Terrible Company! I purchased a head unit for my boat. I paid for 3 day shipping. I saw they did not ship it for 2 days making it a 5 day shipment. When contacted I was put on hold forever then treated with no respect and the agent was very rude. They couldn't help me I was told.
The unit arrived and install. It was Defective. I immediately called them. I was willing to ship back overnight so they could send me one. Again took forever to get someone on the phone. They refused. They told me to send it back and they would send it to the manufactorer for repairs then it would be sent to me. If it couldn't be fixed they would refund. Average turn around time was 6-9 weeks! I was then told the best way to get a new one is to buy a brand new one and pay out of pocket for shipping and they will mark the account that the old one was being returned.
Obviously this wasn't acceptable. They referrend me to the GM who did not return calls or emails. When I finally did get him on the phone I was told "I should have read their policies and there is nothing he can do"
After reading many other reviews seems like a constant scam they have going one.
BEWARE!!!!

We greatly regret any inconvenience this transaction may have caused. Before moving forward, there are some things we feel should be noted.
The shipping method you choose at check out is exactly that, your shipping method. It does not affect verification time, processing time, or anything that happens prior to your order being shipped. This is the case no matter which online merchant you use.
In addition, it is clearly stated on our website that all orders require 48 hours processing time.

At onlinecarstereo.com we strive to ship most of our orders the day it was placed or within 12 hours. A vast majority of our orders do ship within that time but we do not make any official guarantees that they will.
Regarding your defective item return.
The 6-9 week warranty processing time is a blanket average that all of our customer service representatives are required to provide. Most of our warranty returns are handled within a few days of being checked into the system.
Some manufacturers do not allow us to do over-the-counter exchanges for "DoA" or defective items simply because a large amount of the items returned as DoA or defective show no signs of defects and the problem is usually caused by improper installation.

I purchased the above item for $224.00 in October as a gift for Christmas. The item was defective. After Christmas I immediately notified OnLineCarStereo "Customer Service" of the same and was treated in an extremely rude manner on the telephone. As instructed, I returned the defective item at my expense ($19.45). I indicated via telephone and numerous emails that I DID NOT want a replacement/repair as the product is of very poor quality. On January 29, 2009 I received an email from OnLineCar Stereo Customer Service indicating that they would issue a store credit. I was waiting for the same to be processed. I sent 9 emails to Customer Service on this matter and NEVER received a response and also telephoned. In the meantime, what I would assume is my repaired unit arrives by UPS which I explicity told them I did not want. On 02/24/09 I tried callling Customer Service..... 16 times in fact. The two times I almost got a real person I had already been on hold 4 minutes and almost 5 respectively. The two times I heard someone pick up the line and voices, I got hung up on. I do a great deal of ordering online, personally and my company, and have been for over ten years. I can honestly say this company has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever come across in that time. Poor, very poor. Word of advice, they should remove the advertised "friendly" customer service language from their site.

Its been one of the most frustrating shopping experience I ever had.
I ordered two pairs of speakers, they only shipped me only one pair. I called them many times, but they put me on hold for any where from 20 mins to 60 mins on the hold.

I was VERY disappointed in the service provided by onlinecarstereo.com.
I placed on order on the website on Dec 3rd and received an immediate E-mail notification of the order. I figured all was going well until I received another E-mail on Dec 12th that the item was out of stock and on backorder. Why did it take 9 days to let me know it was out of stock? They replied that their internal system was knocked out on the 4th and didn't get repaired until the 12th. A claim I find very hard to believe.
So I wait for another 2 weeks and still no idea of when they would be able to ship. It's now Dec 29th and I just cancelled the order. I will never order anything through them again for the following reasons:
#1. Their website doesn't let you know if the item is in stock as many, many other sites do.
#2. Their phone system can't handle the amount of calls they have coming in because I got a busy signal the first 10 times I tried calling, then the next 4 times it just rang & rang until the phone system gave up, then I was on hold for 20 minutes waiting for a representative.
#3. Their E-mail customer service is just as bad when it took 4 days to get a response to the question of the 9 day lag between my order and the message that it was backordered.

OCS, They are the best I ordered some speakers they no longer carry, so they sold me an equivalant that cost more for the same price OUTSTANDING,deffinately do business again

I ordered an amplifier and a wiring kit from OCS.com on October 16th. I had not received any confirmation that my order was processed, so I decided to e-mail their customer service department on the evening of October 22nd (after business hours). The very next morning I received an e-mail back explaining that one of the items I purchased was on back order, and they suggested options as to what I should do (including changing or canceling my order). The next day I received another e-mail from the company informing me that the product arrived and it was being shipped. I've heard bad reviews about this company, but nothing about their communication with me would lead me to believe that they partake in any foul business practices. I have yet to install the amplifier, but I will update this review as soon as I do. I am a satisfied customer of onlinecarstereo.com and will probably shop there in the future.

