"I'm a student / web developer (and occasional computer gamer) from the UK.

I bought a Voodoo, so that I didn't have to build one myself, and also because of their reputation - which was forfilled on my purchase."

"The Laptop is absolutely incredible!!!!! I have now ordered my 5th top-off-the-line laptop!

I have never seen such quality and attention to detail as I have seen with this company. It is not often that you find a company that really cares about their customers and because of the way I have been treated, we will continue to purchase our high-end laptops from VooDooPC.

I have had such poor support and service from a company, that I will not mention, that also caters to the high end Laptop market that I refuse to ever speak to them again!

In comparison, I will be ordering even more laptops from VoodooPC VERY soon!"

"I am a health care professional and work with large format 8 to 12 MP RAW digital photographs/Photoshop CS, very large/complicated Illustrator files, desktop publishing, large format printer files (poster presentations), database management and statistical analysis and graphical plotting, CAD work, and gaming. I have laptops from Compaq, Dell, and Sony, and high-end desktops from HP and Gateway (P4 extreme w/ HT, 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI graphics, fast SATA drives). Admittedly, my new Voodoo is configured with more power than the other laptops, but the quality is so much better - quiet, solid, great keyboard, and crisp display with NO lost pixels (every other laptop had a few noticeable dropped pixels but did not qualify for replacement). My new Voodoo Envy M:780 blows them all away including my similarly configured desktops. It is simply a fantastic and beautiful machine. My future systems (laptop and desktops) will be Voodoo!

Regarding cost, Voodoo is known for being pricey, but look at what I found: Before ordering I looked at Dell. For an Inspiron XPS system with only a 15.4 inch display (my Voodoo is 17 inch), the same 3.4GHz P4 extreme/HT processor, same RAM (2GB), only 128MB video (my Voodoo has 256MB), and only a 100GB ultra ATA drive (my Voodoo has dual 10,000 RPM 72GB SATA drives) THE PRICE WAS THE SAME AS MY VOODOO!!! Less machine without the added quality of the Voodoo but the same price… It is worth noting the Voodoo policy of offering future system component upgrades at dealer cost! Also, Voodoo was pretty much right on target with the estimated shipping date from the start. They even managed to get it to me a few days sooner then expected and customer updating and ease of contacting Voodoo is exceptional."

As many of you know I have 2 Voodoo systems excluding this one. Additionally, I have (now had) a water-cooled DIY PC that I adored but decided to take apart. Originally I was going to take it apart and transfer some of the components to a Lian-Li P-V2000B.

Even though I have the Rage SLi and m860, the f5's redeeming qualities intrigued me. Going against a great deal of my own proclivities to build, I decided to buy an f5.

I have since sold some of my parts from the water-cooled but am working on a custom creation of my own. The main reason that I tore my other one apart was because the Tsunami case was getting on my nerves, and wanted to jettison an external water-cooling solution.

So in late December, I ordered - here's how things went.......

Ordering I ordered directly from Rahul, EL P as he is commonly know, or more formally, CTO and President of Voodoo via e-mail. We bounced back e-mails on different configurations. He was wondering why I only ordered a single HD since he knows I like bleeding edge technology. I informed him that I had 3 Raptors that were orphans, and he had no problems with me not ordering from them or putting them in the system myself. He did not try to dissuade me from using my own parts - “you must order our components. We only back the things we install. You should really trust us to install these.” Etc. I heard none of these things which you can expect from many others. The only addition that I made was 1GB of RAM.

Note: For buyers out there, you may want to go with 2 GB since you will get 1GB sticks versus 512MB (X 2) in a 1GB configuration. With the latter you can only populate up to 2GB then. With a 2GB config off the bat, you with have headroom for up to 4GB. Something to ponder if you are considering an f5.

Ordering was smooth and in a matter of an hour or so, Rahul sent me my “Design Document” which disclosed system configuration and the ramifications or impact of your components choices.

Updates Since I am a return customer I told them, specifically Driftwood (Customer Care Extraordinaire) that I would not really need constant updating, though I harassed him on a regular basis with phone calls and e-mails.

Wait The wait time was 56 days, but this was due to the fact that I ordered a month before f5 systems actually started shipping.

packaging Everything was neatly and securely packaged. My system arrived in pristine and perfect condition.

Binder The Voodoo Koeskin binder, for those for those of you that do not know, is jam packed with system info, disks, and other goodies to include the extra cables, a Voodoo mousepad, and T-Shirt.

Overall Impression I am in awe. The system is amazing. The perforated chassis, to the mirror internal finish, and to the speed of the system of is incredible.

