"This is a disreputable company. How they run their business may be illegal, if not, it should be. I don't have any "axe to grind" with this company, I just don't want anyone else to get screwed like I almost did.
My experience was very similar to the other bad experiences that people have described here. After placing my order I received an email from 24hrdigital to call them so that they could "verify" the order. As others have said, this verification was really a sales pitch to sell me unnecessary accessories. I don't know whether they were over-priced or not. They said the standard battery included with the camera was only a "30 minute" battery, whatever that means, and I really needed to order an upgraded battery for $42. FYI, Nikon says the standard battery is good for approx. 210 shots, which I think should be adequate for most people. They also tried to sell me an 8GB memory card for another $42. Again, probably way more than the average consumer needs. I agreed to purchase both of these accessories but called backed later to cancel when I realized I didn't need them. They continued to try to sell the options and haggle about the price. When I said no, they informed me of a $35 shipping insurance fee for the original order that, regardless of their assertions, was not clearly indicated, maybe in the fine print somewhere, but this extra charge was not shown either in the invoice when I completed my order or in the "order details" that they emailed me. I should have known something wasn't right when I couldn't print a copy of the invoice.
Don't take a chance on the excuses included in their responses here. There are plenty of other places to shop. Shop elsewhere."
