"Nothing new to add, but thought I should also warn people. I ordered a table in mid-December. RJD charged my credit card right away and said the item was in stock. I have never received the item and all attempts to cancel the order have been unsuccessful. RJD does not answer their phone or return emails. I finally ordered the table from CSN and received it in two weeks (CSN is a great company!). Now I am going through BBB and my credit card company to try to get my money back. BBB has already given up (RJD doesn't return their calls either). Don't order anything from these people!!!!!"
"Never buy from this store. There are 47 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. They charged your account without actually putting an order in. They never respond to phone message or email. I wonder how long they will be in business? I am still waiting for my order to be processed evn though I was charge on my credit card a month ago. I would like to cancel my order but they don't allow that to happen: they don't take any phone calls!"
"We ordered a table/chairs, hutch, and buffet set. It took months to arrive even though we were told it was in stock. When the truck finally arrived, the table leaves, hutch and buffet were all damaged. Even though we followed the directions for return, we could not get anyone to give us the status of our order. I left numerous messages every day for two weeks straight, never receiving a return phone call. All of my emails were also ignored. An answering service usually had to take my message, still no return phone call. I finally had to contact my credit card company to handle the situation. Now, when I call, the line goes straight to a busy tone. This place is a crappy company. Do not be dumb enough to deal with this bunch of idiots. No reputable company treats their customers this way. This is the single worst case of customer service I have ever had to deal with. You are making a huge mistake if you deal with these jerks. Consider yourself warned!!!!"
"Purchased a beautiful dining set from diningroomspace.com and received the table damaged. Spoke a few times with customer service and then the claims manager. Received a replacement table 5 days later that was also damaged. Called the customer service number, which as mentioned is frequently just an answering service that answers. Left many, many messages with the A.S. and have received no contact back. Claims manager has also failed to return my e-mails. Finally, called American Express and now they are investigating the purchase. Will never ever do business with them again. If you've found a piece of furniture that you like on their website, trust me pay a little more and buy it elsewhere."
"We received a damaged coffee table. Filled a claim . Called them, got the answering service numerous times. The only time I got them, I left a message at the Claims director David Fingerer, that never responded. Sent several e-mails. No respond. Eventually got refund via Pay Pal. It's the worst company I ever made business with!!"
"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS!! The only positive reviews on this site have to be from RJD representatives themselves. My experience is exactly that of the other legitimate posts on this site. RJD stated that the vanity purchased from thebathroomdepot.com was in stock. The credit card was charged the day of the order and I then received an email two days later stating that it had been backordered. They provided a new shipping date and when I followed up with them I only could get to a "answering service" that stated they could not provide any information as they only send messages to RJD via email.Received a call from the manufacturing company stating that the vanities we had purchased were shipped but that they would not deliver them to us because RJD had not paid them. Turns out we were one of three out of seven orders this manufacturer has received that RJD has not paid on. The other four had not yet shipped and would not until payment was received. Have disputed the charge with the credit card company and received a credit. Next is filing a complaint with teh BBB. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE MORONS! "
"Buyers beware! Two major indications that this company is both seriously unprofessional and a potential scam: They require you to pay via PayPal, meaning they do not have a real merchant credit card account which any self respecting business should have; and they have an "answering service company" to take customer service calls, yet they are somehow unable to forward your calls to the actual customer service department or provide you with a direct number. This answering service's response to my request for support was: "I'm sorry sir but I can only take a message and pass it on to the customer service department, I have no way to access their system directly." What is this, the 18th century? Have to write down notes and hand deliver them to another building? I should have known after my first call that something was up, but I took their word for it. It was only after getting this odd response and never a real call back from customer service, multiple times over the course of 4 weeks, that I realized that The Dining Room Space/RJD is probably just a few people, screening calls, avoiding customers, trying to collect as many orders as possible while putting in the minimum effort to ensure orders are handled properly. I'm sure there is no real "accounting department" or "customer service department." More than likely, these are just middle-men between furniture distributors and the world wide web, not actual dealers operating legitimately. A search on Google Maps shows them to be in a commercial building, but who knows if that is even really their building? Would be nice if someone in Hollywood FL could drive by there and see what's going on.Oh, for those who finally got a hold of someone in "sales" who told you your items were back ordered - wow, that's quite a bit further than I got! One interesting thing would be to call up other furniture dealers and check to see if the same item you're trying to purchase is indeed on back order. Saying "it's on back order" is an easy way for sales people to avoid having to do any real work. Or worse, it might be part of an outright scam to try and swindle your money through an esoteric order & return policy.Regardless, due to RJD's failure to deliver the products or give me any kind of status update in 4 weeks, I've reversed the charge with my credit card company and will be submitting a report to the BBB about this company's practices. I strongly urge anyone shopping for furniture online to avoid RJD, it is simply not worth the money you think you'll save. "
"i agree with everyone that has left a negative review and also am on the same boat. i placed an order 3 weeks ago and have not heard a word from these clowns. have sent numbers of email, which none have been replied to and everytime i call day after day i get the same line "we are the answering service for them and take their calls when they get overflowed, leave us your info and they will return your call." obviously someone is there on their end because the discount ending dates keep getting updated every few days. STAY AWAY FROM THESE BAD BUSINESS MORONS!!!"
