"I just renewed my service contract with Verizon, and upgraded from a 'dumb' phone to a smart phone - a droid. The phone seems really nice. I'm sorry I can't say the same about Verizon technical support and service. I have had the phone for one month now, and for the 3rd time they have had to replace my SIM card due to their own ineptitude and gross incompetence. The latest fiasco involved them shutting my phone down because they 'accidently' changed my cell service to an iphone, which, of course, is incompatible with Droid. This is after 2 previous disasters involving simple things like backuip assistant, which they still can't get to work properly. I've spent hours on the phone with their technical support, only to have them tell me to drive to a store, because they can't figure out the problem.....ineptitudinus maximus. When will it all end? "
"Verizon Wireless has the worst customer service. You call sit on hold for the person to come on the phone and put you on hold longer. They can’t get a simple order right it has taken 10 days to fix one order, and they still can’t seem to get it right. I do not recommend "
"Do not believe the hype that you can change carriers and keep your old phone number. I needed to switch from AT&T in order to have coverage in the small Alaskan town of McCarthy. Verizon does have coverage, but could not let me keep my old 907 area code number. "
"I am an 81 year old writer, website builder and otherwise retired. In those eighty one years I've never been so dissapointed in any company. I purchased their wireless home phone and highspeed internet. It started out giving problems but I felt they were corectable and kept trying to get them resolved until my 14 day trial was well past. But both the phone and then internet service kept giving problems I could not live with so I swithched back to AT&T. For four full months of the worst service imaginable, they took me for $892.95. I have also been spoken to so rudely, from a number of their people it is difficult to see how they remain in business."
"Went from excellent to worst in 5 years. I am not going to go into every detail, lets just say I have over 35 years in the IT industry, know and understand technology better than the average Joe. I will just say Verizon has changed so much for the worse that I am paying early termination on 4 lines and never looking back!"
"WORST PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER EVER! I just spent 1/2 hour with the phone on them. My 2 year contract ended in December and I called to cancel it to make sure they would not renew my contract since their prices are OUTRAGEOUS. I had 2 lines, one for me and one for my boyfriend. I suspended my boyfriend's line in June since I got him a new phone with a new service provider (since we knew that once December rolled around, we would be saying GOODBYE to verizon) and I just received a bill for over $300 saying I have not paid for my phone service in 3 months. They claimed that since the line was suspended, it was never actually cancelled. I told them when I called in December, it should have cancelled BOTH LINES and they soon after admitted it was their mistake. This was AFTER they had bounced me around to 3 different departments. Absolutely hands down the worst EVER. I will NEVER go back and I strongly urge everyone to STAY AWAY."
"I live in an area that doesn't have too many choices for wireless providers (if I want reception, that is). It's either Verizon, AT&T or some type of pay-as-you-go plan from Walmart. After having AT&T internet for less than a month and being ignored by customer service and then having my credit tarnished by them after I refused to pay for an item I never received, I knew there was no way I was going to go with AT&T.
As for Verizon, I've had some problems with them, but I've NEVER been ignored by customer service. Once a rep even called me on the phone after answering my email just to make sure I was satisfied. It's impossible for any company this size to get it right all the time, but at least they try. When it was leaked online that they were going to start charging customers a fee to pay their bills I was outraged, like many others, and I complained to customer service. They changed the policy in 2 days. It took Bank of America a month to come to their senses after they said they were going to charge customers a fee to access their own money. Even though I'm sure Verizon was flooded with emails, a rep still answered mine in a business day.
Overall, I'm happy with my Verizon phone service. It could be worse. And I'm not really sure it could be better."
"The problem with vzw is their customer base. Reading some of these post makes me sick. "Oh im a loyal customer who has gone over my minutes and am belaming you verizon for not warning me. Im so loyal that i am going to write a negative review and tell the world how bad you are because you only offered to give me $20 back that I owe to YOU for going over MY minutes. My point is you do it you own it. Oh and get the silver spoon of entitlement out of your butt and understand that verizon is not a charity its a business that employees thousands of people. You want better employee's? Stop calling in trying to take out your lifes rage on the rep that WANTS to help you. Keep in mjnd that WANT will quickly change to not want if your gonna talk to them like a slave master. That way vzw doesnt have to hire below par reps that are WILLING to put up with your delusional butts. That being said I will say vzw does need improvement but its still one of the best companies absolutely the best for US coverage. You get what you pay for. Just expect to be charged if you exceed YOUR chosen plan ,do your research on products and dont expect a free phone to be a good phone unless you indeed do have a silver spoon up your butt while riding on a unicorn."
"I wish I could say that all of the negative reviews (1 star out of 5) were a lie...but they are not. Every issue that all the other have mentioned, I have experienced as well. Their representatives are IGNORANT in every sense of the word, meaning that they are downright rude in the stores and clueless on the phones. All of their Customer Reps need to take courses and learn to speak English and a course in friendly and accurate service could only help these idiots. It is truly awful when I have to sit through yet another phone reset or "troubleshooting" session. They say it will take 8 minutes but it ends up taking 45 b/c the operator sits there and has no idea how to complete the process once they start it. All I know is that if I EVER acted like these people while at my job...I wouldn't have a job. I hate Verizon and everything about them from their stupid, cheezy commercials to their cheap, shoddy phones. RUN, Don't Walk - away!"
"If you have Verizon Wireless I would advise you to NEVER renew a contract with them, or get service with them to begin with. They overcharge for their plans, and nickle and dime you to death for everything. But worse is they will lie to you and cheat you if they can. They recently changed my plan without my permission which is costing me $10 more a month than I should be paying. I have spoken to numerous people there who said they would fix the problem. Today I was told that my request to go back to my original plan at the original fee was "declined." This has been going on for months and now after THEY made the mistake and after THEY promised to fix it, THEY have the audacity to say they decline to make good on their promises. It may not be a lot of money, but I will sue them if I have to. They are messing with the WRONG WOMAN!!!! I would give them a negative number rating if I could"
