"I initially purchased from 1stopcamera.com due to the high ratings on resellerratings.com and their low price, but was very disappointed with the service I received.
Timeline:
Dec 2: order Blanco Meridian Semi Professional Kitchen Faucet. Availability stated: ships within 24-48 hours. Within a few hours the order status went from processing to routed to the shipping department.
Dec 8th: Having seen no updates to my order status on their site, I sent an inquiry using their online chat (no one was online, but I left a message) They promptly responded back stating that my order would be released on 12/17. Kind of sucks that it initially said the availability was 24-48hrs.
Dec 22nd: After getting no updates whatsoever, I contacted their online customer service again asking for an update. They promptly responded back that I would receive tracking info within 24-48 business hours. So much for released on 12/17.
Dec 30th: Called customer service to see what was going on. Customer service rep informed me that Blanco had closed their warehouse to take year end Inventory and would not ship until 2010. I then reminded him that I ordered this on 12/2 and that this was supposed to have already shipped. He apologized and said he would have it sent overnight the following week when Blanco's warehouse reopened. Fair enough I guess, I took him for his word.
Jan 11th: NOTHING received, no online updates of status, so I called customer service back, they said they had not received the item from Blanco yet. I asked if they could find out what happened, they obliged. I was instructed to call back the next day. They promised they would ship out via 2 day air when they received it (not as good as the overnight they initially promised but whatever).
Jan 12th: Called to get an explanation of what was taking so long, they said their order with Blanco got lost and they had to reorder. They said they expected to get late next week and then they would ship out using 3 DAY SHIPPING! So much for Overnight! LOL! In all fairness, I did tell the rep of these shipping discrepancies and he offered to give me 2 day air again.
My countertops are scheduled to be put in next week so I ended up cancelling my order and paying expediting shipping through another vendor just to make sure I have my faucet in time.
Update 1/13/2010 8:30pm: Received a call from 1stop basically apologizing for what has happened and explaining that the product was truly not available. Withholding my final rating until I do a little more research.
**Update 1/14/2010 Inquired of Blanco regarding the availability of this faucet and they indeed said it was out of stock and only available for shipping to vendors who had ordered it.
**Update 1/14/2010 As promised, my item was shipped by the new vendor, tracking info has been received. Only took them 1 day to get this. I'm not saying they could have got it in one day if I ordered back in December, but they delivered as promised and sent me several emails along the way regarding the status.
I't doesnt sound like what has happened here is totally the fault of 1stopcamera.com but they definitely could have done a better job of communicating along the way. I don't think your first call received from a vendor should be damage control due to poor feedback received. If you guys put the kind of time into this before I cancelled my order instead of after, I'm sure everything would have been fine. Sorry it didn't work out."
