"Ordered two pairs of Danner boots from them, and got back an order notice saying they won't ship for 2 months. I'm curious if it's because I used a 10 percent off coupon code, as the Portland Danner factory store says they have plenty in stock. Ended up ordering from Amazon and received them in 2 days. I'll wait to see if I eventually get the two pairs from WPS (admittedly for a good deal) but I'm not going to hold my breath.In any event, even with drop shipping, there is simply no excuse for these kinds of shenanigans in 2013. WPS should either keep a real inventory, pay suppliers to reserve a certain level of inventory, or just accurately report all current stock and shipping times. They seem to do none of these things, and are thus a pointless middleman between the manufacturers and consumers, rather than an real online retailer.Oh, and since this happened , I have received *10* e-mails from them saying my item is delayed. Clearly they want me to cancel the order."
"Re: 2 different orders dated 1/20/13 and 2/10/13. Had issues with shirt quality. The stitching was coming undone on the pockets of this garment. "SLOW, SLOW, SLOW shipping!!! I placed my order in February for a pair of Timberland boots for my husband's birthday. The website said they would be shipped February 28. I received an email about a week later stating that they were on back order and would not ship until 3/29. I have waited all month for them to ship so I could surprise my husband with them. Then yesterday I received another email saying that these boots were on back order again until 4/19!!! Seriously??? Over 6 weeks for a pair of boots? Maybe if I had ordered 300 pair of boots the wait would be understandable, but I only ordered 1 pair, and at the time I ordered the website said they were available. I cannot check the status of my order on the website because at the time of my order I checked out as a guest, and did not set up an account. I have to call to find anything out. I have 2 different order numbers emailed to me for the same order, so I never know which one to use to check the status online.UPDATE After posting this review, I received a call on 4/4 in which the rep said they would take 15 percent off my order total. On 4/17 I quit receiving order status emails. I assumed this meant the order had shipped and I would receive tracking info shortly. I never did! I called customer service on 4/22 to find out what was going on. They had been unable to process the credit card payment but never informed me. Why ask for customer email addresses if the company won't communicate order issues? I made the payment over the phone and was told the order would ship right away. A week later I still had no tracking number or order status update. I called customer service again, and they informed me the order had been put on back order AGAIN UNTIL MAY 17. There was never an email sent to me or a phone call made and the rep that processed the payment never said it was on back order again. I PLACED THIS ORDER IN FEBRUARY, AND DUE TO LACK OF FOLLOW UP AND COMMUNICATION IT WILL BE MAY BEFORE I RECEIVE THIS ORDER AND THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY! They do not have a suitable substitute for my order so I have to just wait. It would have been nice if anyone would have let me know what was going on with my order since before the payment was made I received DAILY EMAILS about the pending ship date! I have NEVER dealt with such POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! The reps are all easy enough to deal with but the company has no idea how to handle the retail issues in a professional manner. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE YOU FROM ORDERING FROM THIS STORE. YOU MAY WAIT MONTHS FOR YOU ORDER. THE FRUSTRATION IS NOT WORTH THE FEW DOLLARS YOU SAVE."

If there is a product that does have a back order date which extends as far as yours does, we would do whatever we can to find a pair that is available or see if there is another product that we could replace, since Timberland does not have that item in stock at that moment. I am going to have someone reach out to you right now to see if there is anything we can do to figure out another option or some sort of discount. Again, I am so sorry that someone did not reach out to you to notify you directly in this situation, especially since it was supposed to be a surprise. "I love the store, brands, concept, customer service is amazing, howeverA few words of caution:Compare prices, they can be as much as 25% more on some items, so take advantage of the price matchTheir inventory is not live, which is very unprofessional. I have seen small businesses do much better, step it up!4 of my 4 items have not shipped, all 4 out of stock, only 1 item is at warehouse, 10 days later.To counter reply; I appreciate you attempting to expedite the order. I will for now stay with the fake invoice number and email support.I think it would be wise to state the status prior to me paying. eg: in stock, out, on order, etc."
“This is not an actual order number. I would like to help resolve this issue but without that order number I can not validate that this order has been placed. Additionally, we partner with our manufacturers for efficiency purposes by shipping not only from our own warehouse, but directly from their warehouses to our customers door. We do recommend price matching anything on our site as we offer a 120% price match guarantee. Various brands on our site are actually on live inventory. The complication occurs when certain vendors do not have the technology needed to feed us their live inventory, therefore, we have no way to show this data on our website. I would like to try to see if there is anything I can do to help speed your order along, but I need an order number to do so. If you would please reply with your correct order number that would be very much appreciated.”

