"I just wanted to say these guys are frauds!! I bought a product from them a year ago & then sent it back because I didn't like the program & they said they would refund my money. But I had to contact the Attorney General's Office because they wouldn't refund the money. They did finally, I thought, because they put a stop payment on the check & I got a $20 fee for that check being cashed. So now my back took the $36.66 & $20 from my account. So I say this company sucks big time!!!"

The suit alleged that eDirectSoftware was guilty of software piracy as well as trademark and copyright law violations. eDirectSoftware officials admitted to improperly selling student-discounted software, smuggled in from Jordan and other countries and resold at a great discount to non-students. In a settlement reached, eDirectSoftware agreed to pay $1 million to end the lawsuit. According to its Web site, Microsoft filed nine lawsuits in April 2007 over the international student software scam and has sent 55 cease-and-desist letters. I purchased what I thought was a Windows XP/PRO upgrade and received one of these illegal volume licensing discs instead.Here is their cut and paste response to my inquiries via email and eChat:Microsoft has changed policies regarding volume license software, and now many individual users cannot receive updates. Due to the release of 2007 and Vista, Microsoft is invalidating many volume license versions owned by individual users. The products will still work, but you will not be able to receive updates. "I ordered the software and received e-mail confirmation with NO SPECIFIC SHIPPING INFORMATION. After the package did not arrive in the 5-7 business day time frame they advertise, I sent an e-mail requesting shipping/tracking info. NO RESPONSE. I sent a second e-mail a few days later marked urgent. AGAIN - NO RESPONSE. I tried calling and their phone number is a recorded message that automatically disconnects you!! Finally, after a third e-mail a few more days later, threatening to reverse the charges on my credit card produced a tracking number with UPS. When tracked, I discovered the package had been sent to an incorrect address - NOT THE ADDRESS I PROVIDED. I quickly tracked down the owners of that address, who use it as a retreat and had not been up there in some time. The package (according to UPS) had been left at a side door. This door is unsheltered and we had received 20+ inches of snow and high winds since the delivery. Needless to say, despite going there myself, searching and digging for half an hour in frigid weather, there was no sign of the package.And even though eDirect Software CHARGED ME INSURANCE, they REFUSED to send a replacement. So of course I did reverse the charges!!"
"Purchased software waited five days went to edirect site, online chat and asked status of order. Informed edirect was out of stock and ordered would be cancelled in 24 hours. Repeatedly asked who,what,when,where but no other online chat response after being informed of OOS comment. Money had already changed hands. Called phone # listed, recording directing you back to site. Still waiting on edirect response. Unless you have a few $$ to waste better try another source for your software!!!"
"emailed company 4 times starting Friday the 12th, asking them to contact me BEFORE SHIPPING just to double check the shipping address. Today is the 16th. Ok..they are only open M-F 9 to 4 mountain time... live chat online only.. no phone contact, and they don't answer emails, and even during the very limiting open hours, they are often not avail for "live chat".I ordered important software...paid for fed ex, they sent it reg. ground shipping, so instead of getting it Tuesday, tomorrow,( Monday was a holiday)now I'll get it next week sometime. Had they answered even one email,I could have caught their mistake.... No PR skills ...no discount on a future purchase, no simple apology..though I requested one, no nothing. I can't afford to go buy it somewhere else now...they've got me!! I just have to wait. They refunded the shipping...well, I should hope so.... Not happy. And the beat goes on...after finally getting my order, a week after I needed it, eDirectSoftware sent me the wrong product!!! On live chat they gave me a return authorization, but when I asked them to pay for reurn shipping, the live chat rep., "Tyler", as "he" had several times before, quit responding without signing off. Horrible experience .........no customer service of any kind! Even the "toll-free" phone# sighted on the website is a joke...it just prompts you to find them on the web and then hangs up! No phone contact.. After I had received my order,they even sent me a generic automatic email to rate my shopping experience with them....are they kidding?? PATHETIC....REDICULOUS....DISHONORABLE,...EVEN THOUGH THE PRICES ARE GOOD...DON"T SHOP ON THIS SITE!!!!!! YOU'LL BE SORRY."
"There is a reason eDirectSoftware does not sell MS OS (from what I have seen, no MS products) anymore. I'm filing this complaint because they deserve it for selling me an invalid or not fresh XP Pro holographic CD. The VLP Key for my system "suddenly" became invalid, and the LIVEperson help insulted us with their first response with l(me): Paypal Receipt number: xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxT(eDS): This will only invalidate if you have installed more than onceWell! Ah be! I says to meself, whadda ya think he means, Ethel? Which wun of these here 'puters - we only got thirteen of 'em - is it? Now let me figur' this here out...Microsoft is smarter than that and will allow legal transfers - even for Vern... My system was a fresh install with only one user and full protection. No hardware was changed and I have never had to use the CD since. When I went to the MS Updates, as we do periodically, it suddenly found my OS invalid. Hmmm... expired license? Key?So I chalk it up to my naiveté for trusting eDirectSoftware. Never again will I buy from people like this; always will I check the 'Net for complaints; and always will I mention them in this light. Thank you, Resellersratings.com. I am going to start helping more people by adding your site to my signature in my E-mails. "Horrible communication. After placing the order through their website for 4 diffrent softwares which is worth about $1,700, I have never got a single email saying they got my order or any sort of update. Placed the order on the 7-11-2006 and got one software out of 4 after 6 days. The other 3 softwares, I don't even know where they are. So, I did live chat... very unsatified customer service. Still don't know where the order is !!! Even though their prices are good, I will never do business with this company again! Period."

"I ordered a copy of Windows XP Home OEM, and I received an OEM copy, but it was one of the "For distribution with a new ____ PC only" copy, with the computer company's logo and everything on the CD, no hologram or anything. A COA was included. When it installed, I wasn't prompted for a key (I'm guessing it was using a VLK that the computer company has on every CD), so when it was being activated it came back as an unauthorized product key which I had to manually change. But it did activate.Also, the copy was SP1 which is now going through a lot of updates. I have a high speed connection, but it's still a pain to go through all of that.In all, I saved about $10 over other retailers, and to be quite honest I'd rather pay the extra $10 and get true OEM software with SP2 to save the trouble of updating.Shipping was prompt.I haven't seen their other prices, so I would come back to see how they compare on other pieces of software, but not for XP. :-)"
