"From far the worst e-store I know. Totally dishonest, liars, their customer service reply to about one email on… a lot etc… The first thing to know is that a refund from the States to a foreign country like mine through credit card actually takes 2-3 days max (I already received refunds from other e-store in similar location, and that never took longer, so it’s obvious that toysnjoys company intentionally slowdown the process !).

Basically, I ordered two items from them. Immediately after that, I saw that the description of one was wrong so I sent an email to the customer service (it was only a few minutes after my order) to know if they can cancel the item and corresponding shipping. Soon, a woman named Gwen replied and asked me why. I explained to her and she agreed and told me that they will only send the item I want and send a refund (quite a high amount) for the other. After that no more news during a week. The next Friday, I received an email that confirmed my order….. for BOTH items. I immediately sent another email to the customer service who never replied. I contacted the return service (the famous “Art Molina” who some of you talked with). He apologized, sent a correct invoice and confirmed that I would get a refund soon (it was in September). A bit later, I received the item (only one)… but no refund. I contacted the customer service who simply confirmed it and told me that I should get it under 7-10 days, 1 month maximum. So I waited patiently. Since after one month I still haven’t received anything, I tried to contact the customer service to have some details, but of course, they never replied. I contacted again Art Molina, but the only thing he said was that he would check that… after that nothing more, no more replies to my messages etc…I finally called their Honolulu shop. The person I talked with admitted that the refund still haven’t been processed but would make sure it would be posted during next week so I’ll receive it promptly and confirm it in an email. Since he didn’t, I contacted one more time the customer service, and they confirmed that my refund has been posted (here, we are about 2 months after the first refund “promise”).

Since on the 26th of November, I was still waiting for their refund, I finally decided to fill a complaint with B.B.B. (Better Business Bureau). I sent a last email to toysnjoys where I informed them of my decision. Whereas I usually have to wait for some days (when they reply..), I got an answer during the same day from Alex Le ! The person apologized, said he don’t know why I still haven’t received the refund. He told me that his billing service is closed the week end but if I have paypal I give my address to him and he refund me the same day. Since I've not been able to reply the same day, he finally did the refund trough credit card, and 3 days later, I had my money back ! If I didn’t read the other reviews, I’d think they really forgot my refund or something like that… but I really think the B.B.B. have a strong reputation and really can put the pressure on them and that if I didn’t do that, I would still be waiting for my refund.

I don’t know how their physical store is… but for sure, their website is not recommendable. To anyone who have problems like that with them, I really recommend to deposit a complaint at B.B.B. here :

then follow the instructions, describe your problem, desired solution etc… and inform toysnjoys of that. For the overseas buyers, don’t worry, B.B.B. can handle all requests, even from foreign countries (I’m from France). That doesn’t cost anything… and really can help a lot and speed up things

Considering the others reviews, I would only say in conclusion:

If you want a store that:

-lies about items in stock or not
-charge your card even if item is not in stock
-practically never reply to emails
-don’t know anything about consumer respect
-are “not really” quick for shipping your order
-have some huge difficulties to post a refund
Etc…

Then go to toysnjoys… otherwise avoid them!

"Man, I feel really stupid for not reading reviews for this store before buying something. I guess it was one of my first purchases online, so maybe I have an excuse?

Anyways, like practically all the reviews say, this store only exists to collect money without giving...well, anything in my case. Here's my history: I ordered a totoro wall scroll from Toys N Joys on September 19th (remember this date!). I get an email stating they received my order, all is good. On October 5th, I send an email to them, asking if the item has been shipped yet. They ask for my order number the same day (so far so good), and I provide it for them same day....then hear nothing back. On October 17th I ask them again about my order, and a WEEK later (Oct 23rd), they tell me "I will check and let you know." Uh. Okay.

On November 5th I ask him (this Alex guy everyone's talking about) AGAIN about the status. They tell me the item is coming in tomorrow, and if they can ship it then. So to summarize, they haven't even shipped my item and didn't tell me. At this time I already received another item I bought on the same day from another vendor. Anyways, I tell him "if it can be shipped immediately, then yes. Otherwise, I'd like a refund." He tells me "ok sir." That's it.

On November 25th...I don't know why I waited so long...I finally contacted him and told Alex that I want a refund because the item obviously has not been shipped yet. He asks if I want to "replace with another style" and I say, obviously, uh, no. I just want my money back. He replies "ok will do sir.." That's it, again.

Now (Nov 26th) I'm waiting to be reimbursed. I realize it's a holiday, so I'll wait till Monday (Nov 30th) to see if I got any money back. If not, more emails? I'm not sure what to do anymore, this guy just keeps on ignoring me and ripping me off. I got so fed up, which is why today I went online to find where I can post a crappy rating for this store, and found this place. If I get my money back, I'll edit this post to finish the story. Until then, it's been 10 weeks since my order and I haven't gotten my item, money back, or anything. I might have well ordered my item today instead of Sept 19th.

