This company is right up there with TigerDirect (before they took steps to clean up their act) and CDW in terms of outlandishly bad customer service. There are two reasons why I will never buy anything from them ever again: (1) what is listed as "in stock" on their website is not correct and, (2) their customer service person flat out lied to me about where my package was and where it was coming from.  
 
The details: I ordered a projector mount and a shelf. The shelf showed up reasonably fast, but the mount did not. I called them and left a message which went unreturned. About 24 hours later, I called and spoke with their customer service. I asked where the second part of my order was and about the reason why that part of the order did not show up for five days. Reading between the lines of her answer, I gathered that they do not stock things themselves, they rely on drop shippers and shipments directly from the manufacturer. That's fine and all, but you cannot do that and simultaneously list the item "in stock" on your website, because you actually do not have the item "in stock." Then I asked where the item was being shipped from, she answered "our warehouse in Illinois." That turned out to be an outright lie. Both UPS tracking and the package I received in the mail indicate the mount came from Savage, MN.  
 
Bottom line: ordering stuff from these clowns may work out if you're lucky, but with Newegg or ZipZoomFly you do not need luck to get your things on time. I am going back to reliable, nonmendacious suppliers.

Do not I repeat Do not buy anything from this site! They are the most unprofessional people ever, good luck receiving your items in time. They lie and will say anything to get your money. Check the reviews and see for yourself!People be adviced don't buy from these thugs. Customer service if they called that customer service is a joke, a Zoo of very unprofessional people.

The order as stated in their website was going to be shipped either UPS or FeDex guess what? I am still waiting for it. They gave me a tracking number for the USPS who lost track of the item in California! I live in Texas! When i contacted TheNerds I wrote: Hello it has been 20 days since i placed this order with you and i haven't received it. And the reply: Your product has shipped out to you via USPS under tracking number 9102106642866510898440I have tracked your package for you on USPS website and the information provided shows that this item is still in transit to you. If you have any questions or concerns please respond to this email.

To which I replied: Hello Mrs. De La Torre I do have a concern since this order is taking so long to get to me. When i bougth this item I was under the assumption that it was to be shipped by FedEx or UPS not the USPS and it was not going to take 3 or 4 weeks. I do have a problem since you weren't forthcoming about your shipping options; that is misleading the customer ma'am which is also going to affect my rigths if i decide to return the item since it will be more than the 30 days from the time i placed the order. I tried to follow the item via USPS and still shows in transit from California and that is since Oct 29 that was a week ago. Needless to say I tried calling and get a resolution to this and Mr. Eric one from CS said I have to find were the product is? Me? The Buyer? I don't think so! It is my fault no doubt about it! But only from buying from them.

Order a countertop stove from them ... it arrived DAMAGED ... Cost of item was $108.98..... it cost me $Over $39.00 to return it to them .... AT MY EXPENSE ... I did NOT GET any money back for the shipping.... the it took over a MONTH to get the original order amount of $108.98 BACK ... I had to call them THREE TIMES to get the refund. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ...... think TWICE and then think again before ordering from these people ....

After reading all the horror stories about TheNerds.net, I was a little reluctant to order from them. However, the $500 item I needed was only $270 there. That made an unaffordable item, obtainable and so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm a little flabbergasted at all the trouble people seem to be having with TheNerds. I ordered, and after a couple of days, I hadn't seen any status change in my order. I called, immediately got some one on the phone. They were able to tell me the status and then emailed me the tracking number. Within a few days I had my item, brand new out of the box at nearly half price. So after reading everything, I was very surprised and satisfied as a customer that everything went so well. I can't imagine how so many people can be having such an opposite experience in dealing with their customer service.

I purchased a hard drive from them that had a 5 year warranty. The first drive they sent out was an IDE when it was supposed to be a SATA. I sent it back on my dime and they say they never got it. USPS Delivery Confirmation says otherwise. Filed a charge back with the credit card company and got my money back. Ordered again (I know, stupid!) and I got it quickly enough but after a little over a year I had issues with the drive. I contacted Seagate and was told I have to deal with TheNerds.net since I got it from them. I have called, emailed, faxed and about to resort to smoke signals. I either get put into voice mail with no return call or hung up on. I will never purchase anything from this place again.

HORRIBLE customer service. Took days to get a response via phone or email and was given the runaround for 3 weeks. Item listed as in stock, I was emailed 4 days later that there was a "web site error" and it was out of stock, but stock was expected within a week. Several days later, I was told item would not be stocked for yet another week. 2 days prior to final shipping date quoted, my order was canceled without warning. I feel completely scammed.

This was my first experience with this company. I ordered a DVD player on a Saturday morning, and I had it before noon on the following Tuesday (standard shipping)!  
Their policies were clearly stated when I made my order, and they provided me with prompt updates of my order status and tracking number as they said they would.  
When it comes to electronics, I am skeptical of ordering online. However, I would (and have) highly recommend TheNerds to friends and family.

