"I placed an order for a Panasonic HVX200 camera on Friday. Monday I got the e-mail telling me I had to call. I called and spoke to Thomas who told me that the camera I ordered was the Chinese version with Chinese menus, etc. and that it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery. He said that it didn't come with a battery, cables, or LCD screen. I told him the LCD was part of the body of the camera and he said, "Not for the Chinese version." He told me the best deal was to pay them $2900 for the "US version" which came with all the accessories and the LCD screen. Thomas was not rude and he did not yell, but it was obvious from the conversation that I wasn't going to get an HVX200 for the really low price listed on their website. You will only waste your time if you think that deal that's too good to be true has any chance of being real, at least from USAPhotoNation."

"Avoid USA Photo Nation. It is a bait and switch operation. When the customer refuses to switch they cancel the order.

I Ordered a Canon XT camera with the usual lens. The order was confirmed by email and scheduled for a five day delivery. Then an email message arrived asking that I call about the order which I did.

The agent, who refused to give me his name, but did offer me a job selling cameras, stated that the camera was hard wired with instructions in Chinese and could not be altered, that it would take 6-8 weeks to deliver, even though I ordered expedited delivery in the original order, and that unless I accepted these additional conditions the order would be cancelled. Needless to say, I cancelled.

Don't waste your time with this bait and switch shop. Or if you do and after they jerk you around, contact the Federal Trade Commission and report what seems to be fraud. Somebody has to shut down this sort of attempted rip off.

"The Minolta Dimage camera I ordered was listed on their web page at 299.00 - I ordered a filter adapter and 3 piece filter set and the total cost of the camera came to 553.98 - A very misleading advertisement, and the web site shows no address. To track your order, you have log in or register, which can't be done since you need a password to log in, And the website offers no way to register. I will never do buisness with this company again. and would reccomend that no one else use them either."

"THIS OUTFIT IS RUN BY LIARS, FRAUDS AND SCAM ARTISTS. Stay away!!! USAPhotoNation is a fresh name but they are the same frauds and con artists who run the old outfit RadioActiveDeals. We ordered a Canon Rebel on 7/7/04. Today (9/1/04) I called to find out why we hadn't received the camera or any communication. Was told by MIKE that it wasn't available and that I would have to order the USA version. Said the version we ordered didn't come with a battery or warranty, although I assure you we phoned and asked and were told that it did. The "USA version" would cost us $300 extra, I was told. I said that I wanted to cancel the order and Mike said that I couldn't. Incredulous, I said again that I wanted to cancel the order and again he said that I could not. He then said, "Don't screw with someone who has your husband's credit card information," which I took to be a threat. Stunned, I said, are you in business just to defraud people? AND HE SAID YES. I have contacted the Federal Trade Commission (877-382-4357), the New York Attorney General and the New York District Attorney and won't let up until every search engine turns up a warning on USAPhotoNation and RadioActiveDeals."

"I cancelled my order 1/2 hour after the phone call with the company. Among trying to sell me all sorts of crap he also stated the warenty was only 90 days. He said the vbasic camera price (Nikon Collpix8800) included only the camera itself - and not even a manual. Warrenty was $299,- On after thought I got suspecious and call Nikon: (1) They do not package the camera without the bare starp/battery etc. 90 days warrenty only if it is a USED camere. New are 1 year parts & labour. Also more reputable companies offer warrenty at half the $299 USphotonation said.
So all together they lied through their teeth -DON'T BUY FROM THEM!
I am glad Nikon gave me this website to check ratings!
UPdate 04/13: Guess what despite emailing cancellation to the company 30 minuttes after placing the order - they still shipped and charge me! They wrote and said I had to call the sales person to cancel! This is NOT true. Legally a vendor must respect a timely written cancellation. So I have disputed charges and copied our company lawyer!
04/25: Read copy of my email to usaphotonation.com it will help you get your money back when you cancel an order:We have received your package back as "refused" by you. We do not know why
>it was refused no action will be made until you contact our customer
>service department.

>718-526-8080 option 3

The item was refused because the order was cancelled in writing immediately after placing it.

I was also contact my phone on the same question by your rep 'Sam'. He tried to offer me less credit that the full amount. I informed him this was
unacceptable and I would dispute.

