"This company does not live up to it's promises. They promised me an upgrade to Office 2010 almost a year ago. I've spent countless hours on the phone waiting, speaking to them, and writing them. Their president is Nathan Jones at nathan_jones@academicsuperstore.com but he doesn't even bother responding to emails and won't get on the phone. BUYER BEWARE!!! This company should be out of business soon!"

"I won't repeat what so many other reviewers have said accurately. In summary, Academic Superstore must be on its last legs, because the entire operation is crumbling. I ordered once from them a year ago, and they were OK. I ordered again from them this month, and experienced disorganization and disaster.

But there is hope! Simply realize that you can get the same exact price from Adobe's company web site, and deal with competent and caring customer support. You need to deal with Adobe anyway in order to get a serial number to unlock your student/teacher edition, so why not just order from them in the first place, do it all in one step, and save yourself hassle."

"Simply HORRIBLE customer service. I wanted to purchase four copies of MS Office for my students. Had to wait on hold for 1/2 hour to speak to someone (with a bad accent) who told me that I couldn't have four copies....would I like to change it to one?. Wait a minute, I have FOUR students. No one I spoke to could actually help me. Seriously, save yourself trouble and go over to studentdiscounts.com. Very nice and worked with me to figure out what they needed as far as identification for my students."

"STAY AWAY! These guys are unreliable and you will never be able to get to them, email or otherwise. We were trying to purchase a camera for our child's photography class use. We provided all our payment information and after a week of waiting for confirmation of shipment, our order number still indicates the order in process!!! We called, we emailed and did everything we could and not a word from Academic Superstore. They are either a scam or they are going out of business, so be very careful if you do have to order from them. We actually ended up at Best Buys and got an even better price, so check before you go to these guys."

"I am very dissapointed with Acedemic Superstore. I payed extra money to have my products sent to me overnight. I did not receive my product overnight, so I tried to contact somebody and nobody answered or replied to my emails. I want to know why i havent received my products, ide like my money back for shipping, and noticed 2 of the 5 items are still 'processing' not happy."

"Customer service could BARELY speak English! ugh!!! Then I paid for overnight shipping, with the understanding they need to verify my status as a student, my order was placed on Tuesday and it's Friday! Called their customer service - my order has been sent to the shipper but she has no clue when it will actually be shipped! REGARDLESS if I paid $19.50 for overnight shipping!!

Will NOT do business with the company again!!! "

"My purchase is turning into a NIGHTMARE! - Was told the product would ship in 3-5 days but now 11 days later they tell me the product hasn't shipped- They can't tell me anything- I have called several times with the promise they'll get back to me - Finally I attempted to cancel the order but was told I would have to wait a week because both supervisors were in the Phillipines! ¿No one was left in charge? I can only hope to get my credit card company to block the charge -"

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE!!!!!

I have ordered the new Microsoft package (the download version) from them on 12/10 and still have not received the link to download it! I had called a few weeks ago to see what exactly what I needed to do to get "verified" so when my new laptop came in, there wouldn't be a problem downloading the program. I was told that if my school was listed, then there wouldn't be a problem with my "verification" and that I didn't need to send anything in after all. Upon questioning the customer service about this, she again reiterated that everything would be fine, and that as soon as my computer came in, I'd be able to automatically download the program after the purchase. WRONG!!!! I've been waiting for going on 3 days now for them to "Verify" my order and "Process" my order. When I called customer service to see exactly what was going on, I spoke to a VERY RUDE gentlemen that basically blamed ME for the miscommunication on my order. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that I couldn't "because they were too busy, and there is no one else". SERIOUSLY!!! This company is a RIP OFF and their customer service is AWFUL! I've honestly never been spoken to like that by a customer service representative before. I will NEVER use this company again for any future services. Oh, I should receive the link for my download "sometime today, possibly tomorrow"...we'll see!!"

"Order from at your own risk. I have been trying to contact customer service for two days and have been on hold for more than an hour each time. I never got through to customer service. I am now going to have my credit card company decline the charge and see if that gets a response."

"Academic Superstore provided a painful and prolonged lesson in failure. They require a letter of verification for academic customers, which I provided and faxed to them. Two days later they claimed never to have received it, so I scanned it and emailed it to them. Two days later they had not approved my order. A call to them left me on hold for 10 minutes, and then resulted in some confusion and finally approval of my order. The salesman warned me that the item I wanted was out of stock, but would be in stock the following Monday. Today, Tuesday, I called to check on the status. I spent another 10 minutes on hold, and then reached a rep who said that she had no idea when the item would be in stock, and it would be a minimum of four days after that before I'd recieve my item. I then canceled the order, or more to the point began the cancellation process. Apparently it can take several business days to cancel an order.

A six minute call with another, much more reputable reseller, and I will have my item on Thursday. I will never do business with Academic Superstore aka Gradware again, and will suggest avoiding them to anyone else in the market.

Update: In spite of me calling to cancel the other yesterday (10/5), I found out today (10/6) that they have shipped the order. Now I a must refuse the delivery when it arrives. I am beginning to suspect malice vs. incompetence."

"I ordered the Autodesk Educational Suite 2011 from the Academic superstore. I did not receive a tracking number after the product was shipped. I called the customer service hotline 7 days later and waited 15 minutes listening to a comedian telling jokes. It is so confusing to tell the difference between the comedian and the rep. When I finally connected with a rep, they took 5 mins to look up the order and then didn't give me enough information as to where the package is or which company is delivering the package. After I get the tracking number the rep ends up disconnecting the line. I sure hope this company reads the reviews because they need some massive improvement on customer service and allowing the buyer to see the tracking number. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else to buy your programs. This store isn't worth the hassle."

"I am a professor at my community college. I ordered Microsoft Office Professional on a Monday. My order showed in-stock, but when I called on that Wednesday to ask about my order I found out its backordered from Microsoft. I paid for next day air for delivery which the order shipped out on Friday and I waited until Monday the following week for it to arrive.
I will add the response I received from Academic Superstore:
“Product shipping estimates will be shown on all product pages under the price. This item had gone on backorder so there was a delay on the shipping. However, selection of an upgraded shipping option will not alter the availability of an item. This will only change the shipping method that is used when the item is actually shipped”
This was told to me after the product shipped; notice that is says went on backordered. I was never told this until I called that Wednesday and was told it will ship out on Thursday not Friday.
I would stay away from this company for there are many more places to buy your software from then here! I will be writing Microsoft about this since they list this vender to buy from and let them know how they (Academic Superstore) are tarnishing Microsoft.

"If you enjoy being on hold for extensive periods of time to finally reach a very rude customer service agent this is the store for you.
But wait there is more! When they use drop shipment orders they provide no tracking numbers to you so you can also experience the adenolin coursing thru your body wondering where your order is. When and if your order does show up you may have the wonderful experience of driving 50 mins to pick it up because they delivered it to the wrong address.
Need I say more