No complaints at all. My brother ordered 2 JL Subs and a Kicker amp from them several months ago with no issues. So, when I came time for me to order, I compared them to the other "legit" stores on the net and found that they had the best price on all the items I was ordering. So I placed my order for a Clarion head unit, a Kicker amp and a Amp Wiring kit. The Clarion and Amp Wiring Kit shipped out next day bur the Kicker showed to be on backorder. I found a little better amp on another web site for not much more money and they had it in stock. I called Online Car Stereo, got an immediate answer and asked them to remove the Amp. The immediately removed it from my order with no questions asked. I did not have to get a refund. Due to it being on backorder they had not charged my card for it. All in All, I am very satisfied and will order from them again.

I tried to buy a car radio from this website. What have I gotten: not 1, but 2 defective radios...had to spend so much extra time on installation costs and shipping the defective products back to this lousy company...WHAT A RIPOFF!!!
BEWARE....DO NOT BUY THINGS FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

A poineer head unit I received as a gift from my wife was installed a month after delivery. After contacting Pioneer is was determined that the unit is defective. OnlineCarStereo.com will not exchange it. They quoted six weeks for warranty repair, on top of which, they are not an authorized Pioneer repair facitily. They are missing a large piece of a well run business. Take your chances!

The store had the Amplifier I was looking for beat by $50 and with free shipping. I heard it took forever to receive the order from other reviewers, so I called before I placed the order to make sure they had it in stock.
They shipped my order within 24 hours of purchasing and I received it today UPS Ground. I haven't tested it, but will be within the week I hope. I'll try and remember to update this rating.
Great store, speedy service, just call and make sure it's in stock before ordering.

Abolutely crappy customer service . I purchased a JL 441dsp cleensweep from them that was D.O.A. on 02/25/2008 . I shipped it back to them on the 13 of april and have yet to recieve my replacement or refund . AVIOD THIS STORE .... BEWARE . they have tons of BBB complaints against them !!!!

If only I've read these reviews then I wouldn't have fallen for it since the price were decent. This site is horrible, the buying part is very quick and seamless, however don't expect to get a quality product in a timely matter. I place an order day 1, and with 2nd day shipping, but did not get the product until half a month later. When the product has arrived, I quickly install and test, come to no surprise as it was dead on arrival. I immediately spoked to the Customer Services (which took about 2 days by constantly calling back and back and back 10 times an hour to get through.) The customer service seems to be clueless half of the time, told me to ship it back and they will immediately ship out a new product. I spent some time taking the product out and immediately Priority ship it back to them, and they have received the product 3 days later, but whenever I called to check on the status it is always the same reply, that its not "checked-in", this process took another 2 weeks for them to have it "checked-in" from their warehouse Once "checked-in", I received an email from the RMA department saying that I need to wait another 4-6 weeks for them to fix the product. They has given me an excuse that once you install they cannot exchange, but thats really BS because without installing, it is hard to tell if its working or not. In most instances you will not see the defaults until you have use for a week or so, which is why most company give you up to 14 days at least to be satisfy with the buy. Its obvious that this company is running a scam since 2/3 of the item I bought were defective in some way or the other. I would advice you not to shop here and look elsewhere for your product if you do not want to waste your time or money. I do agree you save some money but it is not significant enough to deal with these idiots.

Two or three points worth considering:
First, they have excellent prices and they shipped my speakers out quickly. I was very pleased at that point.
Second, I had to return a pair of speakers because I found from Crutchfield that though the diameter was correct, the depth was too great for my vehicle. It was hard to get a hold of anybody at the Customer Service number. I returned the speakers for exchange, but before my return got to them I found the speakers I wanted at Best Buy. I e-mailed them and asked that they not ship the speakers and forbade them to charge me any extra -- but they shipped and charged anyway. Since then it has been impossible to contact Customer Service. I am sorry I ever dealt with them. I sent an e-mail this morning that if I don't have a refund within 5 business days I will have to contact Visa to initiate a chargeback.
Finally, I had some harnesses/adapters on my order originally, and they were back-ordered. This was not communicated to me until the package arrived and they were not in it.
It's very sad for a store to do so well in one area (price) and to completely miss the mark in others (communication/customer service). I suppose maintaining a minimal crew of CSRs helps to minimize their prices.

Ordered Pioneer Premier TS-D801P from onlinecarstereo. Order shipped quickly and they arrived new in box with everything. I do not have an amp just looking for something a little better than stock speakers. The Pioneer speakers are working out well.
