I only contact through email (chat only for small info) and they always help. Many times I had questions about their promotions and sometimes problems with some price dropping. But their representative gave me refunds, free international shipping and high gift credits!
Their prices are usually retail prices or sometimes a little higher and their only problem is that they have high import fees or something, and they mostly pack well with air packs except in some rare cases packaging is not so good, but my items were okay anyway.
Their cancellation process usually works, although I haven't returned anything yet so I don't know about return facility.
A good thing about big stores is that since they're so big they don't mind giving credits to their customers. Although we can't say this for third-party sellers, but Amazon themselves always help.
Amazon is currently the best online shop here, at least compared to the other ones like Toys-R-Us which are just horrible.

I started out as customer and then got an account with the Merchant Services section to sell items online (my account was eventually close because I live in California). I remember when it was a lot more personal, do you? Like the $0.05 give away for clicking on products. I made $10 in one month to go back towards buying product.
Now the site is all about pushing the Kindle on you (I have TWO already stop!). I do love the amazon premium though. "Amazon.com closed my account for reason being that I return too many items. I have received so many defective items from Amazon.com, including their account "Warehouse Deals" selling non-described item, I purchased a Bazooka subwoofer, in which the product description stated that the product was open box and was in like new condition; after I received the item, the item had Chinese written on it saying it was a factory refurbished item. Upon calling Bazooka USA to verify the product, they told me that according to the serial number, the product was indeed refurbished and was shipped to Asia and should not be sold in USA. We used to have a Amazon.com store card, which advertised to give us 6 month financing without fees or interests. When Amazon.com closed our account, we were left with all $880 to be paid immediately otherwise we were faced with a 28% interest rate. Amazon.com is dishonest and kept selling fake, and wrongfully advertised products and services, and the consumer had to deal with it because they are the biggest online retailer in the U.S. market. I never received a phone call, it just this cold email stating to close our account because recently they probably cut a deal with Fedex and shipped it with that carrier; Fedex went to the wrong house and our neighbor refused the delivery. Now Amazon.com closed our account agagin with rude and business practices different than their advertisement. I wish someone or the government can expose how bad Amazon.com is comparing to what they interpreted to be. I will seek media exposure such as TV news channels, newspaper, radio, etc. Everyone should know what Amazon.com is doing and if they return products that are defective and follow Amazon.com's advertised return policy, they will just end up getting their account closed down by Amazon.com and being banned from ever purchasing with this dishonest online retailer."
