I placed an order for Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended on 04/27. I received a confirmation e-mail and tracking information the same day. I had the order in hand on 04/30.
Upon opening the package, I found that they had shipped to me Adobe Creative Suite 3.3. When I looked at the invoice, it stated that was what they shipped. The price listed was what I paid for Photoshop though. When I contacted them, I was told they were out of stock of Photoshop CS3 Extended so they shipped me Creative Suite 3.3.
The DVD case was not shrink-wrapped and contained no documentation that you would expect would be in the package as it was just the DVD case; it did not come in a retail box.
An e-mail to VioSoftware asking if the products they sell might be gray market was never answered. My client decided to hold onto the software before deciding what to do.
Upon contacting Adobe about the product, I was told that VioSoftware is known by them to sell gray market software. I was further advised that authorized resellers will have older versions purchased back from them when a new version of software comes out so there is no reason for an authorized reseller to sell an old version.
