"I ordered an out of production CoolPix 8800 digital camera over the phone rather than online because I wanted to be sure I was getting a new factory fresh USA camera with everything that normally comes with the new camera. I wanted to be sure it was not refurbished or grey market. I asked all the appropriate questions to be sure I would be getting what I wanted. I was assured I would. The camera arrived 3/7/06 without a USA warranty enclosed. The camera did not come in the normal sealed box.

I called then and explained I had not gotten what I ordered. I was told to ship it back and they would pay the cost of me shipping it. I shipped it on 3/8/06.

On 3/14/06 I called to see if it had arrived. I was on hold for 30 minutes. I kept getting sales and they kept transferring me but I would end up back with sales again. I was told as of yesterday the camera had not arrived. He said I could call back tomorrow but that they should call me when they receive it.

It is easy to get someone in sales but a different matter to reach someone in customer service.

One hour later my returned receipt arrived back from them in the mail, signed on 3/10/06. I called again and was told they had received it after all, that the warehouse failed to make the update in the computer. He told me I would get the credit for the camera and my shipping costs by tomorrow morning, 3/15/06.

I called and asked for the store manager on 3/20/06. I was told they were not a store. I was asked what department I wanted. I said I wanted the person in charge. He said of what department. I said I realized there might be various departments but there had to be someone that was in charge of all of them. He suggested I call back later.

I called back and after being on hold for 1 hour I reached some who told me I was issued a credit on 3/17/06 but for an amount which did not include what it cost me to ship it back.

I called again on 3/21/06 after discovering no credit had been issued to my account as I had been told on 3/20/06. They again listened to my story and put me on hold. He came back I was told again the credit was issued 3/17/06 but may take up to 48 business hours to post. He said I would be credited the shipping costs the next Friday, 3/24/06.

As of 3/24/06 no credit had been issued for the camera or for shipping. I called again and was told he had to check with billing. He came back to the phone and said he was the manager. He said I had not been credited yet but not to worry I would be credited today or tomorrow, Saturday, 3/25/06. He said it takes time to issue a credit. I told him I had been told three times (by Anthony on 3/14/06 I would get it 3/15/06, by Bruce on 3/20/06 that it was issued on 3/17/06, by Anthony on 3/21/06 that it was issued 3/17/06 but would take 48 business hours to post) that I had already been credited. He said he had other calls and did not have time to deal with me.

As of 4/1/06 no credit has been issued to my account. Luckily I do have proof they received the camera and I put the charge into dispute with the credit card company.

It seems this was a scam from the beginning. Do business with this company at your own peril."

"These people are scam artists. They will not take my calls are very rude when they do take a call and keep sending all my other calls to a non-existent customer service department. There policy says they will charge your credit card only a few hours before your order ships they charged my card on 7-27-2006 and as of today 8-7-2006 their own website says the order has not shipped and is still in processing.

They also tried to pull the same upsell scam as the other commentors on here.

I have called my credit card and put in a dispute for this charge I have also put in a complaint with the better business bureau this company under it's many different names (they charged my card under a totally different name) is a total scam."

