Anyways I went online and searched for custom gaming laptops and I stumbled on Xoticpc.com. I then did some research on this website/company and found nothing but positive and good comments about this website. I then decided to place my order with xoticpc. My parents wouldn't let my buy from an online store, being afraid that it was a scam. (Xoticpc is a legitimate website and company and NOT a scam.) I then called xoticpc and the sales representative, Justin W. was very helpful and answered all of my parents questions. The next day the check was in the mail, for the Gt628 pre-order. 2 months later MSI announced that the Gt628 was not to be released to the U.S. This was a bummer (not Xoticpc'S fault). I then called Justin W. and asked him if I could switch my order to the Np8662, he was very helpful and was able to switch my order to the np8662 the very minute. I only had to pay the remaining balance. After I paid the remaining balance the laptop was shipped and on it's way. 1 1/2 weeks later the laptop arrived at my front door, and I could not be much happier. The build quality is top quality, and so is the customer service! Justin W. answered all of my questions and all of my e-mails within the hour. You can't find customer support like theirs anywhere!

Support: 10/10
24/7 domestic tech support, quick e-mail responses, and regular open forums, they will answer your questions quickly and thoroughly.
Final score: 10/10
Overall I trust them and will buy from them again in the future. I will also recommended them to all my friends and family. I am very happy with the Np8662 that I bought from them, it runs flawlessly! Trust me you won't regret buying from them! :-)
Update:
It's been 5 months since I bought my sager from xoticpc, the laptop is working flawlessly. It is working as well as the first day I got it. I have had absolutely no problems with this laptop so far. This review was modified by its author, ltharry007, on

I ordered a slightly customized ASUS G51JX-A1 from Xotic PC just 7 days ago. My laptop was giving me fits, and I really wanted a gaming laptop, instead of one of the cheap $600 ones. While looking for ASUS customizers, I found Xotic PC.
I got to their site, and already knew I didn't want anything larger than a 16" screen. A lot of gamers like their 17" displays, I just don't feel like lugging that much laptop around. Xotic PC had the newest version of the ASUS G51JX laptops available for customizing and purchase.
I sat down and placed my order last Friday (3-12-2010), and ended up getting anxious and impatient before the weekend was up. I called on Monday and asked if it would be possible to put a rush on things, and possibly get the laptop by today (3-19-2010). I'd already opted for the overnight shipping option, and was told that the customizing/testing process could be rushed for $49. I was willing to pay more, to be honest, so I found that to be quite reasonable.
The laptop got here yesterday. My only gripe is towards ASUS, not Xotic PC. My almost $2,000 laptop came complete with bloatware, which in my opinion is ridiculous on a machine that costs that much.
Other than that, this is an absolutely perfect laptop in my opinion. This is the FIRST laptop I have purchased brand new, and I couldn't have gotten better service, or a better product. I have a friend that tried to order through Dell, after 3 or 4 delays in her order, she went to Wal-mart and bought an HP. I was kind of scared of the same thing happening; I needn't have worried at all.
To sum it up, Xotic PC is a superb company to buy your high performance gaming laptop from. They're quick, courteous, and extremely willing to help in any way they can. I will not only be recommending them to my friends, but I will buy from them again when it is time to upgrade from this laptop.

I just bought an Asus G73JH-A2 from Xotic PC. All my emails (including my stupid questions) were replied promptly and professionally and I received and email notifying me at every stage of the process from order received to shipped. I received the laptop in the shortest time possible and in good condition. This was my first time buying a PC online and I must say, Xotic made it so easy I may not want to go to a store to buy a pc again. The total buying experience was outstanding! Highly recommended. Oh, and I LOVE my new laptop. :D

I initially learned of xoticPc after joining the notebookreview forums. They were listed as a trusted reseller of many of the laptops I was considering for purchase. Once I decided on a laptop (Asus G73jh-a2), I contacted Xotic and was on my way. The whole process went smooth as silk (all the way from pre-order/ship/arrival/return/Rma). Justin and the guys over at Xotic are very active on the notebookreview forums and are aware of many of the issues that come up with their products. They don't hide when there are problems, and will bring the bad news if there are delays etc...
I ended up having to return the unit because of a possible motherboard/gpu defect, and Justin was very willing to proceed however I decided. He gave me the option of returning the machine, having it repaired, or trying to get me a new laptop. Good luck trying to get that kind of service from Newegg or another autonomous retailer. I would recommend Xotic 10/10 times if you are looking to purchase a new laptop. I am a network admin for a large enterprise that handles thousands of laptop, so I can hold my own when I need to troubleshoot issues. It's just nice to have a great reseller in your corner if things go south and you need to interface with the manufacturer. Thanks again Justin. I will be purchasing my (G74?) from you when it comes out!

