"All I can say is that I am very disappointed in the service of this company. Apparently, just like others who were looking for 6800 Ultras and stumbled on to this site, I had my order cancelled. Everything appeared to be fine and I even received estimated shipping dates in the confirmation e-mail. Unfortunately, I then received an e-mail stating that they were going to cancel my order as the cards would not be in for a long time. I have been waiting to find a 6800 Ultra for months now and I don't think a few weeks of waiting for my order to be finished is a big deal, but they apparently won't let customers do it, even though I e-mailed asking if I could just wait. I would suggest you be wary about their inventory status as the card was listed as "shipping in 1-3 days" when I ordered. Save yourself the trouble and frustration and order from somewhere else."

"I ordered a Gainward 6800 Ultra, item was listed as in stock. Sent an email to confirm the order and the arrival date. They in turn sent me an e-mail with the order confirmation and an arrival date of 8/31/2004.

The next thing I know my order is cancelled through email, the reason being that the manufacturer has not yet released the card. Which is totally bogus because the card has been available since May 2004.

They had the worst service I have ever seen. Not only did they lie about an item and it's price, they turn around and gave me a bogus reason for cancelling my order. I will never deal with them again, and would reccomend that everyone avoided them at all costs."

"I attempted to purchase a Gainward 6800 Ultra Golden Sample from these morons and they renigged on their order. The funny thing is the claim it will be a " Long time " before they get any Ultras in but when i went to newegg.com today, they just got a new stock of 6800GT/Ultra golden samples in.

They will do their best to IGNORE your emails. STAY AWAY from these people at all costs. They knew they didnt have them in stock and also knew they couldnt fulfill the orders in hopes you would buy other stuff of our their site. Very shady characters, BEWARE!."

"Hmmm, it seems like there's a trend here...
I'm in the market for a 6800 Ultra and I found it here for a decent price plus it was listed as being 'in stock'! So, I placed an order for the card on Aug 23 and received an email stating that the order would be shipped in about 1-3 days. Then I get an email saying that the video card is on backorder and there is no ETA but it will be processed and shipped as soon as a shipment arrives." So, I think, 'It's ok. It's a good price, so I can wait.'
But then yesterday I got an email saying that the "video card won't become available for a long time" so the order would be cancelled! I didn't want it to be canceled - I understand that the ultras are hard to find these days, so I can wait. But I didn't even get a choice! Whether is was intentional or not, it demonstrates poor decision making.

I would be very wary of ordering from here. I would definitely not trust the inventory status listed on the website and I'm not impressed with the customer service - they're polite, but that's not all there is to 'service.'

"Purchased a Gainward 6800 Ultra card on their website that was listed in stock. I also put Rush Processing on it since I needed it by the end of the week. I placed my order and got an e-mail the next day saying how the card was backordered and had an ETA of 8/31/04. I decided to wait since the price was the best around and I had reassurance that it would be in by then. That night I receive an e-mail stating that all orders for the card were going to be cancelled due to the fact that the manufacturer supposedly isn't giving them a date for when the cards will be in and they are just canceling all active orders for it. I tried calling customer service but n one was ever there to answer the phone.

I would be extremely cautious buying from them. Their business practices are shady and they do not keep up with inventory or product availability very well. I will most certainly never purchase from them again and will make sure to warn anyone else from doing so! "

"I ordered a Gainward GeForce 6800 Ultra with "Availability: Usually ships the next business day." After ordering I was emailed that the video card was on backorder and it would ship as soon as it arrived. The card was still listed on their website with the same availability. Days later I received an email that said the card was still on backorder with no ETA and the order was canceled. "

"Ordered an BLACK X-SUPER ALIEN PS 500W CLEAR on 12/23/03. I expected it to be a bit slow in shipping, but I am thoroughly displeased in how they handled it. First off, they showed stock on the item, yet, I didn't receive an email until the 29th that the item was backordered. I then received an email on the 31st that the item had been shipped on the 30th, and that delivery is estimated on the 5th of January. I ordered this item from them because it had 3 day shipping. It will be 8 working days for shipping if I get it on the 5th. I needed this item badly. I am thoroughly displeased with Xtreme Gear and their shipping (taking so long), and selling (backorder) practices. I understand that it is the Christmas season, but I also understand that business is business, and one should live up to what they say they will do.

Update: Got the PS today early, 01/02/04, thanks to Fedex being on the ball, especially over the Holiday season. Cudo's. It doesn't change my negative view on Xtreme Gear's practices of allowing orders to be made without letting the consumer know ahead of time that the item is backordered, and their practice of not emailing the consumer with pertinent info such as backorder, shipping, etc. in a timely fashion. I've read through the reviews of Xtreme Gear, and have come to the definate conclusion that they are not concerned with these bad practices, because every occurance of it I read about is met with the same generic response, yet it goes on, over and over again. I've not had this problem with Newegg, EVER, and I have been dealing with them for a good 7 years. Xtreme Gear: wake up and forget the "gee, I'm sorry" response, and DO something about these problems so that it doesn't happen again. In other words, "fix it, don't fake it". The bottom line is dollars, and if you keep more customers happy, they will come back to buy from you again. Simple...

Update 2: Found out that Xtreme Gear charged my card 6 days before they shipped my item. Now, that's a reputable company...

Update 3: Got the usual "canned" response from Danny Hua is an email and here. This is the same generic response that I've read in many negative reviews of Xtreme Gear, and it doesn't address any of the issues... in other words, it's their way of brushing you off...

So, the bottom line is, if you need a computer part, pay the extra dollars and get it from a reputable company that will address any issues that come up, not hide from them after they have your money. You've been warned!"

"Item showed online as instock (gainward 6800 ultra 2600 golden sample). Received confirmation immediately with ship date of 1-3 days. Next day received a BS cancellation notice claiming item was not instock, and expected ETA is so far off they was cancelling my order. True cancellation reason is they wanted to avoid honoring their price, instead of telling the truth to avoid negative feedback. Bad customer service, horrible inventory system, dishonest tactics and communication. Steer away from this place! They lost me as a possible buyer now or in the future."

"Extremely slow processing and shipping. Aparently order was to be shipped 6/3/04, but did not ship until 6/9/04. Which will be received by 6/14/04. Paid for three day shipping, but receiving 11 day shipping. Better off buying from NewEgg or ZipZoomFly with free shipping that comes in 2 days!"
