"DON'T SHOP HERE!!! Called Business on 2/15/05 to confirm that product was in stock as displayed on their website. Was told by salesperson (unknown name) that product was in stock, and available for shipment same day, scheduled to arrive the next day (2/16/05) via Fed Ex. The charge for shipping sounded unreasonable. The cost of shipping from Miami to Orlando, Florida was $137 overnight via Federal Express, much more than quoted from Federal Express directly for an 11 pound product. I was assured that it would arrive on 2/16/05. I called 2/16/05 to confirm, and it was not shipped, but they reassured me that it was available to be shipped and that I would receive it on 2/17/05. I called 2/17/05 and was told that I should be recieving the product that day before 4pm. I asked for a tracking number and was told that their computers were down. I insisted that a tracking number be provided, when jeff informed me that the product was back ordered and not in stock.
BUYER BEWARE!!!
1)The company's practice of over charging their customer's shipping fees. 2)This company's appalling sales tactics. 3)This company's lack of integrity in their business practices.
"Rickey @ TheNerds contacted me personally. Apologized for my troubles, made sure I was happy with the refund and gave me a store credit. He did this in front of a whole forum community with hundreds of people watching. TheNerds has earned a second chance after the attention Ricky showed this matter. If they do well or badly, I'll let you know. But I'm reassured that this isn't the way TheNerds are wanting to be viewed and they actually do care about customer satisfaction. Will use them again and report back here.
Ordered on 6 Jan 08. Received promptly, easy web site to order from. That's where the joy ENDED! Open this new Power Supply (OCZ EvoStream 720W) to find finger prints all over the reflective casing. The power cords were in a box and originally, should have had ties wrapped around them. The ties were inside the box, but not around the cables. The plastic bag the PSU should have been in was under the PSU. So I tested the PSU and it is DOA. Used review test bench, $15 tester and two different computers. This was a non-working PSU. I called TheNerds.net tech support number. I was told they would send me an email saying when a service would pick up the PSU. As soon as it was picked up, TheNerds would send me a new PSU. This conversation happened on 10 JAN 08. Come the 14th, no email. I call TheNerds.net and get hung up on twice, a phone that converted to a busy signal three times, but finally reach John (Ext 124). He tells me that I will get an email shortly. On the afternoon of the 15th, I call back. Get hung up on twice (these hang ups happen after being put on hold...and I have been completely respectful to all I've spoken to...even now)and the busy signal conversion twice. Finally get Eric (Ext 120). He tells me FedEx is scheduled to pick the box up that very afternoon. It doesn't happen. So I wait until this afternoon to see if FedEx will pick it up. Nope. Call TheNerds.net and get constant recordings. The prompts say to push zero to leave a message. The line goes busy. Never got hold of anyone today after 14 attempts to call them. I've initiated a disputed charge with my CC company. My business computer has now been down since 6 JAN 08. I've spent over 3 hours on the phone holding with no results. Hopefully, NewEgg will send me a working, unopened unit. I should have ordered from the Egg in the first place. Purchase from this company AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Update 13 Feb 08: FINALLY got my refund back yesterday. Guess what? They charged me a restocking fee for a defective item! Don't order the OCZ PSU from this place. You might just get the one I sent back! As a matter of fact, you'd be absolutely foolish to order ANYTHING from these clowns!"

"The only good thing is fast shipping. Ordered product, paid, sent 1/6 the quantity ordered and was even confirmed in the email and online, then they sent the packing slip with another number said they made mistake and management will not pay for return shipping... Absolutely crooked. The current price is 2x retail for what they sent me. Will update and buy from them if made whole"
"The nerds lost my order, after sending a confirmation for receipt of payment. Two weeks later, no notification. Worse - three calls were made to their customer services over two days. On hold over 30 minutes for two of the calls before I hung up, 25 minutes for the third call, it was answered but immediate disconnect. Called their sales line, on hold three times 3-5 minutes each time before being transferred to the same que I was in before. The sales guy said they were experiencing high volume of calls because they had sold a bunch of bad batteries. Tried to cancel the order but since they couldn't locate it, they couldn't cancel it. Also, bought a Toshiba notebook from them a month ago. I plugged it into an external monitor and it didn't work. They refused to give an RMA and said Toshiba was responsible and they didn't do any returns on Toshiba. Don't expect much from this company and you won't be disappointed."