Wow. When you have one of those experiences with truly great service that you can't think of the word to describe exactly how great it was, (insert that here). I worked with xoticpc.com, specifically Justin W., for a couple of weeks going back and forth as too what I wanted, what I wanted to spend, what questions I had, and they provided the best customer service I have ever experienced and I have been a customer support tech for SBC Global, and ordered thousands of dollars of online electronics. I placed this order on a Thursday morning, and they had problems processing my debit card. I inclined as to why and didn't get a real clear answer, but as I looked into it myself it was my bank making sure I authorized a charge of this amount. Tuesday morning I got up and found out that my laptop was being delivered this morning. WOW THAT WAS FAST! 4 business days. And this wasn't just a order what you see laptop, I had the memory changed, the hard drive changed, etc. It was customized to exactly what I wanted, and they even put on special thermal compound (IC7 Diamond - The Best) for only 35 bucks. Compare that to some other places that I looked at and they charged over 100 dollars for this service. With the service I received, the value I received, and the insane quickness of this order, xoticpc.com will get my business in the future, and I would recommend it to anyone that reads this, as well as my family, friends, and anyone I talk to that is looking for a new laptop. You don't find very many places that offer this kind of customer service anymore. And to boot, the laptop I ordered was an ASUS which comes with a 2 year parts and labor plus shipping costs covered warranty and a 1 year accidental damage warranty. Again, thanks to xoticpc.com for their amazing service and especially Justin W. for his outstanding service going above and beyond any other customer service rep I have ever dealt with.

Well Its been interesting dealing with Xotic. This review is fairly long but please read it till the end.
I must say they have some excellent sales associates, The Josephs and Justin, were very helpful with a lot of the pre-sale information and walked me through the steps to purchase the laptop. And I was able to contact them and have them provide me with a promotional game code.
However once I made my order communication came to a halt. The only updates I received on my came after I sent them an e-mail. In addition to that, those e-mails were replied to days later rather then my presale questions which took hours.
My order was for a fairly popular laptop and I understand that there was a back order, however one of my major gripes is the lack of communication about the backlog.
I had some difficulty with the ordering process for my custom skin, while it turned out pretty good but would have been nice if there was any sort of template that allowed me to position the skin the way I really wanted it. The skin it self is quite nice but parts -usually the harder to reach edges - didn't seem to have been cut to well as there is some peeling and unevenness, but its not noticeable unless your really looking for it.
I can't say I recommend the cooler I bought from Xotic, the specs were vague on the specs, and it seems to be some generic cooler. It does seem to work okay.
I ordered an extended battery from Xotic, I never received it with my main order. I called up Xotic and they told me the battery was on back order, they were able to arrange it so that I wouldn't have to pay additional shipping or customs fees/taxes!
About 2 Months after I received my laptop I received my battery. It was not the right battery. Xotic able to was send me a shipping label and even thought I missed the 10 day window to ship it back they finally sent me a new label.
They received the item, and I received my refund.
Overall, Xotic gives a strong impression of a customer oriented business and it is true.
The Justin's and Joseph and Jason provided alot of helpful answers and they have been helping with a hardware problem I'm having.
I was disappointed by the lack of communication and the screw-up when I initially posted this review, but Jason from Xotic actually contacted me! We talked a little about the problems I had and I worked with him to come to a terrific solution. It Is good to finally find a company that is willing to go out of its way to make its customers happy!
Even with the few setbacks I'm actually quite happy with the computer they sold me and now quite impressed by the company and its wonderful staff!
On a side not it seems that if your name starts with a J your have a better then average chance of getting hired here. lol.
Again,Thanks a lot! This review was modified by its author, GizmoTEK, on

XOTIC PC is top class in their service. It was my fist time buying something online and they made it really easy for me. The sale advisor was always replying emails and also attending famous forums where help are given to people in need.
To sum all, it was a real pleasure to do business with Xotic PC and look forward for the next time.
Cheers!