(1) See copy of my cancellation submitted April 07 11.34 pst - copied below.
(2) You did receive my cancellation - I have a copy of your email from April 07 16.42 pm
(3) As per your own written internet policies an order is not processed until the credit card is charged.
(4) Immediately after having emailed you my written cancellation, I did, as a precaution call my credit card company. I asked if anybody had charged
the $989.89 to my card. The order was not charged yet. I asked if my credit card company could refuse a charge from you if you tried to charge. They said no, but that I could dispute the charge later. This means that even if I choose to accept policies I was never made aware of - (being this was a verbal order)- not an online-order. Then I still complied and I cancelled my order before you had completed processing.

(5) As per the Federal Trade commission and the "Mail and telephone merchandise order rule" Consumers have the right to a full refund when an order is cancelled before shipping. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-internet.htm Further a written cancellation such as the one I sent you must be honored. Onne is not required to also make a verbal cancellation.

Legally (as per item 5) and In accordance with your own policies you must therefore credit the full amount of $989.89 to my credit card.

I am sending copied of all correspondence along with the written dispute to my credit card company. I have also today filed a formal complaint with The Federal trade commission (877) 382 4357

Any further communication on this matter from USAPHOTONATION must be in writing. I will not accept any call from you.

You have until latest May 01 to credit back the full amount to my credit card. After that I will submit all correspondence and file an 'internetcomplaint' with Attorney General Eliot Spritzer, State of New York, 120 Broadway, New York.
I am informed that his office is already aware of your company and have helped clients retrieve their money from you.

Sincerely
V.Kjoelhede

thank you"

"I tried to purchase the Panasonic VDR-M53 online from USA Photo Nation.
I received a phone call 2 days after I placed the order. I figured this is unusual since I paid extra to have it shipped faster. They were asking me if I would like to add to my purchase. Such as, a battery or a power cord, since this "factory sealed, brand new" camera did not come with either. That option package was about $100 extra.
First, how many factory packaged camera DO NOT come with a battery?
The prices are great, but it is obviously because you only recieve half of what you purchase.
I will steer clear of this seller in the future, it is the next best thing to a scam from what I see."

"Ditto... I ordered an Olympus E-300 digital camera from this site. Later in the evening after placing the order I came across resellerratings.com and was therefore familiar with their scam. Sure enough, two days later I received an email asking me to call Jason. Jason tried to sell me an extremely expensive warranty, after refusing, he tried to tell me that the camera didn't come with the battery or the charger (both do according to Olympus, but what do they know). At this point in the conversation, I told him that I knew all about their scam and told him to cancel my order. He did so immediately without asking even a single question. He didn't even try to refute my statement."

"Tried to buy a digital camera from these people. Had the EXACT same experience as everyone else. The order didn't ship out for weeks as they "attempted to contact me", which meant e-mailing me about once a week in between my attempts to call them (line either busy or office is closed), e-mail (with no response), or leave voicemails (also with no response). When I finally did get ahold of them, they tried to sell me batteries, charger, and memory, which they claimed did not come with the phone. Then they told me that the camera was on backorder and there would be an even longer delay before it was shipped out. At that point I asked to just cancel the order. They promptly hung up on me.
Only after coming here to write a review on this company did I realize that other people were having these problems, too...should have read the reviews. "

"I recently purchased a video camera from usaphotonation.com. The next day I received an email from them stating they needed to verify my order to please call. When I called the gentlemen I spoke with attempted to sell me additional items like filters for the camera, when I said no he told me I must not understand what they are and that was the reason I didn't want them. Then I asked what accessories came with the camera as the website made no mention of a lack of accessories. He wouldn't answer my question and proceed to ask me which battery I wanted. This is when I asked him if he was running a scam. He never would reply. He continued, very persistently, to ask which battery I wanted. I then told him that if he couldn't answer my question directly I wanted to cancel my order. He responded by saying his company was big enough that he didn't need my order and he would be glad to cancel it. When I asked to speak with his manager he hung up on me. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE FOLKS. "DO NOT USE THIS SELLER
I wish I would've found this website before I placed my order.
After placing my camera order on line, I got a phone call from Bill to sell me accessories that according to him, didn't come with my camera. His hard sell tactics made me uncomfortable, so I told him I wanted to cancel my whole order. He tried every sales tactic in the book to convince me I would be getting a deal. I kept my calm, but told him, yet again, that I wanted to cancel. He said I could, but there would be a %7 processing fee for "taking 30 minutes of his time on the phone" (he called me) & for "annoying him". To make things worse, he quoted me %7 of an order that included upgrades I didn't even agree to!!! I called my credit card company & they told me not to worry about at thing.
I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS SELLER!!!"
