"Three words: bait and switch. The old con game. I ordered a Canon Speedlite from AccessoryCircuit and after a week and a half the order was never filled. After reading lots of negative reviews online I surmised that, unlike Amazon.com (who I really do like btw) AccessoryCircuit advertises LOTS of merchandise that they don't actually have in stock. I called to cancel the order. I was told by AccessoryCircuit that my order was cancelled. 3 days later AccessoryCircuit attempted to bill my credit card. I had to call them just now to cancel my order again. This time I got a confirmation email that my order was cancelled. I would NEVER do business with these shady characters again. NEVER AGAIN!"
"The same, Order a canon 43mm, and a Crystal Optics filter kit. They call me offering a Crystal Vision Ltd Ed. Hi Def lens instead the Canon because it was backorder. They would lower the price of this lens for the inconvenience and also because the week I placed the order they had a discount on all lenses. I go for it. They sent me an confirmation mail with the canon lens in the invoice, I request a new updated invoice with the new lens. Rebecca from customer services respond, "You will receive it soon!" I never get the email. After a week I receive the package with the invoice inside detailing a CRYSTAL OPTICS 3 PIECE MULTI COATED, MULTI TREADED DELUXE CLASS FILTER KIT and the CRYTAL VISION LIMITED EDITION HIGH DEFINITION 43mm WIDE w/MACRO. Inside the package was: A Digital Concept lens and a Bower filter kit!!!! WTF. I 'm Amateur-Pro, I already have that lens. That was the first lens I used in my life, I got it for $20, NOW I HAVE THE SAME ONE FOR $145!!! --- a Bower kit?????? Are you blind???? look the invoice and look what you sent me!. I send a mail, they told me that they where the same manufacturer, (I asked SAKAR, the manufacturer of Digital Concepts, and they tell me they were not the same guys that manufacture the CV) Again I wrote them, Rebecca left her number and ext. so I call her, She was never available. The third day I called, someone told me call tomorrow and speak with Peter. The other day Peter leaves me 15 min on hold (hang up because im calling from PR long distance) I called again and Lisa offer me a $50 credit, because the lens cant be returned. I lost $125 for a $15 lens and a $11 filter kit.
No canon lens, no crystal vision lens, no crystal optics filter kit, and a repeated digital concept lens. It's very disappointing and frustrating. I'm student with a 25 hour part time, much to say that I lost one check in a blink of an eye, plus 14 days of anxiety and miscommunication, plus a telephone bill that I don't want to open. I finally speak with someone at the 17th day- BE AWARE they only give 14 days for refund***STARTING THE ORDER DATE, NOT THE ARRIVING DATE*** Anyone know if this can be reported to an Investigation agency???
"Scam!! You place your order. The next day they call and offer a different brand( way over priced) when you tell them NO they say it's on back order and charge your credit card. Then 2 weeks later they send an e-mail telling you that they can't get the merchandise. They never could in the first place. They still have it listed as in stock on their website. Hard to believe that they purchased all of canons speed lights . don't waste your time!!"
"On 11/25/11 I ordered a Nikon SB-600 flash because their price was the best. I received a call that the item is out of stock and will take 3-5 weeks and whether I will take a better flash for less. I said I will wait as I was buying it for myself and did not mind getting it after Christmas. Then I also added a set of Hoya lens filters. They did not try to switch me to another brand of filters even though they were out of stock on that item as well. Then they charged my card. So I was happy thinking that they have shipped my order but when I called and emailed they said they were sorry about that but my order will be shipped on December 20th and they will expedite the shipping at no extra charge. On 20th I was informed that they did not get the merchandise and it will take couple more weeks. I asked them to cancel my order for a refund. They immediately cancelled the order and told me that they will process my refund. However, their email states that if I do not see a credit in my card account I need to dispute the charges with my bank. I thought that was weird since I never had to do that for any order cancellation or return. So I have disputed the charges and waiting for my bank to resolve this matter with AccessoryCircuit.com. Their sales and customer service people were nice and friendly and have not given me any problem except they charged my card but without shipping my order. Now on, I will read the merchant review before I order in future. I will not order from this AccessoryCircuit.com or recommend them to anyone. "
"SCAM ALERT!!!! Bought a Canon flash and they called and said they had a better flash available because the Canon was out of stock. BAIT & SWITCH! I told them I wanted the Canon flash and they said they finally received the order, but it was damaged. SCAM!!! STAY AWAY!!!!"