Purchased Sager 9280, Core I7 3.2Gz, Thermal IC diamond, Raid 0 on two drives, third one Stand alone. Set up from xoticpc was as specified. Win 7 OS installed without bloatware, that's great. You've probably read that many times but man, this thing is HUGE. In a nice way though. It is definitely a desktop replacement. Much nicer aesthetically than it is shown on pics. The reason: Photographer didn't succeed to remove the glare from the shine while shooting (those are BAD pictures - BTW Im a photographer). This pc is actually 2 tones; a nice deep grey, and sparkling black. The unit feels very solid, well build. I was unsure to make this huge financial leap online, without 'feeling' the product first hand, and the fact that i live in canada but all and all I'm happy with the purchase. (fyi - if canadians; there is no import tax, only the regular provincial ones) This is my first 3600$ cdn laptop. It looks like it will last.

I had a great experience with Xotic PC all around.
Communication - excellent! Email and phone service is top-notch, friendly, and very helpful.
Customer Service - my original notebook that I ordered through their online site was not currently in stock. I received email notification on other possibilities if I wanted the notebook sooner. I spoke with someone on the phone to verify a few questions and ended up with a better build overall.
Shipping - fast! and packaging for the order was excellent.
Quality - I have had this notebook for almost 5 months now and am extremely satisfied.
I have recommended Xotic PC to several friends as my experience was great. I'll definitely order from them in the future!

I ordered my computer--a Sager NP 8690--on Tuesday, January 26 and got it Monday, February 8, so it took less than 2 weeks to custom-build, inspect, ship, and deliver my computer.
The order process was updated every step of the way, so I could monitor the process at any given time, from order entry (Phase 1) through build (Phase 2) to shipment (Phase 4). The tracking information on the shipment was precise and easy to use.
It cost approximately USD $35.00 to ship, which I admit was a bit of a bummer, as other resellers (i.e. HP and Lenovo) had free shipping. The computer however was securely packaged and pristine, with a clear plastic sheet protecting the top and another sheet, this one made of extra thin foam--protecting the screen.
The computer itself was flawless--not a single scratch, not a single bad pixel.
I had been wary of both Sager and of xoticpc before my experience, as I'd never heard of either. I am extremely pleased with both. Details below:
The computer:
The screen: the screen is simply gorgeous--by far the nicest, prettiest screen I've ever seen. Sharp, colorful, and although it is glossy--my preference--somehow there isn't a lot of glare, so I don't know how they manage that.
The keyboard: "chicklet" style, which is my preference. The keys are very responsive without being overly so, and have a slight, agreeable "bounce". There is a slight noise when you hit the keys but it is not loud or obnoxious. The F keys are reasonably-sized (unlike on the HP dv7t, on which they are ridiculously small) and there is a full number pad to the right, which is nice.
Mouse and trackpad: responsive. Made of the same material as the wrist rests (a matte resin), which is fine by me. Both are a little on the small side for my taste--I am used the the mouse/trackpad on Dell Latitudes and/or Mac ibooks circa 2000. Still, this is, again, a much, much better mouse and track pad than I experienced with either the HP dv7t or HP's tablet, both of which were small and strangely placed on the left hand side of the machine.
Speed: Astonishing. It took me 40 minutes to download AutoCad, when it took almost five hours with the HP dv7t (and I wasn't able to download it at all with my old Latitude). Note that I selected to have 6G memory and a SSHD.
Look: Fine. Quietly classy. Outside isn't much to look at--just a brushed black resin--but the inside has a glossy bar between the F keys and the screen, which adds a nice, subtle style touch.
Speakers: so-so. I'm not picky about sound--it is the least of my priorities--but I admit it does sound a little tinny to my ears.
Weight/size: perfect. Really not too heavy at all. The laptop is, however, much thicker than any of my previous laptops, i.e. Macbooks, Dell Inspirion, or even the HPs.
I found the 12" HP tablet/screen size to be way, way, way too small. The 17.3" dv7t was too big and bulky. This screen is juuuuust right.
Wrist rests: the only thing that is a bit of a bummer so far is that the wrist rests are very deep. The result is that after a lot of typing when the computer is flush on my lap, I develop a bit of a welt on my right forearm.
As for the customer service from xoticpc:
Responsiveness: Excellent. The sales staff (Justin W) got back to me right away. He called back when he said he would, and spent a huge amount of time (i.e. an hour) helping me with every step in the process. This must have been a bummer for him because I am indecisive and, let's be blunt, a bit of a pain, but he was professional, nice, pleasant, and helpful from beginning to end. He promised--and sent--a demonstration on youtube comparing SSHD performance with regular HD performance. He answered all my questions on all emails I sent. He never tried to upsell me--in fact, almost the opposite, i.e. he told me he thought SSHDs are over priced right now. I decided to go with one after other upsells I'd planned on I decided not to get after we decided they were unnecessary at this time (i.e. a notebook cooler; extended warantee, etc.)
All in all, I feel 100% good about my purchase. I love the computer and I definitely would recommend xoticpc to family and friends.