"Yesterday, I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 350 from "Trusted Dealer" at what PriceScan indicated to be the lowset price available. Big mistake. Today I received a call from my wife at work informing me that I had an "urgent call" from the company that I bought my Nuvi 350 from. Something about a problem with my credit card. I took this information at face value and called "Jim". Indeed I was told by Jim that there was a "problem" with my credit card - allegedly something about the wrong year given on the order form. Again, being distracted from what I was doing at work, I again took this at face value and pulled out my credit card and read off the correct year and CCV #. Immediately satisfied with this information, "Jim" abruptly changes the subject and starts in on a very convincing sales pitch for an extended warranty that I really need to purchase, seeing as the Garmin warranty is only 90 days labor and 1 year parts. I must give the man credit - I am not usually hood-winked into seeing the logic of extended warranties, but he did convince me to take advantage of your "special offer" for this 4 year extended warranty, now "discounted from 149 to 120 dollars". I agreed to let him add it to my purchase. When I hung up, I began to think a bit more clearly and looked up "GPS warranties" on Google. I really should not have been surprised to find that GPS extended warranties from companies like Mack are available for $39.95.
When I got home around 5:00 PM, I called "Jim" back to ask him to remove the warranty from my purchase. As I expected, the pleasant man I talked to earlier in the day was now not so pleasant anymore, and he proceeded to tell me all about how Mack warranties are inferior to what they offer; that they have deductibles where theirs does not, and that I must purchase ANY warranty from the place I buy the equipment. Below is information taken directly from http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=MKGPSGR500 regarding the Mack three year extended warranty:
"This warranty covers all parts and labor for three (3) years after the manufacturer's warranty expires. The GPS unit or PDA will be guaranteed to operate properly according to manufacturer's specifications and Mack will repair or replace the equipment no charge to you (includes all parts and labor). This warranty covers a one-time screen replacement..."

Quite obviously, "Jim" lied to me about the warranty. I understand perfectly well what they're doing - low-balling the price so services like PriceScan will pop them to the top of their list, then they make it up by selling warranties at 3 times their market value. I cannot and will not tolerate calling my home under false pretenses of there being a problem with my credit card (which there quite obviously wasn't) to get me to buy a warranty at 4 times the going price. This is the old "bait and switch" strategy with a new and disturbing evil twist. Do NOT do business with these people. Your credit card company WILL NOT help you if crooks like these have already obtained your information.

"UUUGGGGHHH!!! Do I ever feel like the biggest. I've ordered many items on line before, frequented Ebay, etc but never have I had an experience like this. Reading all these reviews shows the true nature of what Trusted Dealer is, or better, what it is not. My order was place on Sunday, Sept 30th for a Zumo 550 GPS. Advertized as in stock and will ship in 1-2 days. I received an Email on Tuesday Oct 2. They needed me to call their 800 325 0304 Ext 225 or 228 to verify my shipping address. Being slightly suspious by the way they answered the phone, I asked them to read verify what I had sent. They had my shipping address correct. It was then that they went into the "sales spill" of accessories and extended warranties. After a polite no, I was told that the Zumo would ship that day. I'm in Texas so I waited till Friday, the 5th to check shipment status. No answer at the office because they were closed for an upcoming holiday (Comlubus Day was Monday). Monday they said there was a delay from the previous week and that the product was shipping today (8th) and it takes 24-48 hours to post the tracking number. Thursday I call for the tracking number since it wasnt posted on the website. They were sorry but the itme had not gone out and was shipping today, next day air, their expense, so I would have it Friday (today). Hardy har har, No package when I get home and I find this wonderful website. I have contacted Citicard. Trusted Dealer was paid on
the 9th by Citi. Filed fraud claim with Citi. This dosent happen very often but Citi has always gone the distance for me if you folks ever have a need for help. Have to go wash the big S off my forehead. Trusted Dealer gives internet companies a bad name."

