"I called in my order on the 4th of Dec., the man told me it will ship the next day UPS ground. Called back the 11th, they said it had not shipped yet, could not find info on it being shipped, they said one will be shipped that day. On the 14th I went online to my account, and stillit said my order was in progress, called talked to Elizabith in customer service..(LOL) she could not find any info on it being shipped and would look into it. I called back 1 hour later, talked to Will in CS, he would ship one 2 day USPS and I would have it by Tuesday, I explained I needed it by Wensday I aw going to see my brother it was a gift. Well its Thursday, I called the blade shop talked to them explained I got another gift for my brother, wont need the knife, and if it ever comes I need a prepaid shipping label sent. They refused even admiting it was their screw up.BAD PLACE dont buy there!!!!!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and they dont ship the next, more like never!!!!!"

"I placed an order with thebladeshop.com on August 28th 2007. The next day I received an email stating that the products I ordered were back-ordered and expected to arrive in two weeks. I waited 2-1/2 weeks and then called the toll free number. The agent told me that the truck would be there in 3 days and my order would be shipped. 3 weeks later I again called and was told that one product was in and the second would arrive in 4-5 days. 2 weeks after that I sent an email with no response. On October 29th I again called and was told that the order was in and would be shipped. I received the order today, over 2 months after my credit card had been shipped. Their customer service never initiated contact after that first email, I had to call to get any information. I sent an email expressing my dissatisfaction with the customer service and lack of notification and received an email stating that The Blade Shop felt that I did indeed receive good customer service. I will never order from them again. Friendliness does not equal good customer service."

"TheBladeShop does not keep their word.

TheBladeShop advertises a "120% Protection Low Price Guarantee!" I needed to buy several Victorinox Swiss Army knives, so I shopped around online. A seller on Amazon had the lowest price for them, but TheBladeShop would have been cheaper with their low price guarantee. I read all of the fine print for their price match, confirmed that all the requirements were met, and called TheBladeShop. The guy was quiet for a while and then he put me on hold. When he came back on the phone, he had made up a new requirement that is not listed on their website (even today). He said the seller on Amazon did not have a phone number where he could call to confirm their inventory. This was nonsense because the number in stock was displayed right on the Amazon webpage. TheBladeShop refused to honor their low price guarantee, so I ordered from the Amazon seller. (I received the Swiss Army knives, so obviously the Amazon seller did have them in stock.)"

"I ordered a knife as a Christmas present on 12/22 and payed extra for 2 day shipping in order for it to arrive. As of 12/29 I still had not received my knife. I called on 12/28 to check on the status of my order and send an email. The customer service number returned a busy signal all day. I called again on 12/29. After waiting on hold for nearly an hour and being shipped off to different people, the representative apologized for the hold time and offered to call me back later in the day with information. I still had not heard back from him nor received a response from my email by the end of closing on the 12/29. I tried again on 12/30 and was placed on hold again for nearly 15 minutes. After waiting, the representative came on the phone and said my knife was not in stock. They had never notified me, but had proceeded to charge my credit card on the day that I placed the order, knowing well that the item was not in stock. I demanded a refund and was told that the amount would appear in my account within 30 DAYS, although they had stated in their policy that my card would not have originally been charged until the item shipped. I am extremely dissatisfied with this seller, both in their product availability and their non-existent customer service. I have now been forced to order form another seller and will not be able to give the gift until well after the New Year. I will never order from them again and would not recommend anyone else do so. "My story with The Blade Shop is similar to Marine01 below. I ordered my knife on June 19th, 2008. They debited my card on that day. I received an email the following day that the knife was back-ordered and would be shipped in 1-2 weeks, so I decided to wait. 2 weeks later, I emailed again and was told it would be July 19, 2008 before it was received. On July 20, 2008, I sent another email and received word the following day that there was another 2 week delay. I emailed them to cancel the order. I was emailed back to call their customer no-service and cancel, which I did. I also informed them that was an unacceptable practice to #1, not show that the knife was on backorder, and #2, to charge my card when it was not in stock. They seem unconcerned and told me my money would be refunded with 10 days. It was not refunded, so I called back and was informed that they had 30 days by law, but it would be in my account on August 4, 2008. It is now August 11, 2008, and it has not been refunded yet. They have failed to respond to any emails since August 4th. BAD COMPANY. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. I will be reporting them to the BBB, their state Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission, since they do business across state lines. They still have $232.00 of my money."

