posted Jul-04-2011![Share cvbnmme4th review](javascript:share_rating({"review_body":"I recently ordered a present for a friend from ThinkGeek for $20 which approximated in GBP should be around \u00a315 and ended up paying in excess of \u00a360 after they charged a ridiculous overseas shipping and conversion rate as well as charging VAT on the cost for shipping, most of which was not shown on the receipt and nor was it shown in the order summary when I went to pay. It is frankly atrocious that a seller would show such blatant disregard for customers in non-US countries which must make up a decent percentage of their market. I would not buy from this website again and would do as I have done in the past and found British-based companies to buy the product from instead. I have ordered multiple times and really have no complaints. I received a damaged item (clearly damaged by the shipper) and they did not hesitate to send me a replacement immediately. They even refunded excess duty charges due to the replacement order (as I live in Canada). No site is perfect and mistake can and will happen no matter where you shop, but these guys really are on top of their game and provide excellent customer service. We tried to order a hoodie and the transaction failed so we again tried to place the order again with another failed trasaction message. An hour later we check our bank account online and there are two pending transactions for $75 each. "I order stuff from Think Geek ALL the time and I've never had a single issue. All of my Christmas presents and stocking stuffers came from here and everyone loved them. The last thing I bought was a jellyfish lamp that changes colors, its so cool! If you have a Twitter account be sure to follow them b/c they're really funny and helpful, too!!!"