::EDIT:: December 10th. I've been emailing them non-stop for the past few weeks. No response whatsoever. I'll start looking around to see what legal actions I can take.

::EDIT:: March 15th. Just received the wall scroll. Not sure if it's still a fail, or just not as big of a fail. Anyways, I was talking to a friend who ordered from them too, and he said he didn't have too much trouble. I guess it's a hit or miss--either it works out, or you get screwed over. It's like a lottery system, your call if you want to take the chance."

"Don't buy from them! They have over 130 cases filed against them with the Better Business Bureau. THEY DO NOT SHIP YOUR ORDER TO YOU. THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY EMAILS FROM YOU. Don't buy from them!"

"I usually find online retailers to be alright and I don't usually need to check nor leave feedback. This is an EXCEPTION. TOYS N JOYS is the WORST business I have ever done with in my life. I had ordered about 10 items, totalling about ~$150. I had received ONE t-shirt and everything else is on 'backorder'. THey charged me in full for all items, including ridiculous shipping for just one t-shirt and said the rest of the items should be available in 1-4 weeks. I wait 4 weeks and nothing. I e-mail them to cancel the rest of my order for a refund, and they reply saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I wait another 5 weeks, and nothing. So i send a second e-mail. Their reply was the EXACT same email saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I left them another email to which they probably will never respond. Never buy from this store guys!"

"Ok,
I decided to buy some more stuff from these folks and it looks like they are running well so far. I bought some random junk including a chromium figure (random, although to my disappointment I didn't get the one I wanted, but that's not TNJ's fault :P), a FFVII highwind model (by the way, it looks absolutely stunning), and a Rikku choker (which was backordered), to name a few. They were (except the choker) shipped to me in good time and I loved it. The highwind model was amazing. It was really worth the 80 dollars. So far, so good.

I also ordered from them once more, including: A light blue Nintendo DS, a little DS strap, a matching pouch, and a couple Metal Gear Solid soundtracks. They said that they are on the way to me right now, so I will anxiously await for this exciting order. If all goes well, I will plan to buy from them again by November or December.

Overall, they are doing really good for me. Communication is much better and Alex Le is so far, very nice guy. I will shop from these folks again. =D"

"NEVER di busuness with this company. I placed my order online on Dec 16, 2008. They processed and got their payment on Dec 18, 2008. Sent me an email stating my items had shipped on the 18th. AS of the 25th of Dec. no items came. I started calling them on the 26th of Dec. each time I called I was placed on hold for 30 to 45 mins. They gave me a tracking number for the USPS that come to find out did not exsist at all. Again, I called daily. I told them I wanted my money back or the items. I told them I was going to file a fraud charge on them with my credit card co, and they told me to go ahead and do it, they did not care. I sent them emails and to this day they have never answered any of them. PLEASE save yourself the headaches and shop else where. "

"I STRONGLY AGREE!!!! We had ordered 2 DVD players with 2 separate credit cards. One of these were for a birthday gift in 3 weeks. The order went through and then we waited 2 whole weeks and received NOTHING. We paid for 3-5 day priority mail shipping. We placed a call to them, now keep in mind we are calling long distance... the state of PA to Hawaii. They keep you on hold for over 25 minutes every time you call... until you get tired of waiting and hang up. Finally we got through and they told us our DVD were on back order.... BUT WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED. So we then were charged for the DVD players a few days later when they still were on back order. We called again and "Lena" told us that they were getting some more in stock and that would be in 3 days. So then we waited another week and I made yet another phone call. Lena told me she would have a manager call me back... HAHAHAHA that NEVER happened. I had to call yet again.... finally speaking to a "supposed" manager "Art". Well, he was very unsympathetic and very uncaring. He would offer no discount on anything. So he told he would upgrade the shipping to TWO day delivery, but ONLY for one of them. Well, whats funny is that the "supposedly upgraded" one came AFTER the standard shipping one... WHAT A DISCOUNT.Well, to top that off... when they finally arrived.... NEITHER OF THEM WERE THE CORRECT PRODUCT. We ordered 2 purple DVD players. The first package was a BLUE, not even the same style we ordered, DVD player which was $10.00 cheaper than what we ordered and paid. The second package was a PINK, not even the same style we ordered, DVD player which was $10.00 cheaper than what we ordered and paid.
So making the 6th phone call and after waiting on the phone another 20 minutes to get through to someone, they told us the process to return the items and supposedly get a refund. Again, LENA told us it would only be 2-3 days for our refund to be processed. We shipped them back THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME TIME. Both priority mail 2-3 day shipping!! But we got smart, we put tracking delivery confirmation on them. They were delivered to Them in Hawaii on March 31st 2009. I made YET ANOTHER phone call on April 7th. I was told they JUST received them by LENA. ( A HUGE LIE ) Postal confirmation confirmed their delivery of March 31st. Which I brought to her attention. Lena then said that it will take 2 days to go through to the return department. I stated it has been 7 days. She then said the return was processed on the 7th. I FINALLY received my money back on April 9th, 2009. However.... the 2nd DVD player we returned, at the same time and same day.... They NEVER refunded to this day. We waited on the phone for 25 minutes and had to call from another phone at the same time to get through. And again... spoke to LENA. Now that she was questioned about never receiving the other refund, she now said it takes 3-10 days for refunds. Bringing to her attention that the first one ( SHIPPED THE SAME TIME AND SAME WAY AND DELIVERED AT THE SAME TIME ) still wasn't refunded... she insisted that it takes 10 days. Why did the other one go through and received after 2 days but the second still after 6 days hasn't even been received???????
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY. BEWARE.... DO NOT ORDER FROM TOYS N JOYS EVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are the worst business in the world. They take your money, LIE, send the wrong product to make you think they sent your package to get you off their back, then take a month to refund HALF your money if that!!!

