"Absolutely a horrible experience. I ordered a well pump and paid with Discover and was told I would receive a confirmation on the purchase. Well, after two days I had not received the confirmation, but it was charged to my card. Sent an email asking about the item and finally got an email after almost a week stating it was back ordered and would take 10 to 14 days to ship. Called and left messages but no one ever called back. What big company has a cheap voice generated voice mail saying, "Please leave a message"? Finally I got someone that answered the phone and told her I needed the item ASAP and to please cancel the order. She said done, and started to hang up. I asked her to confirm that the order was cancelled and asked if she could send me a confirmation. Funny, but I had to ask instead of her telling me they would. I did get the email stating the order was cancelled and credited, but now it has been over three weeks and they have not credited my Discover card. I have contacted Discover and they have credited me the $356 and are now following up on the issue for me. I must say that after the first initial problem I went to this web site and saw over 50 reviews and the average rating for AceHardwareSuperStore.com was one star out of five. Most the reviews had almost the same experience! What a scam! Please, please, please, stay away from them! "

"Ordered a 7 1/4" blade for cutting hardiplank siding. I thought I had plenty of time to receive it (as I wanted to use it this upcoming weekend). They charged my credit card, but never shipped it. I contacted them via email and their response is that it is on backorder. All other decent online stores will inform you of that.

Now I'm scrambling."

"Horrible site. I wish I had looked here first.

I had the same experience as many of the reviewers have already said. I never received confirmation even though charge went through. Emailed and called and left messages several times with no response. I'm calling my credit card company today.

Stay away from this site."

"I've ordered online hundreds of times and never once had this horrible of an experience. I ordered a $150 item and received the standard, "We'll send you an email when your item has been shipped" email. 11 days later and I still have not received an email. I emailed to find the status of my response, and received nothing. I called the 2 numbers located on their website and was sent to an answering machine with the greeting, "Please leave a message". I immediately called my bank to get a new debit card and dispute the transaction for non-delivery of goods. This site is nothing but a sham to steal your money. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ACE HARDWARE SUPERSTORE! READ THE REVIEWS!!!!!!!"

"Do NOT be tempted by low advertised prices. My husband I comparison shopped for Thermoplastic tiles for our kitchen and ordered from this website because they offered the best value. After over a month of waiting for our product, and having received no confirmation of our order other than being charged over $700 to our credit card for the purchase, we sent an email. The response was that there was an additional $89.99 shipping charge because this was a "special order" item. NO where on the website was there any indication of this item being a special order item. The customer service representative I spoke to on the phone was rude, and blamed me for waiting 6 days after receiving the email instead of calling sooner, when they had lapsed over a month in sending it. They were unwilling to waive the hidden, additional charge despite the lapse in communication and the fact that they had our $700 for over a month without sending us a notice or our product. Watch out for this website, they are a disgrace to the ACE brand, and will likely try to zap YOU with extra charges and justify by saying the shipping calculated online says "estimated shipping.""

"I wish I had done my homework and searched for reviews for this site. I order a couple of low value items - pool floats - that showed in stock. My card was charged immediately. A few days went by without a shipping notification so I called and was told that the items are on a backorder and wouldn't be available for a few weeks. So I canceled the order and received an email confirmation immediately. 2 weeks later and still no credit to my card. I called the 888 number a few times. Each time, it went into a voicemail after a few rings. The voicemail didn't even state that it was Ace, it just stated: please leave a message. So I emailed them right away and then started the dispute procedure with my credit card."

"the summary: Do not do business with this store!!!!! They soil the Ace Hardware brand.

I placed an order. Next day, I noticed my card was charged. 6 days later I inquired about my shipping status. It wasn't shipped. I asked them to cancel my order and refund. I then received an email, "Per your request the order is cancelled, the credit card will be refunded." Credit card was never refunded. I had to file a claim with Amex. What a bunch of thieves. If you still want to use this vendor, read through the rest of the reviews. MANY BAD EXPERIENCES! RUN AWAY! I've forgotten to check reseller ratings on two new vendors in the last year and have been burned both times. Both had horrible reviews and I had bad experiences. Thanks to Amex for the dispute process! And thanks to reseller ratings for highlighting the many great retailers online and let the buyer beware of the bad apples.

It is possible that this web is nothing but a con. They charge your card and delay. How many people will wait until the time to dispute the charge has expired. It seems they are playing the odds and scamming people!It seems the BBB is not the right organization to contact. Read the rest of the reviews. It seem the stock response is, "the item is out-of-stock". Perhaps BBB is not the right organization to investigate. Perhaps it should be law enforcement!"

