"I ordered a down jacket on a clearance sale price for my 14 year old daughter. It arrived 3 days later, but was too large. The reviews of the jacket said they ran a little large to fit over a sweater, but it was too large. I decided to return it but had to order another jacket right away because she had no longer had a winter coat that fit. when that coat arrived, again after just 3 days(in both cases the shipping was free because of the holiday promotion), my daughter decided she didn't like the color! In the meantime, we went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving, and on the way home stopped at an LLBean store right off the highway. They refunded the full purchase price to my card even though I had left the receipt in my car, and were extremely nice about me not even having my license with me. I did remember the whole credit card # I had used, so I guess I was trustworthy enough. When we got back home I ordered a third jacket in a different color. Now let me tell you about my daughter--picky, picky, picky! But she loves her down jacket in the right color and size, and has since ordered a couple of shirts from Bean, which she also loves. These were the first non-American Eagle items in memory. Guess what? Free shipping, arrived in 3 days. Notice a pattern? OK, so visited another sister a couple of weeks ago& stopped at an outlet LLBean on the way, in a different state, and by that time the receipt was long gone. They issued me a gift card this time, but for only $50 since I didn't have the receipt. No problem. When we returned home I emailed their customer service requesting the additional refund & providing my online purchase information. I got a reply within the hour (and this was after midnight on a Sunday) that they would look into the matter. Next morning I had an email letting me know they would issue a gift card via email. Got the gift card email by noon. Used the 2 refund/gift card #s online to pay for the 2 shirts, along with a $10 email gift card I had received when buying the 1st down jacket back in November! These guys are probably the best company in the world when it comes to customer satisfaction. I don't know what website the other reviewer shopped at, or how they had LLBean merchandise, but there's no way in hell it was the real LLBean online store. Anyone who shops Bean knows they have the best customer service. The other reviewer gave a score of 0.10? They're an 11 out of 10. Simply outstanding."

"Worse online store. Just worse. Be aware, they could take your money, use them on their own for a week or two and then refund you without any explanations and excuses. When I contact their customer service they just sent e0mail “ We appreciate your interest in L.L.Bean products.” that’s all. Don’t even try to fix their mistakes, just nothing. Go the hell out – that is their answer. Hope IRS and BBB could investigate their strange fraud activity."