"I had a great experience with RJD Stores, it's Serenityliving.com you need to beware of. They shipped the wrong product and what they shipped was a broken piece of crap. I have been trying to get a refund for 3 days. They say only the manager does refunds and he's never in. SerenityLiving is a SCAM. "
"I've been battling these people for months. They NEVER return a call. Sales people refuse to help with problem orders. I've had to esclate to the credit card company to get my money back. Horrible customer service. I'd never use them again and would never recommend them"
"Consistent with the other recent reviews, this company is a complete fraud. Ordered several items in early December, all of which were labeled "In Stock". Received the order confirmation. My credit card was charged. Then... nothing. I have called many times. Mostly had to leave messages. Also sent emails. No responses to any of those. By repeatedly calling, I was able to speak with someone on four occasions. In each case, I was told that my order was shipping that day. Six weeks later... still nothing. Now have to file the fraud with my credit card company and BBB. Stay away."
"BEWARE - After placing an order, the order did not ship at the promised date shipped. I called, sent emails without ever receiving a response. The phone is permanently forwarded to an answering service all day long, even during normal business hours. After days of no response, I cancelled the order using the online cancellation form. They never confirmed the cancellation, never returned my calls or replied to my emails requesting to confirm the cancellation. The order shipped 10 days after I cancelled it and I received it anyway. Without any news, I had to locate the manufacturer and call their shipping department myself to find out my order was going to ship in spite of my cancellation. Thank goodness it was not damaged and I had not yet purchased the item locally. I can only imagine what it must be like to file a claim with a company that never returns phone messages or emails! It's way too risky doing business with this company. Having a product delivered on time and in good condition should not be because you are lucky! "
"*** ALL THESE GOOD COMMENTS ARE BAD AND POSTED BY RJD STORES. ***This Company is horrible. Placed an order back on November 29th and right after received confirmation that my order was being processed. It has been 2 weeks and I have not heard anything since. I have called multiple times, around 4 times, about the status on this order and all the people their do is tell me that "I have contacted the call center and they can not assist me. They can take my name and number and someone can get back to me". I have also sent three e-mails. NO REPLY. This company is bogus. I have contacted my credit card company and disputed the charges and informed them that I have been charged and have not received material. For this of you who don’t know, companies have signed agreements with credit card companies. A company has to have product to you, or shipped, within 10-business day after charging you for product. RJD Stores should loose their Visa/MC/DC/AMEX agreements. "
"I ordered a bed from RJD, with White Glove Platinum delivery, on October 18. The woman who took the order was very pleasant and helpful. However, they have completely messed up the delivery. They charged me the extra $75 for an extra flight of stairs on Oct. 23, but nobody ever contacted me to schedule a delivery date. Instead, I got an email from FedEx saying they would deliver on Dec. 1. Needless to say, FedEx does not carry furniture up 3 flights of stairs and put it together as I had paid for. Unfortunately I was away for Thanksgiving and did not read the FedEx email until Dec. 1. I tried repeatedly to contact RDJ, but never could get connected to a human. I have left 3 voicemails and sent 2 emails. In the meantime, on Dec. 2 FedEx actually did deliver -- to the front hallway of my apartment building, while I was not home, and only 1 box of 4 (the headboard). Now this giant box is blocking traffic in my narrow Manhattan building, I don't know where the other 3 boxes are, I can't get it up the stairs, which means I also can't even open the box to see whether it's damaged, and I can't get in touch with anyone at RJD to find out what to tell FedEx. I even joined Jigsaw to get the phone number for the president, but it's just the same number and the extension they list (101) is not recognized by the phone system. I am about to try the email they list for the president, maybe that will help. At the moment I wish I'd never heard of this company."
"Was initially hesitant about ordering from this company based on reviews posted here. Called the company prior to ordering and felt sufficiently reassured to give them a chance. So glad I did. Received the 'Factory Cart' today - exactly on schedule. Packaging of the product was excellent - this 200 lb furniture item travelled from Florida to BC, Canada through 3 different carriers and was received without a scratch - no mean accomplishment. My wife loves the quality and authenticity of the piece - I loved the price: $200 - $400 cheaper than anywhere else I was able to source it. I will be dealing with 'The Dining Room Space' again.
