"I was very excited to find the kodak easyshare z712 camera for such a great price at Fotoconnection, plus the free starter kit! I placed the order, was a bit unsure about it when I got an email to call to confirm my order. The sales person was a pushy, but I got what I wanted. The camera arrived sooo much faster then I expected! But my free starter kit was not included. I discovered that there was a shipping fee of $9.99 after emailing the promotion dept. I'm very upset because no where on the banner ad or web site was there a statement saying there was an extra charge for this free starter kit. I even went back to check it out again but found nothing about this extra cost. I feel this was very misleading. Don't think I will recommend this company to anyone else. "
"ok its been a month now and still no starter kit they keep putting me off thinking im going to forget.
wow did i get fooled first i look for the cheapest price for a camcorder a jvc mg-130 and i find two places that are around the same price the new connection and fotoconnection. im deployed so i call both of them to see if they ship apo they both say yes. the new connection shiping was 2$ cheaper so i went with them. 15 days after i place my order my money was still in my bank account so i called them to see if they have shiped it. they said i have to wait 4 weeks for them to get it???????? (it will take a min of ten days for it to get to me from the states) so thats almost 2 months. i canceled the order and oredered it from fotoconnection they said they can send it the next day (great) but they fooled me in to paying for an "extened" battery (90 mins) for 40 bucks more.OH AND HERES THE KICKER THE NEW CONNECTION AND FOTOCONNECTION IS THE SAME COMPANY. it came in good time 10 days but they took the battery that comes with the cam out and put in the "extended" one. why didnt i get both? so i looked in to it. i had someone next door order the cheapest ver. of the cam i got and they got the same exact thing including the "extened" battery and they saved 100$. so i call fotoconntection to ask about it and they hung up on me. this whole time i have been waiting for a starter kit that comes free with the cam i never got it i even emailed them 8 times. on the 9th time they told me i had to fill this out to get it. "

"Please DO NOT buy anything from thenewconnection.com (a.k.a fotoconnection.com).
I purchased a canon powershot SD 40, first they complained that my billing was wrong and when I called them, they sold me an addition item. They shipped the wrong color (on the invoice it listed clearly what was the color I ordered). I called them and wanted to get the right one, they said I had to pay for the shipping cost, plus I had to wait for another 2 weeks to get it. I said it was clearly their mistake, if they didn't ship the wrong item, i wouldn't need to send it back. The first salesperson was very rude and impatient. He said the one that I ordered was sold out by the time they processed my order. I never received any notice regarding the item being out of stock when the website clearly stated "In stock". I called them 3 times last week to confirm billing info, they sold me an extra battery and I called them again to confirm shipment, nothing was mentioned during those conversations. I wanted to escalate it to a manager, and he transferred me to their manager, Roger. He is even worse than the first person. I said if i couldn't get it this week, I would like a full refund. He said all refund required 15% restocking fee. He only gave me option #1) I pay to ship it back, and wait for 2 weeks for a new item, option #2) I pay to ship it back, and get a refund menu 15% restocking fee, either way, I would have to pay for their mistake. He said he didn't want to spend time talking with me anymore and said I was being very unreasonable. I asked if I could talk to another manager or upper management. He said he was it. I asked him to transfer me to their complaint department and he said he was it and said he was typing it. And again very rude. He then said he didn't want to talk to me anymore and hang up on me. I called again, another person picked up and said nothing he could do and hang up on me again. I called the third time, another person - Dave, said nothing they could do, he said I was being very childish. He claimed that no manager would talk to me and everybody would keep hanging up on me if he transfer me around.
first, they denied their mistake... second, they wouldn't settle and give the customer better option, and the customer needs to pay for their mistake third, they were very rude forth, they hung up on customer fifth, they called the customer childish and said the customer was wasting their precious time (those were their exact words)
"DON'T BUY FROM THIS SET OF RELATED COMPANIES!!! I ordered online a kit with a DSLR camera and two lenses last week and they called me one our later to try to sell me other stuff and convinced me to order more things: a) they wanted to include two UV filters, I ordered instead one polarizing filter for a given price, they sent me an inexpensive UV filter; b) they insisted that I purchase a fast speed memory card, which they said was much faster that the one I was about to order from another place; in the packaging list they listed a brand name memory card, but the included card was from a different manufacturer and of half the speed; c) they misinformed me to convince me to buy a warranty, saying that the 1 year manufacturers warranty covers only parts but no labor; d) despite the fact that they gave me individual prices for each item added to my original order, they billed everything together at a single price as a "kit", and the return and exchange instructions said that the parts of a kit cannot be returned or exchanged individually; e) when I complained by email, they responded two days later saying simply to call a phone number, and when I called to exchange the filter and the memory card, they said that the only way I can do it is by sending back everything, and then they will send it back to me as individual items. Their cheap prices are not cheap any more when you end up with things you don't want."

"AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I ordered a projector this last weekend and they called me to try to sell a bunch of other stuff so I told them to just cancel my order. I was convinced to keep the order but later found a better deal so I sent an email for them to cancel the order. They don't take cancelations over email so I called the minute they opened Monday to cancel which I was told was done and I should expect an email. I didn't get the email so I called back and asked for them to confirm the cancellation which they did and said sometimes the emails get delayed. I found I was charged anyway and they sent the projector anyway (without sending me shipping confirmation so I wouldn't get suspicious) and called back which they said I didn't cancel the order. They were incredibly rude and very unprofessional (they thought it was a big joke that they were able to ignore my cancellation and that I couldn't do anything about it). I told them I would contact my credit card and refuse the package and expected all my money back but they said they wouldn't refund the shipping. This is a common tactic among many online companies. I'm sure they tell their agents to ignore requests like mine to stick us with the high shipping charge. I refused the package and they threatened to stick me with not only the shipping charge but a "restocking fee" which they don't even mention in their policy. Just think who benefits from this type of service and you'll know who to believe. This kind of treatment of a customer is unbelieveable. Save yourself the trouble and AVOID them. Sure you may get lucky and order and get what you want but if you need to cancel your order, you will get screwed!!! You will notice that they are apart of many other sites and that's because they run such a scam that they're trying to run from their bad reputation and deny their disgusting sales tactics!"
