"11/15/06-I ordered psp pre-mod system on Novemeber 15th 2006 and my credit card was charged on 11/22. I have been sending numerous e-mails regarding my order status but I they have never replied my mails, although it has been more than 10 days since I first sent e-mails to them. I tried calling them but it goes to voice mail...
When I look at other people's review, it seems that they obviously have communication problems and it takes some time even if you receive your product.
I am getting extremely nervous since I am living in Japan and there are not many things I can do apart from reproting to the VISA Card Company regarding this.
It is December 1st today and I don't see my products or any e-mails regarding my order status from them.
X-BOX Modchips.com, if anybody working there see this, please at least reply my e-mails. I will understand if you are backlogged with other orders but please reply my e-mails. $469 is not cheap money. I saved up a lot of money to buy pay this. Please have some respects towards customer.
Viewers of resellerratings.com, I will keep you updated. I would like to be fair, so if I receive my product, or if the problem is solved I will post it. This is the experience that I have so far with Xbox Modchips.com. Thanks

Update
1/10/07: I still have not received the my premodded psp (order #26358). It has been two months since I ordered the product and I don't have the product and they never even sent me any e-mails confirming my order status.
On 12/7/2006, I got an e-mail from Jan telling me that she will look into my order and get back to me with a tracking, but she never got back to me.
Since they are not even willing to send the product or even contact me regarding the order status, I had no choice but to file a complaint to the Credit Card Company on the 1/9/07. Anybody in xbox modchips.com, if you look at this post, please do something about this.

If any of you are thinking about purchasing product from them beware.

"Five days after I placed my order, I received an "ORDER COMPLETED" email. The money was taken out of my account on this day. One of my queries was answered several days later, and in response to my requests for more information (i.e- a reasonable shipping date) I received one cursory reply from "Jan" to tell me that my order would be looked into and a tracking number provided.

I have since had nothing from them - no replies to increasingly agitated queries, no package, no updates on my order, and no response to several calls made to their answering service.

So far, they have failed to uphold claims regarding shipment times, query response times, their Live Support (which I have yet to see "live") and their guidelines for ordering in time for Christmas.

As it has been almost a month now since I made my order, three weeks since money was taken from my credit card, and with no further correspondence to reassure me, I cannot help but to assume the worst.

UPDATE (3rd Jan):
Finally having had enough of the silent treatment, I demanded a refund. I did this in several messages over several days, by phone and by email.

I received another brief message from "Jan" stating that they'd had problems with their installers and expected to ship the following week.

A week has passed with no further information.

I have now contacted my credit card company, who inform me that I am covered and can expect my money back within the working week.

ADDENDUM (8th Jan):
Late on the evening of the 3rd (the day in which I contacted my credit card provider) I received emails apparently in response to all three open tickets on the system. Three identical emails stated that I had been refunded on the 29th of December.

I checked my credit card statement right then, and sure enough, the amount had appeared as credit... dated 3rd of January. The amount was less £19GB - and without any further information from the reseller, I can only make assumptions.

My disappointment is that I never received the item that was ordered - especially when that item was ordered in time for Christmas delivery. My queries were not answered in a timely manner, and even then, the responses were unsatisfactory.

Maybe I was just unlucky and XBMC was so inundated that they simply had no chance to respond adequately to one customer's needs - but my card was charged long before any action was taken to provide my goods, and subsequent problems remained unreported until far too late.

I believe that this reseller could improve customer experience if they left charging for an item (and reporting a 'completed order') until the item is at least ready to ship. They need to be more transparent in their operations, and provide more information to customers regarding delays. It pays to be up front and honest with your customers, as some things are better handled by a frank apology.

It really helps if a customer has the impression that the retailer exists somewhere behind the facade of their site. Unfortunately, XBMC's current practices leave you to make your own assumptions - an online query system where issues are not fully addressed and responses to emails/tickets are not efficiently collated can only make things worse.

(!)According to their response to this review, am I to presume that *emails* are harder to send to an overseas customer? Is it a problem related to the thousands of miles of wire and fibre they have to traverse? Did they get lost along the way, messages informing me of a refund, sent ON the 29th?

A delay subsequent to the posting of my refund is expected - emails however, do not take four days to compose on the subject of a refund. Perhaps I am a lower priority because I don't live next door?

Evidently, that wouldn't do a lot of good either...

This reviewer would not recommend XBox-ModChips.com until they have given serious consideration to revising their systems and improving their customer support.

ONE LAST NOTE (9th Jan):
I have just had a call from my credit card provider, who have offered to reimburse the £19. More importantly, I have preliminary confirmation that the refund was posted ON the 3rd! O.o

Bad show, XBox-ModChips! A prompt refund with an honest apology would have been far more appreciated. Let your response to this review remain as a sign of your slap-shod service; the dates, after all, are pretty much self-evident.

RE: further comment.
While this seems to you a point worthy of dispute, it is of little importance when one considers that the refund was a result of LACK of PRODUCT and my SUBSEQUENT COMPLAINT. So service was suddenly ADEQUATE regarding the refund? Who cares?

Your claims and that of my ever-communicative CC provider do not appear to tally. Who should I trust? When it comes down to it, up to the third of January, I had no reason to expect that money to be anywhere other than the bowels of your business. Silence engenders no trust.

NB: I think XBMC's responses to these reviews are most indicative of the sort of crappy attitude one might expect from them."

“Your order was refunded, it takes longer to post to your card as you are an international customer.

UPDATE 1/9/07
Also please note your credit card is in British Pounds and we charged you in USD. We refunded the EXACT amount in USD if the rates have changed with your credit card company thats on them.