"I ordered a pair of Milwaukee boots as a gift for my father's birthday and I can't say enough good things about this company! I'm not an expert on men's boots, and I wanted to make sure I ordered the correct size. Not only was the customer service representative courteous and professional, her product knowledge helped put my mind at ease so I was confident in my final purchase. The boots were not in stock, which is normal with most places, but she again put my mind at ease by explaining they would be shipped to me direct from the manufacturer within 7-14 business days with the free shipping option. They arrived in plenty of time for my father's birthday and I now know where I'll be buying my brother's birthday gift too! From start to finish, easy, friendly, knowledgeable, and hassle free. "NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN! I will never be shopping with this site again, and you shouldn't either if you value your time or money. I ordered from this company with expedited shipping. When I went to check the tracking number they sent me I found out that my order was actually broken up into 2 shipments. Then they refused to expedite the second shipment and get it here on time. In the working work you know scheduling and deadlines are everything, but this store respects neither of these concepts. Evey one makes mistakes, but most companies do whatever it takes to fix them. “This customer was contacted and the situation was solved. All of the items she ordered were not able to reach her with in a weeks time, so she had to cancel the order. We split the shipment up, but unfortunately one item was not available to us for 15 days after the order date. We reimbursed her shipping costs and canceled the order no questions asked. By the end of it all she was happy that we were there to reconcile the issue, although she wished we could have gotten everything she ordered in the time frame that she needed.”
"The secret is that you should call them before placing an order. Some stuff is "in stock" while other items ship directly from the manufacturer. Timberland Pro Pitt Boss boots ordered on a holiday, 9/3, and they shipped on 9/5 from the manufacturer. Carhartt j141 jackets ordered on 9/5, in stock, and shipped same day. I chose the UPS ground shipping method. 3 days from Indiana to MA. Free shipping, no sales tax, solid pricing. I'll use them again. Again, this is one store that you need to call before placing an order so that you can determine stocking status and time to ship. If you do this you'll be all set. They could do a better job of letting consumers know what is in stock and what is not in stock, this would alleviate a ton of aggravation. I would have given them 5 stars if they did a better job of letting you know what was and wasn't in stock but as long as you call them you will level set your expectations."

"Update: A few days after posting my review, I was contacted by Working Person's Store. They apologized for my troubles and offered to make the order right by finding a replacement boot. They did just that and sold me a more expensive and better U.S.A.-made boot for the same price as the boot in my original order. The boots were sent direct from the manufacturer via second-day delivery. My total experience tells me that the company does try to do things right but they have some newer employees who have not been given enough training to be able to do their jobs effectively. Bottom line is, if you seem to be getting the run-around, ask to speak with a supervisor.Original review: I recently blew out my old pair of work boots and, after spending a lot of time to find a replacement pair in my size (12B), I found a good boot at Working Person's Store. I needed the new boots quickly. I called WPS before placing the order to verify shipping and availability and was told that, while WPS didn't have stock on hand, the boots would be drop-shipped from the manufacturer. I was told that I would have the boots by the end of the following week. I ordered them online immediately. Halfway through the wait for the boots to arrive, I received an email telling me that the boots are on back order and will not be available for almost two months. Calling WPS customer service to find out what happened only yielded excuses and not a bit of help. To say the least, I canceled the order and will not do business with this company again."
“We enjoyed working with Mike. Not only was he pleasant to work with, he gave us some much needed feedback on how we can make improvements. We found Mike another option for 12B American made boots since the pair he ordered were discontinued. He ended up receiving a very nice pair of Carolina boots. He is correct, we do try to do things correct the first time. If they are not handled correctly the first time we want to do whatever we can to make sure our customers are satisfied.”
"This company is terrible..... STAY AWAY and buyer beware.It seems they are nothing more than a storefront with no inventory and nothing but form letters for replies to inquiries.They don't advise you items are on backorder and then when you call them to find out where your order is they give you the runaround and a date the items will ship...... lets just say 17 days later still have not heard from them and item still has not shipped."
“Our policy is a 24-48 processing time and up to 14 business days for the free shipment selection. The order was placed 6/5. That means the order should reach the customer no more than 14 days from 6/7. The order was canceled on 6/22, 11 business days later. Part of the order would have been shipped 6/23 with a two day ship, reaching them by 6/25. The last item on the order was not available to us until 7/2 and would not have made it them by 6/27, 14 business days later. We were willing to do a split shipment as the last product would have held the entire order up but they decided to canceled. We do sincerely apologize for this issue and wanted to make it right. Unfortunately, we have tried to reach out to this customer but have not had a reply.”

"I originally started shopping with WP because of their customer service, they made me feel like a valued customer, and I don’t mind spending a little extra money when they have good customer service. However, after this last experience, I am totally dissatisfied and will not shop with them again. I tried to order a Pair of Boots back in Dec, but every time I tried to place the order it added a Priority charge, which shipping should have been free. I email them twice, but never received a response. I sent another email to customer service regarding the problem, and they finally responded apologizing, stating that they didn’t know anything about it, and never received the previous emails. In any case they never resolved the issue, so I went in as a guest and placed my order with no problem. With my order I was to receive a free Danner wallet. Well I received my boots, but never received the wallet. Tiried of dealing with them and will shop else where from here on out "