"Hi, Out of everything that I have ever ordered online I can honestly say that doing business with this company "the blade shop" has by far, 'been my worst experience.... EVER....'. As far as customer service goes; well theres just not much there when you consider that I got the same run around as most all of you guys. I called 2 months after I ordered a blade and was informed that it was "on back order",(One would think that if a company had a product that was on backorder that they would list it as being so on their websight beforehand) My bad, I aparently should have "called" the blade shop 1st just to make sure that they had it in stock??? At least this is what I was informed as I was asking for a refund from the same folks that I spoke with the 3 or 4 previous times whome I called to check on the status of my Purchsae. well, after almost 3 months of waiting on a knife that was supposed to be a christmas present for a friend I decided that I would call again, Keep in mind that the last time I spoke with these people I was informed that they had the knife @ "their" location and that they were going to have it in the mail within 2 or 3 business days:). well after another week and a half or 2 I decided to call back today and find out the status. This lady told me the same thing again "well we have the knife here we just havent shipped it out. How do you do it guys? I mean this is america right land of the free to take advantage?!@# I mean land of the free right? At least I would have only been taken for $29.00 had I decided to just let it go or forget about it. I feel for you guys that have spent hundreds and had to deal with the same drama. I would like to know how do you do it? How dose a business aparrently handle so many orders and not have the courtesy to shoot an e mail or a phone call to their customers letting them know that there is a delay in shipping???How does one stay in business for 8 years treating folks this way? I wonder how many people just finally got tird of dealing with these guys and said "screw the money, they can keep it" $20.00 here 20 there. Now im not suggesting that these guys are total ripoffs:) I hope these reviews help. If you've read this hopefully it is before you have had to spend days on end arriving home from work expecting to find a package on the door step only to be disappointed. good luck & god bless"

"I ordered a Benchmade Bali-song from The Blade Shop on 02/19/2008. I called the customer service department and they said that the knife was in stock and would be shipped the following day. On 02/22/2008 after checking the website and seeing that my order was “In Progress”, I called the CS dept. and was assured that the knife had been shipped. On 02/22/2008 when I still had not received it I made another call to the customer service department and was told that it had not shipped and was now on back order. On 02/22 I spoke with the head of the customer service dept. he apologized to me and said that it would be in the following week. It was not until I had spoke with the supervisor that the order status was updated on the web site. On 03/03/2008 I made yet another call to the CS line and was told that it was not in at that time but that it would be in by the end of the week. On 03/12/2008, after not receiving any e-mails I made another call to the CS line and was told that they still had not received the knife, but expected on one of their next few shipments. At this time I cancelled my order, and requested a refund, one month after my credit card had been charged. I will never use this company again. From the other reviews and my personal experience, it appears that they charge customer’s cards up front and use those funds to then place the orders with the manufacturers. "

"Having done a lot of business with web retailers since the internet was a "puppy", I'm a little embarrassed to report that the Blade Shop slipped past my "flake detector". My experience is much the same as many other posters, so I won't bore you with the details of my unfortunate transaction with these people. Complaining on web forums does alert others to the risks of dealing with questionable web retailers, but does nothing to solve the fundamental problem. I've filed a dispute claim with my credit card company as a first step. I suspect that The Blade Shop gets plenty of those and knows how to game the process. A reminder to all that complaints can be filed with the Consumer Affairs Division of your state's Office of the Attorney General. If you have the stomach for dealing with the federal bureaucracy, you can also file with the Consumer Protection Bureau of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The only hope consumers have for weeding out the predators is to complain to the folks who can do something about it. "

"This company is the worst I have ever delt with! I'm just going to copy and past the email I just sent them. Place the order 2/22/09 got the refund 06/03/09 her is the email:

[Wow!! I finally have the refund. Only took two months. If you guys had a survey to fill out I would but probably it would be useless. when I ordered the knifes online it never said they were out of stock. then I was told a couple weeks. told this over and over for a couple months. So I bought the knife from cabellas for half your price and received it in 4 days. I then requested a refund from you. Told 10 business days. took almost two months and 8 emails and a couple phone calls. This was the fist time I used this company and it will be the only time I ever try. This hole experience has been a mess, problems like this can't only be a one time thing, there a serious problems with the way you guys operate. after this email I'm going to look online and find out how many other people have had problems and I'm sure it will only take less than a min.] "

Rip off site, not sure I will ever get the holster I ordered and will have to get my Bank to collect payment from this fraudulent site.

Stay far away from these crooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