"Ace Hardware is the worst home improvement (online) store to shop at. I placed an order on a bird feeder; obliviously mispriced for $4.36 (MSRP: $20.00). I never got a call or email stating anything about it not being in-stock; but when i called them up, they said "I'm really sorry, but we are out of stock on that item." That's all, nothing else. When I asked for a refund, CS simply said "I'm really sorry, but I cannot issue you a refund." I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND JUST GO TO HOME DEPOT or LOWES.

(I disputed the charge on my credit card and got my money back )

I am happy now :)"

Complaint Description:
I placed a call to this business about my order (number 59081) that was placed on July 18, 2012. The site stated that the order would arrive in 3-10 business days. My order items cost a total of $11.33 and the shipping and handling was $13.84. Today, July 31, 2012, the order had yet to arrive and I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation email as was stated in my original order status email. The woman I spoke with on the phone (954-965-6973) told me that there was a back-order. When I asked which item was backordered, I was told all items were on back order (Sunbeam 4-cup coffee carafe $7.99, Hartz RawHide Mini Bones $1.85, Danco Hair Catcher with Microban $1.49). I asked if truly every one of those items was on backorder, as I was very surprised. I had not received any communication of this. I asked if I could receive some kind of discount for the extra time due to the prior shipping cost. I was told that this was not an option because of the value of my order. I was placed on hold after I told her that I was not trying to be rude but I again asked could I receive a discount in exchange for not having been contacted and the shipping. The woman then said maybe I wanted to cancel my order since I was having to wait. I told her that I still wanted the items but she put me on hold when I asked if the online business was a main website for Ace Hardware or a single store...no verbal response; just put on hold for twenty minutes. I hung up the phone and called back to receive a voicemail in two rings. I called again and the woman answered. I said I was the customer placed on hold and would like to speak to someone about my order. She said you want a discount and I don't know how I can help you. I responded asking how was placing me on hold for twenty minutes helping. She hung up the phone. I called back again and she answered. At this point in the call, I had no option to even ask for a refund because she continued to speak over me. I said I do not understand what the problem is, as I had not done anything wrong. She just repeated quickly 6 times over me, "How can I help you?" and hung up again. The woman's behavior towards me as a customer to her supposed business was evasive, inappropriate, and bizarre enough that I am not planning to deal with her directly anymore."

"Worst site ever. Ordered three items and waited. Never arrived and they never contacted me. When I finally contacted them I was told they were out of the item and wouldn't be replacing it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this site. "

"Worst online shopping experience ever. Placed a rather large order with Ace online. Never heard anything back from them for several weeks. When I sent an email inquiry I was told that a few of the items I ordered were on back-order and would not be shipped for another 10 days. Since I needed the product as soon as possible (workers were literally waiting in my house to start projects that were dependent on the materials in the order), I asked that they ship what they had in stock, while waiting for the back-order shipment. A few days later, I was sent a one line email saying they weren't willing to assist. After waiting another 10 days, I emailed them again to check on the status of the order, only to get another one line email several days later, stating that it would be another 10-14 days. I sent an email of extreme dissatisfaction to them, for which they seemed to care less. Ultimately, I just requested a refund. Thanks Ace for wasting nearly 2 months of my time! Hope you guys go out of business."

"I ordered attic fan on June 06 2012. To this day (07/10/2012) I do not receive ordered item!!!. The customer service is laying to me that is on "back order". They already charge my card for this item on June 07, 2012. I do not recomended this store to any person. "

"Straight up Bait and Switch.... the items were "in stock"
ready to "ship immediately", then 10 days after my card was dinged, I got the apparently standard email they send to everyone... "your item is a special order, therefore it will cost $110 extra dollars to ship it to us then you"

All this for items worth about 120 bucks.

Called them to cancel, got a low budget boiler room answering service, the lady said she would cancel my order immediately and send a confirmation number via email. Time will tell, I will update if possible but my warning is the same as the dozens of others i'm finding online....

"DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE!

I was given the shipping bait and switch. I was sent an email to authorize a higher shipping charge and I requested that my order be cancelled. I received an email stating that the order was canceled. Today, received another email with shipping confirmation of the cancelled order. A reply to a subsequent email said that I can't cancel the order and I should refuse shipment! I am pissed!"

"Wow. Yup. Every comment except the 5 stars is correct, I've ordered through them a few times, one time the products showed up 3 weeks later, the next time they showed up 3 days later, the next time ? we'll see when it arrives (going on 22 days). Called and was told, yup! shipping next week, called 6 days later, yup! shipping next week, I called bull$hit and she says ' oh! well if it hasn't shown up by weeks end, call me, *insert fake name* I'll make sure it's all set. OH yes, and all the managers are 'in a business meeting' or 'out to lunch' or dead, who knows.

LOL *sigh* mess with douche bags, and prepare to get dirty.