Now as the owner of a Rage that has the Mesa Chassis, I can make comparison. The first thing to note is that they defy comparison. The Mesa chassis is rugged, ominous, and powerful with its 7mm extruded aluminum door to its red silk anodized interior and black anodized aluminum exterior. This is my favorite chassis.

The f5 is more about pragmatism, innovation, cleanliness, and refinement. They are really hard to compare as it has its own merits and redeeming qualities. It really comes down to what you really like. Both offer superlative space, durability, thermal dissipation properties, and class. The case is akin to a Ferrari. Refined and brash, but not too gaudy.

One would be hard pressed on deciding which to get.

The simplicity of the f5 MAGA chassis is intriguing. It has no front doors and the panels are a cinch to remove lending itself to easy access of the inside. This makes it easy to troubleshoot, clean, or upgrade.

The inverted ATX layout helps in thermal dissipation and augments the efficient but quiet Swiftech based cooling components. Additionally the front, rear, and bottom perforations aid in air flow. It is even more surprising that this PC is quieter than the Rage SLi since there are so many more possibilities for sound to escape.

The 120mm SilenX fans which maybe reach 14 dBA still push about 24 CFM. They are more than able to cool the interior and be the main cog in cooling of the liquid.

The f5 has handled everything I have throw at it and has shown exceptionally stability. The Windows load time is seconds. It boots up faster than any other PC that I have worked with.

This machine is a joy to work with, play on, and truly a sight to behold.

I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Highly recommended and a machine that can truly be called a DREAM MACHINE.

The only gripes that I have are that there were a couple of minor blemishes on the motherboard tray, and the panels that were not anodized black or mirrored could have used some finishing. Additionally, different component manufacturer options would be nice: Crucial Ballisitx I like, but I am partial to Corsair XMS. Ballistix Tracer should also be an available option.

To quote a renowned internet personality, my f5 is “purring like a kitten.”

"Ordered March 24th
Recieved May 12.
About an hour after placing my online order I recieve a call from one of the staff. Just to comfirm my order and make sure I had no questions reguarding the system. Very friendly and very professional. The Voodoo website has a page where you can request a build status on your machine. When I checked(twice)I got a response right away from the staff telling me exactly what was happening and if there were going to be any delays. Two days ago I recieved an email telling me my system had shipped and got a UPS tracking number so I could check on its arrival. It was Delivered to the door as promised. The laptop is beautiful. Not a flaw on it. It started up just like it was suppose to and so far I can see not problems with it. I am very satisfied with Voodoo PC and would not hesitate for a second to order another system from them again. I got What I ordered and it was delivered promptly and profesionally. "

"I purchased a Hexx system (FX-60, 7900GTX 512MB, 2GB Corsair 3500LL Pro, X-Fi Extreme Music, 160GB HDD, BAM finish) and I have been very impressed with its performance and low noise levels. Multiple applications running at once pose no problem to this machine and gaming has been nothing short of a supurb experience; I am currently playing Oblivion with very high settings for landscape etc...and this machine has performed flawlessly even with background applications running (AVG antivirus/firewall and Spyware Doctor). The 9CM fans (4 total) keep this rig running cool and the PSU fan adds to the overall cooling efficiency also. Even with the 6 total fans, this machine runs very quiet. My entire purchasing experience with the VooDoo staff was great and they recieve my commendation for their efforts to keep me informed of the status of my build as well as the shipping and subsequent follow up they did when I recieved my rig. The packaging was top notch and the attention to detail/craftsmanship of VooDoo staff was apparent when I opened my rig up to take a look at the guts of the machine. I have owned other boutique systems in the past and VooDoo recieves my highest recommendation. "

"Ok I have no idea what you other people are talking about. I ordered my Voodoo Omen PC at November or December I am not sure I remember correctly. But I recieved it at mid-end Januaury. I love it, I have had just one issue with the sound card but thats about it, everything runs smoother then a babies bottom. Voodoo has been one of the best PC sellers I have ever surchased from. Everything came well packaged, nothing got damaged on the way, tech support was all there when I needed them. Overall, I think Voodoo is one of the best Gaming PC companies ever made because to them your more than just a customer, your a lifelong friend."

"I have experienced many companies’ customer service and tech support services. Although, Voodoopc is by far the best.
I would the mention Judith in customer service; Ryan and
David in the tech support crew are the very best in the business.
It was far easier to deal Judith (customer service) than going to administration. What an easy going and delightful person to deal with.
Ryan and David, I felt I could build a computer over the phone. They are the best in the business.
Thank You Voodoopc for having great people to keep your company strong.