Before ordering I called this merchant (TheNerds.net) to verify stock on-hand and ability to ship the same day. I was assured by a sales rep that the product was in stock and that I was ordering early enough (9:00am) that the order would ship that same day.  
 
I placed the order on 9/4 and received an e-mail confirmation that, among other information, advised that I would receive another e-mail with tracking information within 48 hours. From my credit card activity inquiry I also determined that my credit card had been billed for the purchase amount of $640.69 immediately upon order confirmation.  
 
On 9/8 after 48 hours I had yet to receive the promised e-mail so I called the merchant and spoke to a customer service representative. The representative informed that the order did not ship on Friday as promised but would be shipping that afternoon and before the end of the day I should receive the confirming e-mail with tracking information.  
 
By 9/9 I had still not received the confirming e-mail so I called the merchant again and talked to representative Eric. Now Eric informed that the order had not shipped on 9/8 but had shipped out that day (9/9). Eric agreed that the order had been badly mishandled and that I had been continuously misled, and offered to refund the shipping charge of $26.71 as apology. I soon thereafter received an e-mail claiming that I was being credited $26.71. And I was again promised a confirming e-mail with tracking information.  
 
On 9/14, having received neither order, confirming e-mail nor promised credit, I called the merchant still again and spoke to representative Ricky. Ricky discovered that the order had still not shipped for reasons completely unknown. At that point I instructed Ricky to cancel the order immediately. I shortly thereafter received an e-mail claiming that a credit of the balance of $613.98 was being issued.  
 
It is now 9/16 and neither of the promised credits has appeared. This is one of the shoddiest merchants it has been my misfortune to deal with. You can be certain I will never deal with this merchant again!

I placed an order for a subwoofer on the site and heard nothing for 10 days. Finally, after emailing them, I got an email saying that the item was out of stock and that they would cancel my order. I got a good price on the product and wanted them to just keep me on backorder for when it came back - the response I got to this was "No! (yes, with exclamation) the order was being cancelled and I could reorder the product at likely a new price *if* it comes back in. Terrible service - thanks for wasting my time.

This was my second purchase my other being a few years ago. I contacted customer service 3 times over a 1 week period where they kept saying it was shipping that day and I would get a confirmation. Well, it was actually back ordered the whole time. This took 8 days from the day I purchased until they said it was never going to ship which did not make me happy. The day I ordered, it stated there were 8 in stock, well, I guess not! I just wish they would have informed me earlier that it would not ship within 72 hours instead of me banging on their door to get info.

I had a bad experience with this company as well - I should have paid attention to the previous reviews. Purchased some items that I found for a much lower price than at other online stores. Put the purchase on my credit card and received the following email from TheNerds.net:  
"Thank you for your order with www.TheNerds.Net. Unfortunately we were unable to get an authorization on your credit card and your order has been cancelled. This could have happened for a couple of reasons. Some of those reasons include, but are not limited to, a wrong expiration date or card number entered. Please replace your order carefully. The original order  
will not ship. Thanks in advance for your understanding.  
 
If you believe this is an error on our part, please do not hesitate to call  
our customer service department at 888-566-6373 option 2."  
 
I double-checked that my credit card information was entered correctly and also called my credit card company. There should have been no problem with putting the transaction through. TheNerds.net told me to try to order again. However, I ended up ordering the items from another company with no problems. I didn't want to go through the hassle again(especially after I read that others had a similar problem). TheNerds lost a sale.

Took a chance with this store only because it was offering good cashback from Bing.com. After a week, nothing, and finally called in only to find out the item was in backorder (which was not the case when I placed the order), took them 10 minutes to find out, was told "should have received email about this" which never happened.  
 
Obviously their system is NOT WORKING. Never again I would shop at a store that would waste my time.

NEVER AGAIN, would I order from thenerds site. I ordered a replacement battery for a set of wireless headphones on 8/21/09. On 8/31, I had still not received them. Their website said that my order was processed, had a tracking number and stated that they used UPS and FedEx. Each site told me that the tracking number was invalid. I e-mailed costumer service, but never heard back. By phone I was told that my item was shipped US mail on 8/25. I paid $9.99 for shipping on an item that another site would ship UPS for $4.27. I also found the same item at another site for less than half what I paid TheNerds, even with their $8.00 off coupon.

I received an email the following day after I placed my order that said my order was canceled because my credit card was declined. After speaking with my bank who confirmed that the charged had _NOT_ been declined and even gave me the approval code, I called The Nerds and was simply told the order had been voided and the only thing I could do was re-submit the order.  
 
After having one valid order "voided" with a successful credit card transaction, on record with my bank, giving them a second opportunity to charge me for an item they didn't plan on shipping seems foolish.  
 
A similarly priced item ordered from OneCall went through and was shipped the next day.  
 
I won't be back to The Nerds.
