"First let me say that we do finally have our merchandise (refrig, stone & microwave) and it looks beautiful. It took 2-1/2 months to receive. As for AJ Madison, everything was fine until it wasnt. AJ Madison did not handle the customer service end of my order very well at all. To start, my order sat on someone's desk for 4 weeks -- if I hadn't called to check status, we would still not have our appliances. I had no response to my e-mail inquiry to the salesman and no call back as promised from the person who was trying to straighten out my order. The company they contract out to for delivery was rude & unaccommodating (the merchandise was delivered in perfect condition). AJ Madison has a great product, a great website & terrific prices. What they need is a better line on how to make the process go smoothly & how to resolve problems when they arise. There was absolutely no accountability or standard of service. "
"Was a little worried with mixed reviews, which seem to go along with all of the online appliance resellers, but this turned out to be a great experience.
Ordered a Maytag fridge for $1090 before $90 in rebates (exclusive to AJ Madison) when Home Depot was selling the same one for $1300. Chose the free delivery option (threshold) since I'm cheap and it isn't worth $100 to have someone carry it up 4 steps for me. They ended up bringing it all the way into the kitchen and removing the outer packaging anyways.
Ordered on a Monday, was a "quick ship" model so it ships from their NY warehouse within 2 days, it shipped on Wednesday and I got a call on Thursday offering Friday or Monday for delivery. (I am in MA, so reasonably close).
I've got nothing to complain about, shipped in the time they said it would, delivery service was above and beyond what I paid for. Hopefully my rebates go through, although that is only partially their responsibility (one is from Maytag).
I didn't even get a phone call trying to sell me on an extended warranty like I always expect from these types of places."
"Not only did AJ Madison have the best price, and a very helpful sales person, but I ordered appliances on Monday and the shipment was delivered on Thursday morning. This was just incredible, as they are in New York, and I am on the outskirts of Houston, TX! This was, by far, the best internet shopping experience I have had, and I intend to order one more appliance from them. I definitely recommend AJ Madison."
"This company A J Madison is high above other companies that sell appliances online and give the very best of quality delivered in the shortest amount of time. I called an order for a convection microwave oven and it came 3 days later...wow! I tested it myself as suggested in the order slip, while the delivery men were standing in the living room, and helped me unpack it carefully. The box was packed neatly and completely, with nothing missing. The delivery people were most considerate of me myself trying the functions to make sure it worked property. I am delighted with the service and quality as I have used this company before and got the same high quality in the items and customer service as both times. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone."
"AJ Madison has lousy customer service, so bad it can't be called service at all. They maintain the high ratings on their own web site because they don't post negative ratings. I ordered three appliances, delivery was delayed twice because the delivery firm would call after 5 pm to tell us the delivery would be the next day, and we would have to reschedule because nobody could be home at the time they chose. That's the short part of the story. After delivery, my kitchen installation was delayed. When the box for the dishwasher was opened it looked like somebody had rolled the dishwasher down a hill. Every corner top and bottom was broken. Aj Madison said it was too late, they couldn't replace it, my only option was to place a warranty claim. They said their website is clear on how long you have to place a claim, so I reminded them that I actually came into their showroom twice, one. Time to make sure my plates fit the dishwasher. Kitchenaid sent a repairman who said the dishwasher is totaled. BUT, they are claiming that every part is replaceable, so the repairman is going to have to rebuild the dishwasher. So, instead of a top if the line brand new dishwasher, I'll have a refurbished, rebuilt model. I've put in a claim through Amex, so we will se what happens. Reading other reviews, it looks like the amount of time doesn't actually matter."
"Very bad experience. Got an island range hood from it but it turned out the hood neck is too long for our not that high ceiling, so wanted to exchange it for a downdraft range hood. Sadly they wanted to charge me 40% restocking fee. Decided to sell it myself and not buy the downdraft from it. I am done with AJ Madison"

"Very Unhappy with AJ Madison. I just bought a $2500 Miele coffee maker. When it arrived, I unwrapped it and plugged it in. There was no power to the machine. I immediately called customer service and they referred me to the manufacture to get it repaired. SERIOUSLY!! I don't want a brand new defective machine. I would like what I purchased.-A brand new working unit. They will not let me return it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they won't even transfer me. What kind of customer service is that? The website states the following: “AJ Madison is dedicated to our customer’s 100 percent satisfaction. We are confident that our return policy will ensure your ultimate satisfaction with your appliance purchase.” I don't think so. Find someone else- NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!! - SC "
"I read alot of negative views of AJ Madison, but a relative had a very good expierience so we ordered a fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher. Ordering was easy, below local retailer pricing. Ordered on Dec. 21, delivered on Dec. 29 from New York to Holmen, Wi. No problems at all till we took plastic off fridge, and found dent in door. called right away and was taken care of immediatly. Thanks to Johnathan, Joanne and Anchor Moving for a great job!!"
"Great customer service! I had to change my delivery date several times, and they were very patient with me. Also ended up canceling one of my items because it was going to take a little longer than I wanted and it was no problem at all. Was always able to get a real person on the phone, that spoke english, and was actually located in the country...that in itself says a lot! I would purchase from them again. "
