"Excellent Source!
I was looking for a copy of a book I used during my studies at Juilliard. I wanted to give a copy to a student of mine, only to find it was out of print. All of the other Classics To Moderns books are still available and in print but this one was not.

Alibris came through with flying colors, finding me a seller who had a beautiful copy for less than $10.00! As compared to brand new at $150.00!!

I'm happy, my student is thrilled and I have MY copy back after loaning it to him. My student loves playing themes and then making up his own 'variations', so this was the perfect book to teach him how the "Masters" did it.

So glad Alibris is here to help those of us looking for out of print books, music, etc... Great job!"

"I have long enjoyed finding both new and used books and CDs at nice prices and which are sometimes not available elsewhere. I was really happy to find an older book in "like new" condition and at a very competitive price.

Whether new or used, I enjoy the really nice prices. The shipping costs more than I'd like, but pretty much the same as other sites. The coupons help. When I can find what I seek at Alibris at a good price, I order from Alibris."

"I'm so glad my daughters bought me a computer. They felt it would lighten my day being confined to a chair resulting fromn my legacy of the Korean War and over the past 4 years, requiring more time in the hospital for 6 major surgeries to attempt to correct problems I didn'[t even know I had. I made it through the entire War and I love history but now I can sit back and read about instead of being shot at by it.

If I, an 81 year old novice with a computer, find ALIBRIS an easily manageable site to make purchases, then there's no excuse for anyone not to do so. They couldn't make it any easier. I'm usually intimidated by these "monster" machines' but 'damnit', I mastered it this time and I'm proud as hell with myself. And they have coupons. Its a great deal and the deliveries of books brighten my days."

"Terrible service. Terrible shipping. Never received my book. waiting on my refund. Avoid them at all costs- it's for your benefit!"

"TERRIBLE customer service. Had to go to my credit card company to get my refund. Their "independent" seller sent me a "receipt" for a refund but never posted it to my PayPal account. This, after sending me a damaged book for $60.00 Many emails to Alibris and Econgo (neither of which accepted responsibility) and a lot of runaround later, I'm still working on it (6 weeks so far). What a rip-off!! I suggest you find another way to buy your books and save yourself the ridiculous hassle! I guess that Amazon's excellent customer service and selection have spoiled me."

"Alibris is an excellent source for books; their network of booksellers is huge. The issue is their poor shipping choices.

Alibris' free shipping is a sad joke. My books shipped 14 days ago (11 shipping days ago) and I still don't have it. What is really strange, is that I specifically ordered it via a store within my state for this very reason. So, a store that can be no more than 6hrs from my doorstep is taking at least 12 shipping days.

Amazon Prime: New copy of Philip K Dick novel $10.99 free 2-day UPS.

Alibris: Same exact book, $10.15, free saver shipping (they don't have free 2-day), I'm still waiting going on 2 weeks.

Will you pay a little more? Sure, a matter of cents, but as the saying goes, 'a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.'

AmazonPrime does costs $80 per year. My family has made that back from the shipping savings of items that rarely have free shipping otherwise, and because of this, we have the added bonus of free 2-day for my book habit."

"Ordered four books from Alibris on June 3rd. They showed all four as shipped on June 4th, but only three of the four arrived. Exchanged e-mails with them for a month, they don't seem to care. They don't have a functional phone number to call to deal with a real human. Almost two months later the book still hasn't arrived and Alibris seems to be unresponsive about the problem."

"I didn't get what I ordered. The ad was for a SET of 4 books. I only got 1 book. They said the ad was wrong. How can the ad be wrong? I just want what I ordered and they won't fulfill the order.I had a long email dialog trying to solve this problem and they don't seem to be concerned with customer satisfaction."
