"A sales person from aaacamera.com told me the item was in stock (Canon binoculars) and that he would send it. They charged my credit card immediately. After 4 weeks they still did not deliver the binoculars. A lot of phone calls and emails did not help. However, I am disputing the money know. I will never ever order again from this company. "

"This is a copy of the letter sent by me to AAACamera.
Lori King

I'm very disappointed in your service; I phoned to verify that you had the product that I wanted, and when you confirmed that you had the product on hand, I was requested to place the order on line.
It's been more than a week and I you still have not shipped the camera that I ordered from you. This e-mail is to inform you that this order is cancelled by me as of May 18, 2003. Do not send the merchandise on Monday 5/19/2003 as stated in our phone conversation last week. If this order is filled it will be returned at your expense and American Express will be notified to reverse the charges. I checked your rating on www.resellertratings.com and you have a poor rating of (.71) on a scale of 1-10. After the constant delays in shipping this product to me, I can now see that this rating is a true representation of your company.
By the way, my business partner ordered a camera from B&H the same time I ordered this one from you, and he received his camera two days later.

"I, unfortunately made the mistake of ordering a nikon lens from this company. I always appreciate that buying on mail order, especially over the internet can be hazardous but this company at first sight appeared respectable.

Since I put my order in and paid my cheque over, I discovered the numerous complaints against them. Needless to say, I have been subjected to similar excuses and tactics that other complainers have encountered when they contacted the company.

I notice that a lot of the complaints are from overseas customers and those that have paid by cheque. I fall into this category.

What amazes me is that this company appears to have been ripping people off for years yet they are allowed to continue unchecked.

Naturally, I am keen to ensure that something is done to curtail their activities thus I am interested in joining any legal action against them. "

"This company is run by a bunch of ignorant fools. Placed an order on 3/25/03 and never received confirmation of my order.Called several times and was put on hold or hung up on. Two weeks later I finally get hold of someone and cancel my order. I then receive the package 2 days later via overnight express. BUT I HAD ALREADY CANCELLED THE ORDER. I called AAA back and they refuse to take item back and after much argument the ignorant fellow at AAA tells me he will take item back for restocking fee. My credit card company is now handling the matter. AAA is a bargain basement operation at best."

"Overall, they did a pretty darned good job. We had a mistake in the shipping, but they quickly corrected it. I got a good deal on some great Leica binoculars. I talked to a live person every time I called. The only negative was that they did not respond to my emails in a timely fashion, but WERE working on fixing the problem.

I would and do plan on ordering a Nikon spotting scope from them in the future.

Doug"

"Awful Awful Awful...Someone needs to shut these guys down. I ordered a waterproof case for my camera on January 15th 2003....My shipment never game...they kept giving excuses, saying it was backordered, or that they'd ship it out immediately. As soon as I realized I was not going to receive my order, I proceeded to call them up every day to demand my money back (on my credit card)....well...that only took a month and a half. Finally today, 3-14-03, my money was credited back to my card....NEVER order from them.....EVER! (Unless you want a lot of unneeded frustration in your life)"

"Ahh, another unsatisfied customer. I ordered 12/9/02 and just received partial shipment yesterday (3/13/03). One of the items they sent is wrong and they have yet to credit my card for the one item I canceled and they didn't send.

It has been a few months of "we already sent it", then "we'll put a trace on it", then "we'll send it this afternoon".

So, I'll be trying to get my $239.95 refund on a lens that they didn't have in stock and replace a $39.94 lens caddy with the correct one.

If you're thinking about ordering from these guys. Think again.

UPDATE: After continually calling AA Camera to request my refund and getting nothing, I finally called American Express. It took them about a month, but I got my money back. I will certainly never, ever, order from these swindlers again.

"I hereby join you guys, and consider myself being ripped off...
More than threee months ago I ordered two lenses($1463.63). Today after much trouble dealing with AAACamera and their salesmen behaving quite suspiciously, I still have not seen any lenses. Since I am now starting to believe that there is little chance to actually get the goods I have ordered and paid for, I would now like to get a refund. But I have paid via wire transfer, and therefore I don't have the possibility to let my credit card company handle the situation. I realise that this makes it tougher for me, but I won't give up on this, and I would be very grateful for any help you can give me.
This is the story:

02/12/02 I orderd two lenses. Total amount $1463.38 incl. shipping cost. The sales person confirmed that the lenses were in stock at the time.
I sent the payment with wire transfer later the same day.

06/12/02 I e-mailed AAACamera to check that the payment had arrived, and it had.
Unfortunately the lenses were now out of stock, but the salesman offered an upgrade to a more exclusive version at the price of an extra total of $170. Since I suspected that he was just opportunistic, I stuck with the original version. He believed that the original version of the lenses would come in "in a week or so".
I contacted the maker of the lenses, and they claimed that the lenses only come in one version! (as I had expected)

17/12/02 I e-amiled AAACamera again to check, but the lenses were still not in stock. Of course the salesman stated that the more exclusive version was in stock and that he would be able to send two pieces right away. I refused.

....
[Several e-mails back and forth]
....

20/01/03 Lenses still not in.

03/01/03 I Decided to order the more exclusive version, as I was getting sick of waiting. I E-mailed AAACamera about the matter, and they replied quickly that they had lenses in stock and that they would put two lenses aside for me if I decided to upgrade.

04/02/03 I sent the additional $170 via wire transfer.

07/02/03 The payment arrived to AAACamera:s account (My bank has checked this with AAACamera:s bank).

XX/02/03 Mailed several times to AAACamera to check that the payment had arrived and that they had sent the lenses. No answer.

03/03/03 Called AAACamera. Apparently they had recieved the payment, they were about to send the lenses that same afternoon. I was told to call back just before closing time to get a tracking number for the package, I did so and got a tracking number. Of course, this tracking number turned out invalid!!

04/03/03 Called back again to see what was up with my order, this time acting as if I had not spoken to them the day before, hence without a tracking number. Also this afternoon they were about to send the package!

Since this call made me even more suspicious, I did not confront them with the fact that I felt that something was wrong. I thought that if they were trying to rip me off, then it was best not to let them know that I was suspecting anything bad.

So, this is the situation today. I am not sure that I am being ripped off, but since so many ripped off customers are all telling a story that so well resembles mine, I get a very bad feeling.
Anyway, I will never ever quit chasing these guys until I get my money back (or my lenses).

I would be very grateful for any advice and tips you can give me. My mail: westberg@mtek.chalmers.se "