ordered Nikon flash (website stated in stock) ... then they called and said out of stock, but sent a "better" flash ... one that retailed at half the price but THEIR website listed for twice retail. BOGUS!!! STAY AWAY!!!
Customer service was rude, unprofessional and condescending. told me that i "didn't know what i was talking about!"
I ordered a 60mm lens and later received a phone call saying they didnt have that lens, but a for $100.00 more they had a BETTER lens and they could get my order out that afternoon. I was in the middle of picking up my son from school and caught of guard and responded, ok whatever. *assuming* I would just exchange it if it wasnt what I wanted since I didnt order that particular lens.
No mention of "all sales final" during my entire order process, not during the phone call, not on any of my receipts, NOTHING. He did not say at all "this is NON_REFUNDABLE" What scammers!!!
I email customer service very nicely and her 4 word response to me was less than professional. I then ask for her supervisor, I call "steve" and he proceeds to talk over me the whole time spouting no returns no no and I get frustrated because he is not listening to me! I was UPSOLD and not informed about a no-return policy. He hangs up on me. I call again, he hangs up. I call again, he hangs up. I call their California office number, he answers and says this is "jeffery" I say, May I speak....and he cuts me off and says he is not talking to me, conversation over, have a nice life and hangs up on me again.
Im so livid im shaking. This is a $500.00 lens that I do not want and did not select to order.
I have submitted a dispute with American Express and I plan to do a lot of praying that they see how I was totally railroaded. I also plan to contact the BBB.
I should have googled them first!!!! i know better!!! shame on me.
"Accessory Circuit accepted my order for an sb-900 at a very low price and an su-800 at a normal on-line retail price. Within 2 days they e-mailed to indicate that it would be 3-5 weeks before they could ship. I elected to wait, called in early August and was told that they still weren't in stock. It's August 26 and my call to them today resulted in the same response, 3- 5 more weeks. I asked to speak to a supervisor (Robert) and learned that they have no way to know when the items will be available. No charges on my card yet, so I'll cancel this order and order from someone reputable."
"Everyone is right...these guys are a bait and switch shop. I ordered a discontinued Nikon SB 600 flash from them for a good price, figuring they had some overstock leftover. I received a call several days later that there was an issue with the order.
I called back and they advised the units were backordered from Nikon. THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE LIE, as Nikon has long since discontinued making these units and certainly wasn't sending out new shipments. They tried to upsell me to an off-brand unit at a higher price.
In short, these guys are a bunch of fraudsters, lying about having inventory in stock on their site when I ordered and then lying about expecting a new shipment in 4-6 weeks. They should be shut down, or at least fined by their state attorney general.
"Accessory Circut is one of the worst companies to deal with. It is a Scam... I, like others, ordered the 430exii and was told they were "out of stock". One of the phone reps even told me up front that they would not be "getting any more in", as if they already had some. The supervisor Micahel Stephens was awful and rude, like I'm sure he is to everyone who he cannot rip off. Do NOT buy from them! It is a price "too good to be true"."

"This business is a biiiiiig faaaaat liar. I placed an in stock order on their site. And they called me to persuade me to buy another brand of similar product. When I didn't change my mind, instead of telling me the product is out of stock, I can't believe they told me it is backordered and I'll have to wait 4/5 weeks. They have been lying since this point!!!!! They want to play the game that after 4/5 weeks, I'll forget and leave them alone. The only thing I can say is how stupid besides unethical these people are.