"I wish I had checked this site before ordering from these clowns. Read most of the negatives on here and I have the exact same experience. The customer service reps they have are all monkeys with the same generic response. 'We will email you shortly'. I ordered 6 figures, got 4. Supposedly the other 2 were backordered. When I called to inquire (day or delivery) they had just gotten a shipment. They told me I would get my order in a week, an email about it, yada yada. Low and behold 2 weeks later and nothing. I called back to find out what happened. The lady I spoke to this time claimed they had 'sold out before they could pull my back order'. Funny, she had no idea which 2 figures I didn't receive. By this logic, I will NEVER get my items because THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PART OF MY ORDER IS UNFULFILLED! They are liars and trained to parrot a list of generic responses to delay fullfilling their obligations. I've already initiated a paypal dispute. I no longer want my order AT ALL now. I can find all 6 figures easily from other hobby sites. I am further demanding they pay for return shipping. If paypal can't deal with them, I'm 100% sure AMEX can. Long story short, DO NOT BUY FROM TOYSNJOYS. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!"

"I have a complaint about a company operating on the internet called Toys N Joys based out of Honolulu. I ordered 2 different bags for my sons birthday. One arrived 10 days later and the other was put on backorder and then 3 weeks later the other arrived which was the same item as the first one recieved ie they sent 2 of the same things and not one of each different school bag. So i contacted them and they said to send it back priority mail and that they would send me the proper bag and pay for the postage it incurred. So i did that the very next day I paid $68 to send a bag that only costs $9.99. They said they received it 2 days later but that they dont usually pay FEDEX which was what my post office sends priority packages as. (in hindsight i should have just kept the bag and sold it on ebay but i really wanted the other bag which is so rare to find in stores).So this was September, it is now November and I am still owed $9.99 for the item and $68 for the postage. I keep emailing once a week and most of the time there is no reply I have recieved one reply which says the matter is with management and it is up to them and that sucks..I feel ripped off and cheated by these people. I just want my money back!!"

"I concur with the other commenters that you SHOULD NOT BUY from Toys-n-Joys.

Here's why:

1) Ordered my 13 year old son's Halloween costume on October 13, 2007 at 10:05am for his LAST Halloween as he's getting too big to trick-or-treat after this year

2) Hearing nothing on shipping status, I called AND emailed on October 22nd. Voicemail and autoresponder with Alex Le's phone number. I called his and he informed me verbally that, "It's shipped and you'll have it on Friday." (Which would have been October 26th).

3) Nothing arrives in Friday's mail so I call Saturday, get ahold of some guy at Toys-n-Joys and he tells me Alex Le will get back to me. He does not.

4) Call again on Monday, October 29th...now two days from Halloween and my son has been hammering on me for days about his costume. Alex Le tells me that "it's shipped from our supplier in California" and gives me a tracking number.

This tracking number indicates that it had NOT YET BEEN RECEIVED by the US Postal Service and ONLY THIS MORNING -- one day from Halloween -- does the USPS tracking web site show this: "Your item was processed and left our PASADENA, CA 91109 facility on October 29, 2007. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

There is no way that this will be here on Halloween. We went out last night and bought another costumer for my son.

Are the folks at Toys-n-Joys incredibly incompetent, lying, scam artists or small, cheesy businesspeople that have no money and can't get stuff shipped? Doesn't matter if you DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

Any of you that have been similarly scammed, I suggest you do what I'm doing right now: write the Hawaii State Attorney General and let's get these scammers shut down.
