"Buyers beware!!
The mosts horrible experience I've ever had buying online.
Ordered Minolta flash 5600HS. The item was mentioned 'in stock' on their website. Knowing that Minolta gear became hard to find, called the store before purchasing to confirm availability. Ordered right after being assured they have it. Not a single call from them since! After a couple of days I called myself to get tracking info and was told instead they do not have the item. Hence, they charged the card immediately after order was placed without item in stock. I called several times since then trying to get a refund. It's almost a month since I placed the order - no refund yet. Filed a complain to credit card company, they credited the account and currently working out the situation with the 'merchant'. IBUYDIGITAL people simply think they can use your money indefinitely and for free. The manner they speak to the customer also leave a lot to be desired. An absolute disappointment. "

"Avoid these guys. It appears their game is to sell you accessories where they make their profit
margin and if you don't buy them
they verbally harass you and try to get you to cancel your order.

I ordered a videocamera on 3 feb. Two days later I get a voicemail from them wanting to verify the order.

Here's what "Jim", phone number 8662434289 x558, said to me when I got through to him the following day, Feb 6:

"Jim": "We have a special where if you buy an external battery charger you get an extra battery for free with that. Would you like that?"

me: "No, thanks"

"Jim":"Well what are you going to use for a battery?"

me: "The one it comes with"

"Jim":"oh but that only lasts for 5 minutes. what are you going to do with it, resell it?"

me: "no i'm using it for recording"

then verbal abuse with implications that i was being unfriendly: 'did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?"

"Jim": "recording what?"

me: "when will you be shipping this out?"

"Jim": "within 72 hours of charging your card, which we'll go ahead and do now if you are fine with that?

me: "but i placed the order on the 3rd and your site said you'd ship it out within 72 hours of the order being placed?"

"Jim": "we haven't charged your card yet, but we can charge it now and ship out within 72 hours from now, if you'd like to go ahead with that"

me: "no thanks, cancel my order"

don't know how they get such great feedback from others -- maybe they've jacked the system. or maybe i just had the lucky lottery ticket."

"This group of companies are horrible. I bought a TV from them before, and they said it would be shipped by UPS, instead they used a private shipper and I could not track my shipping, and it was more than a week late. That was from their central digital
branch. This time, although I suspected that it was the same company with a different name, I wasn't sure, so I took the chance and ordered a Denon AV Receiver, without a service contract. They refused to ship my order, until I spoke to someone to verify my address, as if I didn't know where I lived, and would not be careful when ordering something over a thousand dollars. I deliberately avoided them and they did not ship my order for more than a week. Finally they got me on my work phone, and was pressured to order a service contract. I adamantly refused. After about 10 minutes, the salesperson offered me the service contract for free, and I said YES. That was my mistake. They CHARGED my credit card for the service contract. ($99) When I found out, even before the order arrived, I called customer service, and spoke to a guy named Bryan Gordon, if that is his real name. I asked him to remove the charges, and he refused, continuously talking over me and would not let me speak. I stopped arguing, and asked him to let me speak, he did. He then said there will be a restocking fee for the service contract.I told him that a service contract is not a tangible item, so how could there be a restocking fee? He then offered the contract at discounts of $80,then $50,then $40. I told him at this point I am not buying anything else from them, even if it costs one cent. He then said, I had to wait until I received the contract papers, return them, and when they received them, he would issue a refund. I received the order, about three weeks late and it appeared that they had packaged the order and sealed the box, then stuck the service contract envelope in an opening in the box after they had contacted me. I fell out of the box when it was delivered. It is a miracle that it did not fall out before, and that would have meant no papers, no refund. I cost me $8 for registered mail, because I don't trust these guys. I still did not get my refund. I had to call again after I received my mail confirmation receipt. DON'T SHOP, AND DON'T BUY FROM THESE GUYS. "

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!

