I bought a Gitzo GT3541XLS tripod from this merchant and the experience was entirely satisfactory. The was no attempt to upsell, the item was shipped promptly, packed very well, and was exactly as described. I'm very pleased with how this merchant handled my order from start to finish. I would not hesitate to order from The Camera Box again, and I highly recommend this seller to others.

Despite receiving the wrong lens in the mail (honest mistake, both lenses were 18-250mm), Tina was very helpful and sincere in helping remedy the problem, and I will still receive the lens I ordered this week. This review was modified by its author, mformeister, on

I was extremely disappointed with your service. I placed the order on line as a birthday gift for my daughter about a week before her birthday. The lens never arrived. About a week after her birthday she called and asked why I did not get her a gift. I told her that I did. I called customer service. They said that they sent me an email after I placed the order (which I never received) telling me that they can’t ship to an address not on my VISA card. So I had to ship it to my house. Repackage and ship it to my daughter. She finally got the lens, but it was a total hassle. Customer service could have called me when they realized I had not responded to the email. It was a very bad experience. I order a lot of gifts for people and family on line. I pretty much only guy gifts online. The Camera Box is the only company I have ever dealt with that has this policy. I wasn't notified and the website did not state this policy. It cost me a long delay and extra postage.

I recently completed a purchase from The Camera Box; Sigma Lens 18-125 OS for a Canon camera. I must admit I was a little skeptical at first since I did not know this seller before now. Their price for this item was at least 13% lower than everybody elses which added to my doubts, but I checked other clients reviews and everybody gave them good ratings, so I decided to go for it based on their much lower price and good ratings.
I must say the my experience with this purchase was excellent. The ordering process was very smooth with absolutely no problems, no calls back, no bait and switch; just excellent. Their website was very good to navegate and everything I needed to do was very clear. I have had my lens now for two days and so far it has performed exactly as I expected or better.
From my experience, this is an excellent seller and would recommend it to anyone. This review was modified by its author, JuanLBonnin, on

I ordered a 2x lenss extender for my Canon D30. Service from camera box was prompt and accurate. What more could you ask for?
Maybe a wish there was an option for USPS instead of UPS. If you don't pay the extra UPS charge for fast shipping they leave it set in a warehouse for a couple days until it is due. God forbid it would be early.

Well, where to begin? Ordered a Nikon Coolpix S610c from The Camera Box assuming that it had a USA warranty. NOT! Maybe my fault, but nowhere on their website can I find anything that says they're selling grey market goods. Received the order super fast. Ordered on a Sunday evening, had the camera the following Tuesday morning. OK, they're located in Brooklyn and I'm in Southern NJ.... but still fast, considering. I was, however, disappointed that it was grey market. I have ordered grey market electronic equipment in the past and have been satisfied, mainly because with all the electronic equipment that I've bought in the past 38 years I've only needed to use the warranty one time, with Sansui (not grey), and that was in 1974. All in all, not a real big deal.... except that there was one Guide missing in the shipment. The camera is a WiFi enabled unit and the missing guide was, of course, the "Wireless LAN Connection Guide". So now the adventure begins. I was shooting blind for a day and a half. Two steps forward three steps back. Searching Nikon's website for any information at all.. Nothing! All the Users manuals and other Guides you could think of are available in .pdf format on the Nikon site, except this particular "Guide". ????? Go figure. Finally called customer support at The Camera Box and talked to Tina. She gave me a one-year third party warranty on the camera and said that she would call Nikon and get more info on the Guide. Finally! Making some headway.. or so I thought. Tina e-mailed me the next day and gave me a website link that was provided by Nikon that was supposed to solve my problem. It was a generic Wireless LAN setup guide and not specific to my camera and did not have the corresponding page number references to match the S610c users manual. It was basically useless. Very frustrated at this point, I decided to call Nikon direct. First I called the Nikon West Coast Parts Dept. talked to a rep and was told they did'nt carry this guide and that I should call Nikon Tech Support, which I did and talked to the first tech (Peter) for about 5 minutes explaining my situation, whereupon I was put on, the dreaded, HOLD, so he could check on the availability of this guide. Twenty-five minutes later, with him checking in every 8 minutes or so to make sure I was still there the line went DEAD! I immediately called back and told Juan that I had been on the phone with Peter and had been mysteriously disconnected and preceded to explain the situation all over, once again, and again the DREADED HOLD! Only a short period of about 10 minutes this time then the shucking and jiving, him-hawing or whatever you care to call it for about 10 or 15 minutes explaining to me it was'nt really important and that I did'nt really need the guide and that they could walk me through it. I then explained, once again, my need for the Guide so that I could cross reference with the users Manual and be able to use for future questions. It was, by this time, very clear to me that these gentlemen had absolutely NO IDEA whatsoever what they where doing. NOT A CLUE! This Guide in this world of Nikon does'nt exist. This being the very first Nikon product that I've ever bought, and at this point the last, I was ready to throw in the towel. They took down my serial number information and other pertinent information and requested a copy of the receipt, which I scanned and e-mailed to them. I was then issued a formal ticket number. WHAT B.S.!!! The next day I received an E-mail from yet a third member of the Nikon team informing me that on researching my serial number they determined that the camera was grey market and NOT eligible for USA Nikon support and that there was nothing that they could do for me. Honestly, that was one of the first things I told both of the reps on the phone, that we were dealing with grey market and if need be I would buy the guide from them because I could'nt find a copy on their website. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Now let me get this straight, I have a Nikon product not warranteed in this country, yet Nikon is receiving the profit from selling this unit regardless, and I can't get a simple question answered!!! Boggles the mind. I called back to The Camera Box with my tale of woe and spoke, again, to Tina. She was much more sympathetic to my plight than Nikon and promised to research it further on her end. Being very PO'ed I wrote back to Nikon expressing my disappointment in their endeavors and, once again saying that I was willing to pay for the guide if available.. I received a message back saying that they would work on it and get back to me. In between all this mess Tina contacted me from The Camera Box and said she had found a .pdf file containing the much sought after S610c Wireless LAN Connection Guide. LIFE IS GOOD! I cannot thank this lady enough. She definitely went well above and beyond the norm to satisfy my request for satisfaction. I have never encountered a business with a customer service so dedicated to their work, bar none. I downloaded the file and all now is well with the world.
BOTTOM LINE: on this whole issue is -
1) I will definitely buy from The Camera Box again as long as Tina is there.
2) Nikon will get my business again provided there is a reputable third party support system. This review was modified by its author, EddieBoy, on
