"I purchased a Hidden Hitch and grated cargo carrier from etrailer.com. There were mixed reviews here, and that made me pause. But the price was outstanding, and the items were exactly what I wanted, so I ordered anyway. I wondered what would be sacrificed in the bargain. In a word: nothing!
I ordered over Memorial day weekend, but they still processed the order on Monday and shipped it on Tuesday. I received the packages 8 days after placing the order. The packaging was adequate for the items, everything arrived in proper condition, and no parts were missing.
I even made a call to their CS while my package was in transit to ask a question. My call was answered within seconds and they were friendly and helpful. I would also note that they kept me notified of progress with email alerts at each stage of processing.
Based on my experience, I would definitely order from them again."
"Wow, after reading some of these other reviews I consider myself lucky to have had a positive experience with etrailer.com. I usually check out e-stores before ordering but this time I didn't, so I was a little surprised to see the negative reviews.
Anyway, my experience was great. I liked their website and the way it allowed me to search for a hitch for my specific vehicle year and model. It gave me three options, and the one I picked was cheaper than I had seen anywhere else.
I ordered it on a Monday and it arrived the following Friday, using just standard ground shipping (from Missouri to California). The hitch was in new condition and all hardware and instructions were there.
Their website said this hitch should take approximately an hour and ten minutes to install. It turned out to be easier than I thought. probably took 30 minutes working at a leisurly pace. It was a perfect fit for my car - I only had to trim away some of the rubber and mounting strip on the bottom of the bumper (where it can't be seen), then the hitch bolted right on the bumper using pre-existing threaded holes and the bolts provided by etrailer.
I'm a very happy customer, but I didn't have any need to contact them for any support issues, so I can't comment on that aspect of their business."
"Looks like it's been a while since www.etrailer.com has been reviewed, so Id like to take the opportunity to rate this site. On April 22 2008 I ordered the following for my 2008 Rav4 V6 4WD: 1.Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver 2.T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector 3.Ballmount Kit 4.Trailer Hitch Receiver & Coupler Lockset - 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver All items were received in the same box very well packaged by April 29 2008. Overall, I am very satisfied with everything. I also ordered a bike rack. I'll keep you all posted on that as soon as I receive it.
Update-5/2/08 I received the Thule Bike Rack. Package arrived on time in excellent conditions. Thnx Etrailer, looking foward to doing business in the future. "

"Wow. Sorry some have had problems. My experience was great. I ordered the following for my 2005 Tacoma.
1 82790 Valley Class III Hitch - Toyota Tacoma 1 118393 T-one Wiring Harness 1 Ballmount Class III 2" Drop 9" Long 1 Pin & Clip Class III 1 Ball 2x1x2-1/8 6000#
Shipping was fast. I ordered on Tuesday 7/8/08 eveing, and received on Fiday 7/11/08. The hitch was well boxed, but had shifted slightly in the box during shipping by UPS, and had 2 corners of the hitch just poking through the ends of the box. No damage. The hitch did have a 2 inch scratch in the powder coating on top of the receiver, but it was hidden after installation. I just hit it with a shot of Rustoleum to cover it before installing.
Installation was a snap. Fit was just as pictured, and wiring harness was no cut T into existing harness. Completed entire installation in less than 2 hrs.
I received a confirmation after order on 7/8, and got a notification of pending shipment on 7/9 with notice that it would ship within 7 days. Less than 2 hours later on 7/9 I got a notice that it had shipped, and received it on 7/11.
Website was great with easy navigation and lookups, great exploded views and multiple images, and printable instruction pages.
I am going to order again for a setup for my Honda Pilot. I hope it all goes as well as it did this time."