I have gotten the run-around for almost a month on this order, and I feel I have been more than patient with this company!!! I've had to call to follow up on this order three times – I have never received one email follow-up on my order to say it was being delayed or the item was no longer in stock. In addition, most of the time when I've called, I've never been able to get through to customer service and have been redirected to the sales department.

I called this morning to follow-up AGAIN on the above order placed on January 3, 2007, which I have not yet received (but my credit card was sure charged immediately)!! I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life, as I have this morning by a customer service representative who said his name was Jim in the camcorder sales department!!

Initially when I didn't receive the order, I called and talked to a person who said his name was Bill – he advised me that these camcorders were on backorder with Sony and would be sent out mid-January. I said that I would wait, but once again, I never heard back from your company on the order.

Then I called again during the week of the 19th to find out what was going on, and I spoke to a person who said his name was David. He apologized and said that Sony was not sending out the SR60's in the near future, but he offered me an upgrade to the Sony SR80 for about $100 more, plus overnight shipping and an extra battery. I told him that I needed to discuss the price increase with my husband, and I would call back. He said that he would make a note in the order.

So I called today (Monday, January 29) and asked for David and was told that he was not in today, but he would be back tomorrow. So I thought that this representative, Jim, might be able to help me with the order – I had called planning to take David's offer. When I told Jim, he said that he would not be able to include the battery. I got upset but was not rude, because I've had such a run-around for almost a month!! He said that David never made me the offer because the company has such a slim profit margin, and practically accused me of lying. He also told me not to raise my voice. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he said he wouldn't transfer me to a supervisor.

At that point, I said I would call back the next day and speak to David directly. Jim then said that David was actually no longer with the company (so he lied to me initially when he said that David would be in tomorrow). Then I asked for Bill who Jim said was also not available, and when I got upset – he said that Bill was in the hospital, and when I didn't believe him – he said that I was unsympathetic!!

At this point, I was very upset, and I stated that I wanted to cancel my order. As I was trying to discuss the lack of customer service from the company, as well as my frustration with the situation, it sounded like he wasn't on the phone. I asked if he was still on the line, and he stated that he had put the phone down on his desk while I was speaking and all the employees around him were laughing at my raised voice. That was the last straw!! I hung up!!

I have NEVER been treated so DISRESPECTFULLY in my entire life!! It is clear to me that this company cares nothing about its customers. That being said, I will never buy from them again. I also feel it is my duty to warn other potential customers of their deceptive practices and HORRIBLE customer service!!!"

"I ordered a Canon 5D online at ibuyplasma.com on Friday night. Unlike other online merchants I didn't get a confirmation email immediately. On Monday morning I got an email asking me to call to confirm the order. When I did I was informed that the camera did not come with a manufacturers warranty. When I asked why not the rep told me that it was because the camera was "gray market" but that I could buy a warranty from them. I said I wasn't interested and would like to cancel the order. The rep replied: "You want to cancel the order" and I said that yes, I did. His response was "Drop dead! Goodbye" and he hung up on me!"

"Beware of this store. Ordered a Canon 40D, no response for a couple of days. Then sent me a Grey market camera (no warranty), even though the reciept says USA. They are also very hard to get on the phone (unless you are purchasing) and rude."

"Excellent customer service! Very helpful, and great prices! Fast shipping. Willing to go the extra mile to help a customer!

[update] 2008-01-25: I just realized that I did not get a USA warranty as advertised on the website. They are selling gray merchandise.

[update] 2008-04-14: I was contacted by this reseller a couple weeks ago about my review on ResellerRatings. They stated that they would provide a 3 year warranty for me at no charge. I received the warranty a few days ago. I didn't receive a Tamron warranty, the warranty is a third party warranty: RepairTech. "

"Poor customer service and tracking - I ordered the camera on Monday, it was supposed to ship at least by Wednesday. I called on Thursday and found out that they had "oversold" that model and that I would not be receiving it. I!! had to call them, and their on-line tracking said nothing of it. They should have CALLED, or EMAILED, or POSTED on their website, but failed to do any of these. "