As we said due to you being an International customer it takes far longer for a refund to be posted to your card then someone in North America.

"This store has serious customer communication issues. I made an order for an XCM XBOX360 fan kit with the extra fan and 2 different tool sets (over $100) with overnight shipping back on June 28th. On July 3rd they charged my card and I haven't heard anything since.

No product and worst of all no communication. Their phone line dumps to what sounds like a cheap v.mail box or home answering machine while the message deceivingly tells you someone will help you in a moment. I called and left multiple messages with no answer. I emailed sales their info address and tried their support system which generated and then promptly lost my request ticket.

I know that this fan kit is a hot item and I know other distributions are back ordered, so if that's the case I understand (even though the items were listed as InStock when I ordered). What I don't understand is the utter lack of communication with the customer. It seems to me that this business is someones side job while they work 9-5 elsewhere. Order from these guys with caution.

UPDATE 7/23/2007
It's nice to see these guys to respond to some customers (see complaint posted above). It's too bad they pick and choose who they like to help and who they don't like. I didn't know being a paying customer was a popularity contest. We have disputed the $109 charge with our Credit company and will be looking elsewhere for the item.

UPDATE July 28th
Well we never got any contact, we have successfully disputed the charge and were refunded by our CC. I ordered the needed parts from another vendor on Monday the 23rd and had my parts by 2 days later. Now why can't XBOX Modchips do that?

Also it appears that XBOX Modchips may be artificially boosting their rating here so as of today we are reporting them to this host site."

"Ordered a modded Xbox on 3/1 through xbox-modchips and was forwarded over to americanxboxmodchips to fill the order, in big letters on the page it boasts order filled in 1 to 10 days. It's now been thirty days, 3 emails and 2 phone calls and no answers what so ever thus far. The $400 dollars sure came off my card quick, you'd think someone wouldn't want to lose that kind of business. Going to turn it over to the credit card company's fraud section on Tuesday because there has been nothing thus far to let me know this is anything other than a scam."

"Since placing my order 1 month ago, I have not received my order, a tracking number, information about the status of my order, or any explanation. I have sent several emails to their different email addresses, called the telephone number on their website and left a message, logged a ticket on their support page - still no response.

I received this email 1 month after placing my order :
------------------------------------------------------
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2007 11:40:55 -0400
We have received your voicemail sorry for the delay in response.

Our installer has been running a bit behind as of late, we will contact him and see when your system will be shipping.

We will get back to you with an order status update.

Thank you

Jan
------------------------------------------------------
I logged another ticket on their support page after hearing nothing from them again :

Today is 8/2/2007, 9 days ago you told me you would get back to me with an order status update. Is my order still being processed, or are you going to refund me, or do I have to contact my credit card company for a refund?
-------------

I will try ordering from www.modchip.ca because they responded when I asked them questions, and they have a nearly perfect rating with 90 reviews."

"I just purchased 3 Xenium S.P. ICE chips, and they are AWSOME! I received my shipment extremely fast, and have had no problems with xbox-modchips. I have made 3 orders (5 chips) within the last 4 months, and they are the only ones I would recommend getting a mod chip from. Their support forum is great also!"

"These guys are crooks, I hope that more people read these reviews before they buy from them , I should have done that. I ordered a fan unit and a case on 12/6/06 and after promising and promising that it would be here before X-mas it never showed. Two days after X-mas a box arrived that had the case mod (at least I got something) but no fan units.

They said I must have missed them in the box, how do you missa whole fan unit? After I told them it was not here they (Jan) kept saying that they would ship it and send a tracking number.

I finally told them that if I did not have a response from them by today, 01/05/07, I would dispute with my CC company.

So I waited the whole week and received no E-mail, nothing from these guys, I just hung up with the CC company after filing dispute.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS

UPDATE 1/8/07

I cannot beleive that you reponded in this way, I told you EXACTLY the amount I was disputing (65.40 out of 197.00). If you think that my E-mails were unclear IN THE LEAST about what I ordered and what I received, you should go and take some reading lessons, how many times did I need to write to you, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE FANS for you to understand. Also it was YOU who were unclear about what you sent in your E-mails not me. JAN offered to ship out the missing parts but never did, as far as I can see, you are just a bunch of guys with good products but no customer service and it is obvious that you do not know how to run a business.

UPDATE 1-10

I will give credit where credit is due.
True to his word he did ship the fans and they arrived in perfect order, as I said earlier the products that they sell are great, I just wish I did not have to go through this to get them. I have canceled the CC dispute with my card company."

"I wish I read this before I ordered. I seriously doubt I'm gonna get anything anytime soon. The funny thing is I chose phone order and they were so quick to call me, less than a minute, but for the past two weeks I've been trying to call them, but they never pick up and it's they're answering machine all the time. They never respond to their emails. They lie on there dates. 2-10 days to mod and ship the console. OMG By the end of April if I don't get anything. I'm referring to my lawyer and my CC company as well as any other way with the law to get a refund or my order. It infuriates me how you can LIE so badly. OMG"

“Well lets see here, when you placed your order via the phone we told you that it can take up to 14 business days to ship a PS2 PREMOD due to the amount of orders we have processed at this time. You said that was okay, I suppose you just forgot about that whole thing where we told you how long it would take and why? We also spoke with your brother the other day and informed him about the time frame.

Please note as of today 4/27/2007 it is the 13th business day since you placed your order.

But due to the extremely rude emails you have been sending to us our team has decided to cancel and REFUND YOUR ORDER.

Perhaps in the future when you order from a company and speak with a sales rep on the phone, that informs you how long it will take to ship your system... you should WRITE IT DOWN!”
