"I bought a Sekonic light meter from this company. The meter had some problem within the 30 days of purchase.

I contacted their customer service department but the rep who handled my call was not helpful. Then I sent an email to this company. Supprisingly, the second day, their customer service manager, Jason, called me and appologized to me. He also explained their policy to me and offered a solution.

His effort changed my opinion of this company. I think this company indeed care of its customers. I'd like to shop from them again.

"I purchased a TCP65VT50 from Abes and I couldn't be happier with the service provided. Very easy communication with them and their customer service definitely deserves 5 stars! I was amazed how their offers were great, and they always put me, as a customer on the first place. I already recommended them to many of my friends and relatives. The TV works properly, and they always stand behind their products. I can tell you that at least 99% of their product are of GREAT quality. There's is no way I could be more satisfied with any other merchant, ANYWHERE. It is simply amazing. Their policy is - The customer is always right! I would definitely buy from them again! Their prices are great for the quality they offer. If Abes have the product you’re looking for – Make sure you buy it."

"Abes of Maine is definitely one of the best online retailers around. I needed my TV for a party I was having for new years. I called on 12/26 saying I need it by new years and the website stated 5-6 business days, There was no way I can receive it on time if I order it on the web.
I called James and he made sure to get me my TV on time with no extra charge. Some online retailers would just take your credit card number and not follow up but Abes of Maine is for sure one of the best out there. They followed up and got me my Sharp TV on time"

"I ordered a Panasonic 55" VT50 on 12/13/2012.
Alfred called me within 1 hour of placing my order to notify me that my credit card got declined. I called the bank because they just placed a hold on my card to make sure it was me using the credit card because I have a $1,000 limit.
Anyways I am very happy with the service and product I received. The TV was priced much cheaper then the leading competitors and the service too."

"I have to say that I was a little worried that I had not done my homework (which normally I usually do!) after reading some of the posts here and there on the net. Mine turned out to be a pretty good experience. I was looking for a new dishwasher in black and was unhappy with offerings at my local Sears store, which drove my search to the internet to try and find what I wanted. I went through American Airlines Shopping to see if I could get airline points as well for my purchase which is how I came across Abe's of Maine. The purchase came with free shipping (I ended up paying for their *white glove service*, more about that later), a free Restaurant.com gift certificate, $40 rebate, plus the mileage. I liked all of these things, so I ordered the machine late on the 23rd and actually got a call on the 24th about the delivery. That started a little odd as I'm not used to ppl bartering with me about shipping. The gentleman who called said that the delivery that came with the machine would mean the dishwasher would just be dropped off. Of course we could get this *white glove service* for an extra $120 and he would give us another $100 Restaurant.com card. I told him we were good with it being dropped off, even though I had requested a phone call first. The guy came back with another offer of something like $79 and I told him no, just have them drop it off. Next thing I know, we are down to $49. At that point, I called my hubby in to take the call. I was a little worried about it just being left at this point or not coming at all. Hubby decided he really wanted a pinpointed time so we took the offer.

I was called on the 27th to arrange delivery and ask if I wanted the machine installed or a service policy. They gave a time frame of 8 to12 and this has to be the first time that we were given a time frame that was actually honored on the early side! Plus one for Abe's! The installation and service policy was a no as my hubby is well versed in home repairs and the like. The machine is in and I really like how quiet it is! It came with no damage and my hubby did a little changing of this and that, but it's top notch. It has been registered and we are using it already. Other than the delivery issue, I still feel like I got a better deal than what was being offered at my local Sears or Best Buy. While I will say I'm not much on pushy, they were certainly less pushy than the local HH Gregg store here in town. I'm happy....guess my only complaint is if they need to have delivery paid for, but want to offer it *free*, they need to add that somewhere....that's the only reason I am giving them four stars opposed to five. The sale itself couldn't have been easier!"

"I purchased from Abes of Maine MANY times before. Each time I go back, the staff treat me like a Million Bucks !!!!
I just purchased from Abes a Samsung UN46ES7500 Television and received it within 3 business days!!!
I called there toll free number and spoke with a sales rep named Diane, and she had a bunch of coupons that she applied on my order to save me even MORE money (as if they didn't have the lowest price on the tv already).
I love Abes of Maine for there care and support they've always had for me over the past 10 years that I have been purchasing from them.
I do recommend Abes of Maine to EVERYBODY!!!

"Abe's of Maine was only price competitive with several other websites because they were offering a "restaurant gift card" they valued at $100. The card turned out to be virtually worthless, and in fact, I now will not even bother to redeem it or try to sell it on eBay (their $100 cards will usually bring between $3 and $6 on eBay, and you have to pay the eBay listing fees and Paypal payment processing fees out of that, and then risk receiving negative feedback once the buyer realizes you sold them a virtually worthless item).

I also feel scammed on their "white glove" delivery service. I ordered by phone and was told the TV would be individually strapped to it's own pallet, thus being handled more gently, etc. It was delivered loose inside a large delivery truck, only protected by the manufacturer's packaging, same as standard delivery. Also "white glove" to Abe's includes no set up (they will only bring it just inside the front door, and won't even attach the stand to the TV). I've had numerous standard "curbside" deliveries in the past, they have always been willing to bring items to my choice of the front door or garage door, so I basically flushed $80 down the toilet for "white glove" service.

Delivery was also a bit slow. I was told it would arrive in 7-10 days, but it was about 2 weeks. Also while filing a BBB complaint, I saw a notice on the BBB website that Abe's of Maine has filed for reorganization protection in Bankruptcy court."
