Markertek was one of the few companies that had the APC S20BLK Power Conditioner With Battery Backup new unit I was looking for. I am usually a buyer of APC products from sites like Newegg, TigerDirect, CDWG, and Amazon (Vanns). When I came across Markertek, their price was the second lowest, and they had the second most positive reviews (other than Vanns) plus their site described the APC S20BLK properly. I mainly decided to order from Markertek since they were in New York State and only around two hours away so I thought I could receive the product in a few days. I can add to the positive reviews - their service was great and they even emailed me and called me to verify that it was me placing the order for this expensive unit.
One caveat... The expensive unit was shipped via FedEx ground in the OEM box. When I got home, I saw the tag FedEx left on the door that delivery absolutely required a signature. When I called FedEx, they would not attempt another delivery the same day. I finally got the FedEx rep to find out when the truck with the package would be in their local depo and I picked it up there (20 miles away) since I needed it for an install the next morning. The local FedEx Rep opened the gate for me and got the package off their truck. It is obvious that FedEx is pretty rough, the box came banged up and wet since it was left by the leaking back door of the truck since they attempted the 1st delivery at 11 am. The delivery mechanism was the only issue. Maybe FedEx should be instructed to handle expensive heavy 70lb packages with extra care and be given phone numbers of recipients when a package can't be delivered on a first attempt so the truck can be rerouted immediately to an alternate address where they can get a signature.
Other than the FedEx delivery mechanism of expensive electronics, I certainly would certainly recommend doing business with Markertek. The new unit is installed and functioning properly so far under the default settings. I am happy with my purchase from Markertek.