"I ordered a Kodak camera, Extra battery and a deluxe carry bag. When I received my order, the carry bag was too small for my camera and was for a mini digital cam corder and the battery charger for my camera was missing. I called and was told they would send the battery charger and the right carry bag to me. Finally after about three weeks later I still had not received charger or the bag. They kept telling me they would send them. Finally I talked to Johnson, he said they had not sent it because I had not returned the small bag. I explained that I had been told to return the small bag in the box the deluxe bag was sent in when I received it. He gave me a Return number RA# and I returned the small bag. I kept calling for a tracking number for the bag and after three months later I had three wrong tracking numbers and still no charger or bag. I have been calling week after week to get a tracking number for my bag and 4/26/06 I called and talked to Michael R. McNealson he ask for my credit card number and my Social Security Number which I did not give him. I ask why he needed this information and John or Anthony I think was his name got on the phone and used a lot of bad language and a lot of vulgar language, so I decided to contact the Better business Bureau and my Visa Dept. I have been very patient over the past almost five months, but enough is enough. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. You should go on to Bizrate.com, Pricegrabber.com, Pricerunner.com, Pricescan.com, Buyerzone.com, and read all the BAD REVIEWS!!!!!!!! Also type go Trusted Dealer in your address bar and you will find many more BAD REVIEWS!!!!
Just a reminder! Trusted Dealer also know as Red Tag Savings is BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!
More information I found - Digital Delivered, Inc., d.b.a. DigitalDelivered.com, RedTagSavings.com, and TrustedDealer.com 771-773 Coney Island Avenue, Kensington TrustedDealer.com and RedTagSavings.com use 771, and DigitalDelivered.com uses 773. Open on Sunday. On TrustedDealer's contact page now lists 673 Coney Island Ave, which appears elsewhere here many times. The RedTagSavings site claims they are RedTag Savings Inc. No such name found for NY, but Red Tag Inc. registered to a CPA on Bedford Avenue appears to be them. You can also see a picture of their store front, it’s a joke!

"RUDE LIERS WOULD NEVER BUY FROM AGAIN. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY AND BUY FROM A LOCAL DEALER. ORDERED A TOMTOM GO 910 WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE SHIPPED SAME DAY, 5 DAYS LATER I GET AN EMAIL THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY CREDIT CARD AND I NEEDED TO CALL THEM TO STAIGHTEN THIS UP BEFORE THEY COULD SHIP. CALLED AND MARK ZITO SAID "JUST CHECKING EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH MY CREDIT CARD" BUT DID I KNOW I WOULD NEED SOME EXTRAS FOR MY NEW GPS, ANTENNA, SCREEN SAVER, CARRY CASE AND A SERVICE PLAN FOR THE GPS AS THE FACTORY WARRANTY DID NOT COVER ANYTHING AND THERE WERE A NUMBER OF NEW ONES FROM THE FACTORY THAT WERE BAD OUT OF THE BOX. THEY HAD A "SPECIAL" IF I BOUGHT THE ANTENNA AT THE REGULAR PRICE THEY WOULD THROW IN A SERVICE CONTACT,SCREEN SAVER AND CARRING CASE. AFTER BEING PRESSURED AND NEEDING THIS GPS FOR A BUSINESS TRIP 10 DAYS LATER I AGREED BECAUSE HE SAID HE WOULD SHIP THE SAME DAY AND I WOULD HAVE IT BY THAT WEEKEND, WELL I GOT IT FOR THE NEXT WEEKEND A DAY BEFORE MY TRIP. ANTENNA DID NOT FIT THE TOMTOM GO 910 BUT THE GPS WORKED FINE WITH OUT A ADD ON ANTENNA. CALLED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES (9/11/07, 9/21/07, 10/23/07 AND EACH TIME WAS TOLD THAT IT SHIPPED OUT...NEVER RECEIVED IT.THEN WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE INCORRECT ANTENNA. I HAVE PROOF FROM UPS THAT IT WAS RETURNED AND SIGNED FOR BY A J RAMOS. SO ON 12/01/07 AFTER MANY CALLS, MOST OF THE TIME WAITING FOR 20-45 MINUTES ON HOLD, HAVING THE WOMAN HANGUP ON ME WHEN I TOLD HER SHE SAID IT SHIPPED THE 4 DIFFERENT TIMES WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT THIS TIME. I CALLED MY BANK AND GOT A CHARGE BACK FOR MY $119 ANTENNA. WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE CHARGEBACK TRUSTED DEALER TELEPHONED AND CALLED MY WIFE A LIER, SHE WAS RUDE TO EVEN ASK FOR A ANTENNA (THAT I PAID FOR) AND HE SAID THE ANTENNA ONLY COST $30 (BUT THEY SHOW IT ON THERE WEBSITE AT $119). I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ANTENNA AS I THINK THAT WAS ANOTHER LIE FROM TRUSTED DEALER. IF TRUSTED DEALER WANTS TO ISSUED A CALL TAG FOR UPS I WILL RETURN THEIR "GOTTA HAVE" STUFF AS I ALREADY PAID THE UPS CHARGES BACK TO THEM FOR THE ANTENNA."

