On March 9th of this year I placed an order for an Aurora 88 fountain pen, large size with the chrome cap, on the 12th I was notified it was shipped, and on the 14th I received the wrong pen (this was black and gold). I wrote them back that day on the 14th of March to inform them of their mistake, they offered to ship a return label. I did not receive the return label until the 20th, I had to call and have them fax me one as they never mailed the label.
Upon calling them I asked if it would be a problem to send me the all black with chrome pen instead of the chrome cap to which they agreed, but didn’t tell me that this item was on backorder (they didn’t tell me that until 4/19 when I asked what was holding up the order).
I finally received the correct pen on 5/05 however this one appeared used and worn, I emailed them asking if anything could be done and they said they could exchange it again. This time I asked for a fax label given my previous experience. I had to email them again on the 29th to verify that they had even received my return which they acknowledged and said my exchange would be shipping ASAP. On 6/08/07 I emailed them asking if it was possible to send the item to my work instead, and on 6/13/07 I was told by them that this item was discontinued and I would be issued a refund. The item is still on sale at their site, only now it costs $100 more than what I paid, and I am sure if I ordered one today I would receive it in a few days at most.
They never informed me when they received returns, they never called to try and work out a situation before simply refunding my money. Overall I am highly dissatisfied with my experience and would never recommend Altman Luggage to anyone. "

"I ordered a Montblanc Pen from Altman Luggage. I was skeptical after seeing that they charge first and make you beg for the order as reported by the other customer. My big mistake, of ignoring his advice. As mentioned they immediately charged for the pen. 2 weeks passed by and asked as to what happened to the order. They mentioned that it will be shipped out next day. Well after that another week passed , no sign of pen. I again called and this time I asked them where my pen was and the deadline was coming near. I was frustrated since this was a present to my husband for Valentines day. I argued with them to send it overnight. They said they will do it. Next 2 days nothing happened. I called them and was upset over this lack of customer service. Looks like the person did not care was saying the item is being shipped and is in the warehouse. Meanwhile, my credit card bill already showed the charge and lo, to my husband it was no more a surprise! After saying my plight, my husband got over the phone and asked to speak with the owner. The order arrived in a week after that. Looks like Altman collects the order, charges it and then when it comes to a good amount, they place the order. Mark my words, DO NOT ever buy from them. They might be cheap but comes with a cheapest customer service. Do you want to beg after you pay for it? Anyone can sell cheap if you collect orders and then place the order with vendor. There are other fine retailers like Fountain Pen Hospital(great deal), Pen Boutique (great deal),Farhneys(OK),Paradise Pen(OK) who give you great customer service. Go to these retailers. They are legends in customer service compared to Altman Luggage. "
"Is this a real store? I placed an order on Dec 29, 2005. Today is Jan 20, 2006 and I have heard nothing about my order. There have been no responses to my emails and my phone calls haven't been answered. I am beginning to believe that this is not a real website."
"not a good experience with this company. They are quick to debit the creditcard. No purchase received as yet. It is now october 29th. They don't reply to email queries. Had to telephone. They don't reply. Very arkward as I live in Europe. "

"Altman Luggage Co. is the worst company I have dealt with! I placed an order on October 1, 2003. Called back on the 6th to get a shipping status and was told they would have to call me back. Received a call back the next day to find out they hadn't processed my order. 10 days go by and I still have no luggage. Very long story short.. when I did receive my order I only received 1 of the 4 pieces I ordered. It took them another 7-10 days to figure out they hadn't shipped my complete order and that one of those 3 peices was not in stock. It took over a week to try and get a credit on the items I hadn't received and they wouldn't pay for me to ship back the one item I did have (I ordered a matching set). I had to pay for the shipping and they are supposed to be mailing me out a check (still haven't received it 3 weeks later). Bottom line.. their customer service department is inept and they don't stock the products they advertise on their website. AVOID ALTMAN LUGGAGE CO AT ALL COSTS!!!"