During the followup process, they keep telling me another 4/5 weeks as you know. And seeing that I am persistent enough, they finally told me it is out of stock. How stuuuuupid...
Don't ever buy from such business ever and watch out the authorities chase after them...."
"My story is like so many others. I ordered a Canon 430 Speedlight flash because they advertise it lowest out of every company. Keep in mind, I used to sell electronics on a website for 3 years, so I'm very knowledgeable of how a business like this works.
Sure enough, the same day someone called saying it was backordered 4-6 weeks and they suggested going with a Sigma flash. I took the bait because I was in a rush, couldn't research more, and trusted the rep that I was getting a "better" flash that was "more for my money".
The flash they were going to give me was the Sigma 610 DG (confirmed by Rebecca from customer service in an email), which MSRP at $165. Accessory Circut had it "on sale" for $268.
I looked at their website and noticed they were hiding the model number (did not list it anywhere) and the picture of the flash was too small to read the model number.
At this point I wrote an email to Rebecca stating I want my order immediately canceled and I will file complaints with the DA, SA, BBB, FTC, blah blah.
Michael Stevens, customer service manager, called me to say I was mistaking that the flash I was to get was the Sigma 610 DG Super. I researched this and the MSRP is $255, still $13 less than the "sale price" on AccessoryCircut.com.
I ask him about all the bad reviews and he claimed that there is a company called "Reputation Armor" that is falsely writing all these bad reviews on Ripoff report just so they can charge him $50 to remove them.
I asked him why they do not list the model number on the web page of the Sigma flash and he said "because there is the same flash for different cameras.." Something like that which made little sense.
I asked him why, after so many complaints and knowing that he will not have the Canon flash for 4-6 weeks, he does not list the item as "out of stock." He said, "we do but our database must not have updated yet."
I'm sure anyone reading this agrees, these are all bullsh*t excuses in hopes for ignorant people to buy them.
So far, he has agreed to ship me the Sigma 610 DG Super flash and refund my card $50. About 20 minutes after speaking with me, I received two emails, one with a tracking number, and one from Michael:
"Hi as we spoke on the phone we have issued a $50.00 refund to your americanexpress account we have also dent you the sigma 610 dg super Flash for the canon camera you have a no questions asked 14 day refund
Michael stevens Customer Service Mgr 1-866-475-9740 EXT 301 www.AccessoryCircut.com "
After researching the Sigma 610 DG Super, it receives great reviews, even compared wit the Canon. The suspicious thing is that most major online retailers do not have any in stock, including Amazon and Adorama Photo, so we will see what happens.
The point is, this company, Accessorycircut.com is as bait-and-switch as they get, but it seems if you threaten them enough about complaining, canceling orders, and charging back credit cards, they will respond favorably. I will update this review once the transaction is complete.
**Update** The $50 credit I was promised did go through on 3/2/11
**Update** I received my order in new condition. They delivered as promised. Still sticking with one star because companies like this should go underground quick. Its hard enough to make an honest buck to buy things like this, let alone having people out there try to scam you on top of that.

"A big big scam, don't fall for the discounted prices because they can't deliver...
I have ordered an sb600 on the 13th of Jan . I have gotten a call on Friday morning the 14th stating that I need to call back ... It is about my order.. Called back at 11:00 am san Francisco time and I got the message stating that they are sorry to be closed at this time , but thier regular business hours are are Monday to Friday till 6:00 pm Estern time???? I Figured that was odd so I went on line and started reading all the nightmare reviews of. ( Accessory circuit.com)
-The item Is not in stock and it going to be around 6 weeks or more for delivery ( which was stated by many bad reviewers out there. The information given was almost identical to other reviewers.
-They recommend the Vivitar brand which is suposadly as good if not better. I asked him the next flash up the sb900 they didn't have that neither? Also six weeks because it is on a national backorder .....big BS
- I have asked to cancel that order ... And now we are in the process of dealing with that , trying to get my money back ----
Wish me luck and don't make the same mistake ... RY
