If there is a product that does have a back order date which extends as far as yours does, we would do whatever we can to find a pair that is available or see if there is another product that we could replace, since Timberland does not have that item in stock at that moment. I am going to have someone reach out to you right now to see if there is anything we can do to figure out another option or some sort of discount. Again, I am so sorry that someone did not reach out to you to notify you directly in this situation, especially since it was supposed to be a surprise. I hope there is something we can do for you to hopefully get this settled. Thank you for taking the time to write this review so this problem is brought to our attention. Someone will be in contact. reply posted Jan-11-2013 “This is not an actual order number. I would like to help resolve this issue but without that order number I can not validate that this order has been placed. Additionally, we partner with our manufacturers for efficiency purposes by shipping not only from our own warehouse, but directly from their warehouses to our customers door. We do recommend price matching anything on our site as we offer a 120% price match guarantee. Various brands on our site are actually on live inventory. The complication occurs when certain vendors do not have the technology needed to feed us their live inventory, therefore, we have no way to show this data on our website. I would like to try to see if there is anything I can do to help speed your order along, but I need an order number to do so. If you would please reply with your correct order number that would be very much appreciated.”

reply posted Nov-05-2012 “This customer was contacted and the situation was solved. All of the items she ordered were not able to reach her with in a weeks time, so she had to cancel the order. We split the shipment up, but unfortunately one item was not available to us for 15 days after the order date. We reimbursed her shipping costs and canceled the order no questions asked. By the end of it all she was happy that we were there to reconcile the issue, although she wished we could have gotten everything she ordered in the time frame that she needed.”

reply posted Nov-05-2012 “We enjoyed working with Mike. Not only was he pleasant to work with, he gave us some much needed feedback on how we can make improvements. We found Mike another option for 12B American made boots since the pair he ordered were discontinued. He ended up receiving a very nice pair of Carolina boots. He is correct, we do try to do things correct the first time. If they are not handled correctly the first time we want to do whatever we can to make sure our customers are satisfied.”

reply posted Nov-08-2012 “Our policy is a 24-48 processing time and up to 14 business days for the free shipment selection. The order was placed 6/5. That means the order should reach the customer no more than 14 days from 6/7. The order was canceled on 6/22, 11 business days later. Part of the order would have been shipped 6/23 with a two day ship, reaching them by 6/25. The last item on the order was not available to us until 7/2 and would not have made it them by 6/27, 14 business days later. We were willing to do a split shipment as the last product would have held the entire order up but they decided to canceled. We do sincerely apologize for this issue and wanted to make it right. Unfortunately, we have tried to reach out to this customer but have not had a reply.”
"Ordered two pairs of Danner boots from them, and got back an order notice saying they won't ship for 2 months. I'm curious if it's because I used a 10 percent off coupon code, as the Portland Danner factory store says they have plenty in stock. Ended up ordering from Amazon and received them in 2 days. I'll wait to see if I eventually get the two pairs from WPS (admittedly for a good deal) but I'm not going to hold my breath.
In any event, even with drop shipping, there is simply no excuse for these kinds of shenanigans in 2013. WPS should either keep a real inventory, pay suppliers to reserve a certain level of inventory, or just accurately report all current stock and shipping times. They seem to do none of these things, and are thus a pointless middleman between the manufacturers and consumers, rather than an real online retailer.
Oh, and since this happened , I have received *10* e-mails from them saying my item is delayed. Clearly they want me to cancel the order."