This was my first purchase from Xotic PC and I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the transaction was. One of the best aspects was the personal attention received from the moment I placed my order.
Xotic always kept me informed of the status of my order including connecting the fact that I placed an order and also had posted questions on their message boards. Their personnel answered by questions by going directly to my order to make sure the information and response I received was accurate and tailored to my needs.
As for the product, I could not be more pleased. I will definitely be buying my next computer from Xotic and will highly recommend them to others.

April 2009 I purchased an Asus laptop from BB, used it for a while but it didnt have what i needed, so i gave it to the wife and purchased a another laptop through BB, more geared for gaming and something to keep me occupied in my off time on my deployment. Unfortunately that laptop had an accident, someone accidentally smashed the screen.
This time I decided I wanted to really shop around, find the perfect laptop that I wanted.. not a thrown together pre-packaged laptop from a big name company that i'd end up spending more money on than its worth. I did a lot of research prior to buying, reading reviews, reading forums, etc. I ended up deciding on buying a Sager, and xoticpc came highly recommended by some members of the notebookreview.com forums. They were great, both Justin and Joseph that I talked to helped me along the whole process. The livechat feature on their website made it even easier, I'm currently serving overseas and I can either use my magicjack which can lag and be very annoying, or a phone card at the call center to call back to the states, so this was perfect. They were there every step of the way to make sure I was happy and I can say their customer service was great! I'd gladly recommend them to anyone, even if its just to ask their opinion on any of the models they sell, im sure they'd be happy to give their input. Looking forward to doing business with them in the future.

The staff is experienced and proffesional. Buying a laptop is an important decision (not only regarding price, but many other factors as well) and the patience of these guys was above and beyond. They also have a forum in which many of their past customers keep participating, contributing and helping the less experienced people.
The laptop itself arrived on time with no fuss, with everything working and in order. Few weeks in I had a small problem, and while manufacturer took 3 weeks to respond, Xotic did it in few hours! They won't solve all your problems, but they will escort you to the point where you're completly satisfied.
Overall, 5 0f 5, 10 of 10, 2 thumbs up... whatever you wanna call it, it's the right place to get your laptop!

This being the first time I have ordered from XoticPC, I was a bit nervous, but I took a leap of faith and jumped. I did my research first using this and other sites to check their ratings and XoticPC received high marks. All of the high marks in customer service and quality are justified. They work with you to find a solution and that is a prize in this economy and market where customer service is a premium product, especially with real people answering the phone. I worked with Joseph Lee and he was accommodating and customer oriented! Great job Joe!!!
I bought the Sager NP8690 (Built on Clevo W860CU) Custom Gaming Laptop. I'm not much of a gamer but I am a graphic/web designer and need most of the bells and whistles that gamers use day to day. I needed a cross between a desktop replacement and portability, this seemed a good match.
Pros: Excellent performance and value compared to competitors' laptops. Surprisingly quiet for the number of fans. I have owned a Dell desktop replacement and other computers and by far this exceeds them all. This machine came with it's own CDs, no bloatware, is relatively quiet, and has an excellent design overall.
Xotic PC has a solid support mechanism and good quality control system. I had to send the first unit back for replacement due to a screen issue. Granted it took longer than I would have liked but to be fair that was not an issue that XoticPC could control as it was the Holidays and Sager was taking time off. So I won't be a Grinch about the time they took.
Cons: I do recommend buying a cooler as it does run a bit hot but not more than my previous Dell. It's a 15.6 laptop and as such its weight is greater but not a real drawback. I noticed a stuck pixel a week ago, but it fixed itself after a small amount of pressure to the pixel area. The USB ports aren't all in convenient places and the one right by where you use the mouse is annoying but again not a serious issue.
Once I received the replacement laptop and put it through some paces using Adobe Photoshop 64b version, Lightroom 64b version, Premiere Elements, and a few other programs I was more than satisfied with it's speed, RAM (4G), and relative heat output when in use for long periods of time.
So Far, I haven't found a single application that it can't run. If you're in the market for a good graphics machine that is a cross between the high end Desktop Replacement and something a little more portable this is for you! You'll be very happy with the customization options and solid performance you get out of the 8690.
