"Very Unhappy with AJ Madison. I just bought a $2500 Miele coffee maker. When it arrived, I unwrapped it and plugged it in. There was no power to the machine. I immediately called customer service and they referred me to the manufacture to get it repaired. SERIOUSLY!! I don't want a brand new defective machine. I would like what I purchased.-A brand new working unit. They will not let me return it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they won't even transfer me. What kind of customer service is that? The website states the following:
“AJ Madison is dedicated to our customer’s 100 percent satisfaction. We are confident that our return policy will ensure your ultimate satisfaction with your appliance purchase.”
I don't think so. Find someone else- NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!! - SC

"I read alot of negative views of AJ Madison, but a relative had a very good expierience so we ordered a fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher. Ordering was easy, below local retailer pricing. Ordered on Dec. 21, delivered on Dec. 29 from New York to Holmen, Wi. No problems at all till we took plastic off fridge, and found dent in door. called right away and was taken care of immediatly. Thanks to Johnathan, Joanne and Anchor Moving for a great job!!"

"Great customer service! I had to change my delivery date several times, and they were very patient with me. Also ended up canceling one of my items because it was going to take a little longer than I wanted and it was no problem at all. Was always able to get a real person on the phone, that spoke english, and was actually located in the country...that in itself says a lot! I would purchase from them again. "

"I bought an LG refrigerator LFX31925ST and a Maytag washer/dryer MGDE301YW / MHWE301YW. Absolutely very best price anywhere. Delivered as promised to Las Vegas within a week. No sales tax. No shipping charges. I almost didn't order from AJ Madison because of many of the negative review. THAT would have been a mistake. Highly recommend AJ Madison."

""Very unhappy with AJ Madison. We ordered a fridge, dishwasher, range and microwave from them at first. Then we ordered two sinks. The sinks came with no problems. We then ordered a beverage fridge. Everything seemed okay until the day they were suppost to deliver the appliances (a few days before Christmas) I get a call asking for ferry fees. I know I live on an island where the only way off and on is a ferry, so I am happy to pay those charges if informed at time of purchase. I entered my zip code and calculated shipping at time of purchase and no cost. I related this to the customer service and was told that this was a ferry charge not shipping. They could not do anything about this cost. I asked about my beverage fridge which I had ordered the night before, think everything was going smoothly, and paid $99 to shipping and was told that if too would be charged $89.15 in ferry fees (only a $348). I asked to cancel that order but was told it had already shipped and could not be cancelled. Finally after several frustrating questions, I was told I could change the shipping address on the beverage fridge . Okay not ideal but okay. However I had needed my fridge, range, dishwasher and microwave because I had already taken my old ones out once I was informed the new ones were coming. I paid the $89.15 and thought I could get my appliances the next day. I know it was the holidays but AJ Madison didn't give the authorization until over a week later. I cooked christmas dinner on a gas grill outside. NOT HAPPY. Chalked it up experience and said oh well, I will never use them again. Today Jan 16 however I got a call from AJ Madison asking for my $89.15 ferry charges again. I told her is was already paid on Dec 20. She claimed they only got authorization from the credit card company and didn't charge. I have the statement the proves otherwise. Was pretty much told she was charging my card and after I proved I had already paid would get my money back but I would have to talk to billing. SO MAD NOW. I know my situation is different because of the ferry but their return policy is harsh too. If you use them make sure it is exactly what you want it could cost you money to return it to them."

"Very Good--did exactly as they said. I had a GE electric range delivered to my home in South East Michigan on January 2, 2012; it came via a delivery from Cleveland OH. They said it would be a week to 10 days and it was 10 days. The delivery company called the evening before with a 4-hour window, and called 30-minutes before arrival as I was told. The delivery guys were very respectful and brought it into the house, removed the packaging, and allowed me to look it over before signing for the shipment. The extended warranty came separately 1-week after the appliance was delivered.

I think their poor ratings for shipping is largely due to impatient people that expect it over night or in a day or two, and can also be attributed to the "I gotta have it now" mentality of today's culture. If you have to have a large appliance now, go the store and buy it and take it home yourself.

It is a NY company and (trying not to be bias of New Yorkers) the customer service folks aren't overly friendly and rather stand off-ish. But the two women I had to talk with for follow up did answer my questions and provided the follow up I needed. I wasn't calling my best friend to chat, so expecting a cheery person on the other end isn't necessarily a requirement I guess, and may just be someones nature or the general area.

Sorry for the added psycho-babble but overall you'll get the product you want and the best price."

"The Sharp Microwave R520LKT arrived today (Jan 10th.) in good shape.
Got it up and running. It looks and works GREAT !
Can't tell you how happy I am with your communication, pricing and shipping !

"I really loved working with AJ Madison. I thought I was ordering from a Madison, Wisconsin, company and when I discovered it was located in Brooklyn, New York, I informed them of my mistake and they offered to absorb the shipping costs, and help with choosing another product, since there was going to be a wait from the manufacturer. I really appreciated the help I got with choosing my refrigerator and the shipping went exactly as scheduled and the refrigerator arrived in perfect condition and exactly as described. Although I ended up choosing a refrigerator that was more than that of my original order, it was invoiced at the same price and my credit card was not billed until the product was shipped. So even though I live in Madison, Wisconsin, I recommend the company highly and since my purchase, I have talked with others here in Madison, where I live, who are fans of AJ Madison. I have a grand niece who lives in New York and loves the City. I told her parents, about the AJ Madison store and they assured me that my shopping experience would be a good experience and they were right. They are midwesterners as well, but they also love New York. "

"I am super happy with the great service I received on my GE refrigerator!! The salesman answered all my questions. They honored their price-matching policy and I saved another $29 on top of their great price (I saved $250 over another well-known national chain). The trucking company in New York called to schedule the delivery so quickly we weren't even ready for it and had them wait a week to deliver. The fridge was in PERFECT condition. So for this Western Massachusetts resident, AJ Madison has the best prices and service period!! I have already told them that when we need another product they sell we will certainly call them first!"
