"Honestly, I think most of these reviews are unreasonable. When something on this site is back ordered, basically it will always get cancelled, which is frustrating but I don't think it warrants the hate I am reading. My first order, I had to call and verify over the phone(I'm in texas) so I mean, that wasn't a problem. I never have an issue with wanting further info to verify my identity.I get my items in a timely fashion. I have a shoprunner account so I never pay for shipping and always have two day shipping. If you're having shipping rates that are $14 plus, it would probably be in your best monetary interest to get a shoprunner trial just to order your stuff. The only problem I have with this site is that when an order ships, they send you an email that doesn't specify the items that are being shipped. It took me a while to notice that. Overall, I think this site is ok. I shop here often, things are reasonably priced with easy access to clearance items and codes."
"I bought from this website once. Got my boots on time. However, any other purchases I made, the money would be held on my account for weeks, marked as "processing" and they would cancel the order by themselves.I will definitely not buy from this site again"
"Delia's Online ordering is so far behind the times!!! You would think you are dealing with a business in 1980.I ordered some jeans and a pair of boots for my daughter from their online site. The package arrived, but only contained the jeans. The boots listed a backorder date one month out.The jeans didn't fit, so I returned at the store. They could not immediately give me credit or refund my money, even though I had a receipt. Because I ordered online, they had to write up a PAPER ticket and send it in to headquarters to get a refund. This took 2-3 weeks before I saw the credit! Whatever you do, do not pay via Paypal. That seems to complicate the return process. The boots arrived 5 weeks later, but my daughter did not like the fit. Because of my first return experience, I decided to call to return them directly. They said they would have to mail a return authorization label so I could mail the boots back. It took 14 days for them to MAIL me a return label!! Really??? this is 2013! Any other business would have emailed it in less than an hour. Still waiting for boot refund. WI will never buy online from Delia's again, unless they update their business practices to this century. Unbelievable to me that a business catering to a younger generation is so far behind the times. They definitely need to get some new leadership."

"Don't shop online. I ordered several tops and a backpack for school several days ago, and I just now got an email that told me my order is being shipped, but only with 3 of my items! I have seven! So I called customer service, and they're all back ordered, and they told me they were waiting for the restock. Now I have no idea when I will receive the rest of my items, and I have school in less than a week. The least they could have done was put on their site that the items were back ordered BEFORE I ordered them, but I didn't find out until the day of the shipment. Won't being shopping online again."
"Don't buy from their website. They have nothing in stock, everything will be back ordered, and you'll never know when to expect it. This is what I've learned from the three orders my daughter had me place with them. None of the orders were shipped complete when they were ordered. All had at least one back ordered item...and nobody could commit to a ship date. They don't deserve anyone's money!"

"It was my first time ordering from Delia's. When I placed my order and paid for it, I got an email that said that I had to call them to verify my order. I wasn't really happy because I live in Belgium. When I called them they said that I had to take a picture of my credit card (the card that I paid with) and my ID. I didn't really trusted it so I called my bank and they said you may never give them the back of your creditcard because there is a security number on it. So I took a picture of my ID en the front of my card and mailt it to them. A couple days later they mailed my order had been shipped. 2 weeks letter they arrived. Everything fitted and pretty. So I don't have a problem with them. They are very helpfull. But I probably won't be ordering again from them because in belgium I had to pay taxes on it. It was 40 euros. That was pretty expensive, But it wasn't Delia's fault. "
"Well I am relieved to see I am not the only one with a bad experience with Delias. I sent in a check on May 8, it took two weeks for them to receive it! I send my Home Depot check to Iowa and it gets there in three days! So, today June 3 I still have not received my shoes. What do they use for shipping a covered wagon? I am in California; they are in Indiana. I have received things much faster; i.e. Hanes in NC and they use regular mail! If I only could have located these shoes elsewhere I would never have gone through Delias."
"Customer service is HORRIBLE. Took over 2 weeks for my issue to be sorted out. I was constantly assured that I would be assisted quickly and I had to literally beg them to get an answer. I have never, ever encountered customer service as poor as this. I ordered a pair of boots on the 9th of March. I was really excited, but after a month of waiting, they had not arrived. Confused, I checked my account on the delias website, it said "Customer Cancelled" beneath my order. I did not cancel anything. I decided to check my emails to see if they had alerted me of the cancellation but there was nothing there. I found an email that said that I needed to call a number in order to avoid my order being cancelled. I found this to be completely ridiculous - considering that I had already confirmed my order ONLINE, why should I have to confirm over the phone to re-confirm the confirmation?! Maybe its just me, but I think this is completely unfair and stupid. Especially considering that I am from a different country which means that international call rates are through the roof. So, after the 2 weeks of trying to get in contact with customer service, they sent me a short email telling me that I was never CHARGED in the first place. They could have atleast alerted me that my credit card was not charged instead of just saying that my order was cancelled. Seriously avoid this company unless you want to waste your time."
"So I got my first order. Processing was fast. My first order was shipping through ups and my 2nd order(one of my back ordered items that was actually back in stock when they said it would be) is being shipped through dmx which I have no idea what that is. Hopefully it gets here on time. And hopefully my other back ordered item gets there soon. There's no date of possible arrival or anything."

Romper never came, money never returned. Don't shop here, it doesn't seem like they care about how satisfied you are with the experience. Not worth it."
"DO NOT SHOP AT DELIA'S!!! I returned two separate mail orders to the Delia's store. The store does not do the return but they do offer to send it back for you. When I received my credit card statement, I noticed the total was much different than my original purchase. I called customer service to find out what was going on. When I started adding up all of the charges it still didn't add up. Once I started asking questions, I found out that I was charged more than $40 to ship the items back. They charge a $5.95 fee just to do the return! I could have returned the items myself much cheaper! I don't care how much my daughter loves that store, I will never shop there again ever!"
"Was in the store looking for a dress with my daughter. She found just what she wanted but her size was sold out. By chance another customer heard us talking about searching somewhere else and she suggested I go to the service phone in store and place an order as she did in the past and have the dress shipped to our home. A sales associate also confirmed this option, so we gave it a try. To our delight, the dress arrived 4 days later and fits like a charm! Thank you for the ease of getting the perfect dress Delia!"

The order came to us over a period of three weeks and 5 packages (we purchased about 10 items).When the clothing arrived, the majority of it was extremely poor quality. We kept a pair of Madden boots and a couple t-shirts. The jeans were stiff and felt cheap and the belt loop came apart with ease.When I returned the items, they charged a fee for returning (did not know this until I called). They did not confirm that the items were received and did not issue or even attempt to issue a credit to my card until I called weeks later, inquiring about the return. Then I was told that they could not credit the credit card and that they would be sending a check in the mail (which I still have not received).dELiA*s used to be a decent store and their prices used to match the decent quality of the clothes. That was maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Today, especially after that experience, I would NEVER shop there again. You're better off shopping at Gilly Hicks, Abercrombie, Nordstrom, etc."