"I expect that their offices have bars on the windows; cause behind bars is where they should all be. Have NEVER been treated so dishonestly in my entire life. HIGH PRESSURE is an understatement. When I said "no" to their demand that I purchase additional warranty, they shipped the product and the invoice they enclosed billed me for the warranty I did not want, and..they activated the warranty before I even received the GPS so they could refuse to refund me the cost saying "the extended warranty has already been activated". It took me several months of dispute time thru American Express..........but I prevailed!!! Trusted Dealer had to eat the cost of the extended warranty....and I hope they choke on it. A hateful bunch; from top to bottom. I even contacted their parent company "Digital Delivered"...........more bad apples there too. Anyhow...I did get my $$$ back; but hope this info will cause everyone to take heed. "

"HORRIBLE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!

I attempted to purchase the kodak easysharev550 from this website because it was one of the lowest prices I had found on the internet and the store had a good rating on other websites (which were obviously fake.) Similar to other people, I receieved a call about credit card problems, and during this call was talked into purchasing a memory card. I was promised the order would be shipped out promptly. The man on the phone was very friendly. I was under a time crunch, and had paid for 2 day express shipping, and kept check for a tracking number. After 3 days, the order still had not been shipped out, so I contacted customer service. They assured me that the order had been shipped. When I asked for a tracking number, he said it would be emailed to me. Not as friendly this time.

The order never came, and my credit card had not yet been billed, which lead me to believe the order had not been shipped. I then checked their website and noticed that the price of my camera had jumped from $235 to $299 since placing my order. Reading other horror stories on this website lead me to believe I would be charged the higher price. The website said sales was open Sundays, and I called and the man was very rude on the phone. I asked him the price of the camera, he responded "I don't know". He then justified this by saying he works in the tech department, and that sales is closed on Sundays. I told him the website says sales is open. He said "yea, the website lied" and hung up.

After a few more attempts of me calling and him blatantly hanging up or putting me on hold, he answers and says "My god you have got to be the whinest b*tch I have ever dealt with". This is when things started to get ugly. I informed him that I would not be treated like that and would like to cancle my order. Instead of dealing with my complaints, he decided to insult me. He asked if I was retarded, asked if I was married because my husband must be strangling himself, told me I was probably an ugly fat piece of shit who hadn't gotten laid in years, and that I clearly hadn't spoken to a man in a long time. He also informed me "YES, WE LIED ON OUR WEBSITE. YES YOUR CAMERA WAS A RIP OFF PIECE OF SHIT AND WASTE OF YOUR MONEY AND TIME. YOU'RE A DUMBASS". When I informed him I would be reporting him to the BBB, this did not seem to threaten him, as clearly this is something they deal with on a daily basis. He also continued to demand to know my last name while screaming profanities and insulting me.

I will be attempting to cancel my order tomorrow morning. If not I have already contacted my bank and have been assured they will not be getting a penny of my money. Do not under any circumstances do business with this dealer. The unbelievably rude man on the phone flat out admitted me to me that they are a scam and do business simply by scamming their customers."

"BUYER BEWARE - NOT a trusted dealer!!
They confirmed an order for a Garmin Nuvi 5000 then they said they couldn't ship it because they were out of stock. I went to their site and they had it available but at a much higher price. They obviously have it in stock but perhaps posted a wrong price - be very careful - this was suppose to be a birthday gift and now I am stuck looking again. When you call customer service or sales they take a super long time to answer the phone and when they finally did come to the phone I explained what I saw and have for information - and they hung up on me...I was being very polite and spoke to them for less than 60 seconds. Obviously they do not care. Check all the ratings - this place should go out of business with their lack of service."
