"ordered an item from them, they immediately charged my credit card. then they sent an email saying there would be an additional $9.99 shipping fee, and they would wait for confirmation before proceeding. i asked them to cancel my order and refund my money. they sent an email saying the item i ordered was no longer available, and my account had been credited. it had not been credited. two more emails from me requesting my money, and they replied each time saying the money had been credited. but, they have not credited my account. horrible company, don't waste your time or money."

"I placed an order for about $50 worth of products which cost over $20 to ship. Four days later, I received an e-mail that they couldn't honor the order unless I agreed to pay another $20 because the items weren't in their warehouse and had to be special ordered. So I could get $50 of product for over $90 if I wished. They are nuts. Their web site should indicate the price you pay as a customer accurately and they should stand by the price, don't you think?"

"Ordered because the price was a few bucks cheaper. Bad idea. Paid (a lot) extra for expedited shipping. Got nothing. And nothing. And nothing. After waiting a week I emailed (no response) and called (what a coincidence, it's shipping today!). Then, got an email that shipping was delayed.
Suggestions: Don't sell items you don't have. Don't lie to customers."

"Wish I could give 0 stars. Ordered 25 electrical outlets, seems simple enough. Was told the items shipped, was told they confirmed they shipped, was told they reshipped, was told they confirmed they were reshipped, and now 20 days later was told they weren't shipped. Was told today they were shipping again, I am skeptical if I will ever see these. My advice is to pay an extra couple dollars and buy from a more competent store."
"I'm really suprised to see bad reviews here. We order things often from them online, even with shipping their prices are normally better then elsewhere (at least on the stuff I've seen, if they aren't I simply don't order that). We always get an email with shipping info & etc. We've twice needed to return an item, both times the return was our fault for not ordering the right thing but they didn't care, they took the product back (convienently in store for us here in town) for a full refund of the product cost & then helped us find what we did need. We've had very good luck with them it seems ;-) but either way I will definitly be shopping with them again. It's unfortunate they've been so terrible for others :("

"Ace hardware superstore has no business being in business! I placed an order on 4/8/12 and received email saying one of the items was not in stock and order was cancelled. I reordered minus the item that was out of stock and added a few basic paint supplies and again received email that 3 of these basic items was not in stock and if I want remainder of order I've to pay an additional $79.99 above the $17.36 in shipping charges. My order was small, weighed about 6lbs and totaled $52.59. What's worse I only live a few hrs from their store. There were other problems as well but you get the idea. Very unscrupulous!"

"Wow, I thought I was the only one that thought the customer service was completely ridiculous. I ordered a Gazebo at a fair price until I was sent a follow up email stating that I owed them an addition $12.95 on top of the already paid $24.94 shipping cost. Then I waited for days to receive my tracking information, which I never got. I got so pissed off that I started calling questioning about the tracking info. The customer service rep started acting like I was calling them for donatings, giving me the worst attitude you can imagine. I demanded to speak to the manager which made no difference. The sad thing is that there's millions of Americans that are unemployed and would appreciate having a job, you morons at Ace super center have no appreciation for what you have and also no understanding that it is us, the customers, that keep you idiots employed! I would NEVER do business with this company or recommend it to anyone."
"Worst online experience ever. Order a Braun Fan on Feb 17, Paid 203.67 plus 18.50 in postage. On Feb 21, they sent me an email stating I owed them an additional 19.99 for shipping. They claimed they didn't know at time of order what the shipping would be. So much for believing anything printed on their website"

I would rate the a ZERO ... feel bad for their order center as they just answer the phones.... But money is tight and getting ripped off is NOT a way to keep a loyal customer. 43.37 shipping on a 37.92 light weight order is a SCAM."

"I want to be fair to the people at this company. I know that many of these ratings give a very poor reflection of the company - and in some cases the company deserves it - but I'd like to state that my experience was in fact very pleasant.
I'd like to say that the company has a very bad website. I believe their online system approximates the shipping inaccurately, which is why everyone is unhappy with it. I called the company instead of placing my order online in order to find out there and then if I should pay more for shipping instead of finding things out a week later.
They did make me pay a little more than what the website calculated for shipping, but it was still quite cheap for the stuff I ordered. The items arrived and were in good condition, except that of the 40 lightbulbs I ordered, 1 came shattered and 1 came dead.
I had a very tight deadline...it was for a theater production and I had only something like one or two days of leeway. The folks at the company entertained my incessant phone calls and - at least verbally - processed my order in an expedited manner. I received my order on the "earliest estimated date", which was a great relief. "
"Awful customer service. After placing the order and paying shipping costs, I received an email 7 days later stating I had to pay an additional $29.99 for shipping. I was annoyed then, but paid it. I received an invoice but never got a tracking number. 5 days later I call asking about a tracking number, the asian lady said "she no have one, package already shipped." Another 5 days pass, and I call again, get put on hold for 10 minutes, then hung on but same asian lady. I call back being told that the problem is with UPS, and I should call them. Ace Hardware left off my apartment number that was clearly listed in the confirmation email from the package. I now have to drive 45 miles roundtrip to the distribution center to pick up my package. Great customer service! Highly recommend this company to everyone."