"TheNerds.net cancelled my order on 4/1/09 stating that the product was out of stock. This caused me real inconvenience and they should have notified me of this at the time of placing the order and not three days later. I have still not received a refund on my credit card and will not be using or recommending TheNerds.net ever again, bad first time experience dealing with this company."
# hi, I ordered the wrong camera. Ther culprit: Froogle:
The term "panasonic BL-C30A wireless" brings up a page on which the second line allows one to compare 59 prices. When you click on tha link, the headline says: Panasonic Consumer (BL-C30A) Wireless Network Camera 802.11g, Automatic Network Configuration, Unive Price: $165.89 - $481.37.
I was happy to jump on the 165.89 price. Who wouldn't? Especially because you guys have "Panasonic network camera" listed on the Froogle list under 165.89 and 248.82 without any further info whether the camera is wired or wireless.
So I clicked on the 165.89 price and ordered the camera without noticing that it was the wired version. I wanted the wireless version.
I would like to arrange an exchange. Please let me know how.#
This email remained unanswered despite repeated resendings. Their automated RMA page told me (5 days after the purchase) that I purchased it over 30 days ago and it is not returnable. I called the customer service where I was told that they do not take back panasonic products, and it is clearly stated on the website. They gave me an 800# for Panasonic which I was suppOsoed to call for a return authorization(?). I called the number but they just laughed at me, as I expected. I called again and (1) a young punk treated me like an idiot and (2) claimed that they replied to my emails and (3) at any rate they will send me an email about how to contact Panasonic for the return. naturall, that email never arrived either.
I sent them an email, cc-t to a company executive (found via Register.com), to this day (2/17) I got no reply. This was my final email:
I understand that the Manager of Customer Service claims to have sent me an email about how to contact Panasonic.
Funny, I didn't get it. I did get your order confirmation as well as the returns from postmaster for underliverable addresses but none of your claimed replies. Nor did I get anything at [another email address] which I gave you just in case yahoo has a problem with your domain which it obviously does not, as per the above.
At any rate, here is a verbatim quote form your website:
"returns (request an RMA)
TheNerds.Net provides it's customers with a Free Total Satisfaction Warranty on everything we sell.
If for any reason, in the first 30 (thirty) days from the invoice date, you are not 100% completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a hassle free full refund (minus shipping amount and credit card service charges).
...
If you willingly posted a Free Total Satisfaction Warranty and hassle free refund in case no Total Satisfaction is achieved, when in fact you know full well that it is not true, then you are liable for false advertising.
I would have been perfectly satisfied with an exchange for the more expensive product (and for the life of me I can't figure out why you did not go with that) but at this time I just want to return the item for the refund.
Furthermore, I take exception with the arrogant attitude of the youngish-sounding customer service rep over the phone. He, even more so than the Manager, tries to convey this attitude that only a fool would not know that an item ordered through a web based reseller should be returned to the manufacturer. This is utter BS. ------- AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE"
"I ordered 144 AA and AAA batteries from thenerds.net. I received only 24 batteries. I sent an email and received no reply. I called and was on hold for 30 minutes before a rep answered and said there was an error on the site. If there was an error, why not just cancel my order and inform me? Instead they shipped something that I did not order. They said they would refund my purchase but would NOT pay for shipping. So that means I get to pay 8 dollars for their mistake. It was my first and last order from this site."
"Very poor shipping status. Very high shipping prices. Email support never wrote back. Both of my 'split' shipments came before their web site even listed any tracking information. The nerds never suggested that my two item order would come in two shipments, and with no web site order update, no tracking numbers, my first shipment stated " Complete receipt acknowledged. " Again, my emails were never answered. Will will shop elsewhere in the future. It's not worth a couple bucks for the nerds service.
"I ordered a Pioneer DVR K05 laptop DVD burner for my wife's Dell 8200 and everything went smoothly. Ordered one for my identical machine and their system screwed up, essentially cancelling my order without notifying me. After waiting two weeks tried to call Customer Service. Got voice mail, left name and number but they never called back. Entering order number on their website gave no info. Disconnected several times while trying to get Customer Service. Finally talked to "Johnny". He admited order screwed up by their computers plus it was out of stock. He offered no explaination as to why I was not notified nor any apology but did offer to give half off on shipping charge on next order. There will be NO "next order"."
